Question:
Do you have to have anything to keep this from dripping water or have a hose going out the window?
- Anonymous on 2014-04-17
Answer:
My Ninja hasn't ever dripped water, nor the one I bought for work. The only time I have ever dripped water on the floor is when I am pouring it into the reciprocal... because the opening is quite small.
- joanna l. on 2014-04-18
Answer:
Since I use mine in my greenhouse - that is not a problem - sorry I could not be of any help.
- Shirley S. on 2014-04-18
Answer:
No hose. I placed the unit on a large plastic tray to catch water dripping when refilling,
- ALTON P. on 2014-04-17
Answer:
The unit has a water basin from which the air flow is saturated creating the cooling effect. Mine does not drip - it has no hose. I fill it, run it, and it cools the air (better and faster, when the air is dry, slower and less when the air is moist.) It's a nice unit.
- Cheryl M. on 2014-04-17
Answer:
I do not have that problem, both of mine are sitting on the carpet and I have never noticed any moisture

Question:
i needed some cooling for the 2 small bedrooms upstairs, bought this unit but really hasn't done any cooling. Am I doing something wrong? should windows be open or closed? should doors be closed or open for each room? I put it on high and cooling only today, in between both rooms, trying to see what happens today, should be 96 outside, we have no humidity in san jose, california...any suggestions? rooms are small one is about 140 sq ft the other alittle larger..is this why perhaps it is not cool
- Y O. on 2014-05-14
Answer:
Hi. A window or door must be open to provide the proper circulation. I use mine in a very small space - about 50 square feet and it lowers the temperature between 10 and 20 degrees, depending on ambient temperature. From my research of evaporative coolers, it seems that these smaller units just don't have the cooling power for whole rooms, but they do a good job cooling the area directly in front of the unit. I've heard that they also work best positioned right near the source of outside air- generally right in front of a window or door.
- Rodney B. on 2014-05-15
Answer:
Y O...I live in eastern new mexico, but am from the west coast...Believe me, if you are at sea level which you are, the swamp cooler will not work real well . swamp coolers really only work in very dry climates....to answer your question though...I put mine in front of an open door, or open window...I do close off the rest of the room....it works great!! make sure you put the control so that the water is being pumped through the filter... I use mine in a sunroom, that is about 200 square feet, and it does a great job. good luck to you.
- john c. on 2014-05-14
Answer:
first you need to make sure the pad is wet ALL OVER IT you can see and feel it by raising the cover at the back where you add water and just look and feel it you should feel wetness all over the Pad I returned one cooler because it was not getting the pad wet ALLOVER I could her the pun and there was some cool in but not like it should be you need to place the unit where it can draw HOT air from outside into the unit this is how it cools is by wetting Hot air and then blowing it into the room there does need to be an opening like a window to allow the air to draw out this is a good place to fell the cool as the air exists the room This is not like an air conditioner or refrigeration unit where you need a closed system this system works by air moving in the room and around you Also raise the cooler UP as high as you can get it as cool air drops so the higher the cooler the more air movement you will get I live in Tucson Az have two small rooms I have one Ninja in each room I really don't need them on High not till the temperature gets higher i.e.100's or better the temp here has been 95 one or two days so far and I used both coolers then I think trying to cool both rooms with one Ninja is not the best Idea It has been upper 80's lately and I have been using only one Ninja but the other room stays warmer by a lot after all these are cost effective drawing only 90 watts the electricity it uses is minimal for the cooling it does Also I put the pump switch on the first position {cooling} the others especially the last {swing} seems to stop the pump from wetting the pad I found no instructions about this to sum up make sure the pads are wet all over the unit is drawing Hot air into the back of it and the higher the better

Question:
I bought this recently but the pump quit. May I get instructions on how to open it to replace parts?
- Genifer L. on 2014-06-16
Answer:
There are five screws to remove. One in the back and two on each side. Snap the top off and there are two more screws. Remove all of them and it snaps apart with some effort. The hose to the pump came a loose on mine and I connected it and it works great
- Edward S. on 2014-06-17

I am not sure. Hav e not had this problem.
- Dawn D. on 2014-06-16
Answer:
I am not sure why i recieved this question in my email with an message to answer it? I am just a customer that also purchased one of these. It looks fairly simple to use a long screwdriver to open th two halves, but i really havent given it much thought. I think this question would be much better directed to the bussiness owners rather than the customers. im sorry to hear that your quit working. i hope you are able to repair it.
