Fantastic Heater!!!
Hard wire installed by electrician to be used in 3 season room. Not great testing weather yet but works extremely well when turned on. Thus far I would highly recommend this heater. My electrician said his father-in-law has the same heater and he highly recommends it....he was surprised that I had chosen such a good one!

nice little heater
I purchased this heater a year ago, and had it installedin in my 23'x14' workshop. this fall when the temp hit 62 I set the thermostat there I haven't had to touch since. this heater keeps my semi insulated workshop at a very comfortable temp. for working our winter here in central Pa. has been a doozy' and i have no complaints. great heater for a great price. I definitly recommend this unit for any garage workhop you will not be dissappointed!

good value heater
I bought this by seeing all the other reviews on here.?? The heater works really well.?? Note that it does not come with own plug and it needs a 220v outlet.?? I had to hire an electrician to install it in our garage, but it works very well!?? Heats very well.?? I wish it was a little quieter, but that is to be expected.

Nice choice
I installed the heater with no problem and have tried it out a few times.?? My garage area is larger than what the heater is rated for, but it still takes the chill off.?? I wanted a heater that I did not have to add fuel to, and that would keep my garage at a temperature above freezing.?? I have not gotten an electric bill yet, but I am hoping that I will not be shocked.

Great Heater
puts out plenty of heat for it's size, with the thermostat set only at 2 (max setting is 6). This was installed in our small toolroom (12 x 14) at work and we are now considering adding them to our garage and oil shed. Great little heater would definitely recommend.

Its really small but powerful. Very easy to install. When its 20 degrees outside it takes a while to warm the space but once it gets warm it stays warm.

garage heater is great
I have a 1 1/2 car garage that I was heating with propane. The fumes were starting to burn my eyes. Heard about this product on one of the car forums. It was highly recommended. installed heater (very easy) runs quietly and is on a thermostat. LOVE IT!

Great little heater.
I installed this in a 400 sq ft garage...wired directly using 10/2 to a 30 amp 2 pole breaker. It took a little bit to get up to temp in the garage, but it was 7 deg outside this morning and it was 59 in the garage. I keep it on a middle setting for that and it works for me. I havent see how it is for the electric bill yet so I cant comment on it. Its small, but even with opening and closing the big doors it keeps the temp managable to actually go in the garage and do whatever I need to do. I recommend this to anyone needing to take winters sting off working in the garage.

An Amazing Little Heater
I have a 20' x 24' shop built of cinder blocks, no insulation. Since retiring I have started some sub work building cabinetry for a boat contractor. I had sold a pellet stove that was my heat, but needed to get something now and not spend a lot. I researched for quite a while, and this heater kept coming up. I certainly had my reservations seeing the size. Well I bought one and installed it, IT WORKS GREAT. It has been very cold here in Maryland for the last several weeks, highs of 15 degrees and 7 at night. I have not needed to turn it up all the way yet, keeping the heat control at about 2/3rds to 3/4 of the way up. I really don't think you can go wrong with this unit. I still haven't seen my electric bill but according to my calculations it should add about $5.00 a day.

Works exactly as advertised. Heats our 12x25' shed attached to our Wisconsin garage with no problem, even through the polar vortex !
Good power, fan is a little loud but that's because it really pushes a lot of air. Wish the control knob was on front or side so it's more visible it once you find a range that fits for your space not much to adjust. Bracket is very versatile, was able to set up the unit just where I wanted it

Kicks it out for a little guy !!
... glad I purchased when I did. Looks like AnW is sold out of the unit now. It easily warms up my 350' ft workshop. Now I can get rid of the old kerosene heater I used for years and has probably given me brain damage. The unit is well built and hopefully will provide years of service. Thanks AnW for the quick service and good pricing...

GREAT LITTLE HEATER!!
I've had this for about 5yrs. now, and it is a great heater. My garage is 600 sq. ft. not insulated, but it is dry walled. I live in northwest Ohio, so it sometimes get's pretty cold. I can never turn it all the way up as it will run you out of there. I was reluctant to buy this because it says 500sq ft. Don't be afraid, it will work fine! One thing I did do is move the thermostat from the front of the unit, about half way down the wall (I have the unit mounted it near the celling), so it's handy to turn up and down. As far as Air and Water, I received it very quickly and undamaged. I will definitely buy from them again!

Everything I expected and more!
I just had my new air G73 installed and had no problems at all. It is much quieter than I thought it would be from the other reviews I read before I purchased this unit. Heat just pours out like crazy so I am sure this will solve my winter workshop blues. I rated the efficiency of the unit as good because spring has arrived and it won't be used hard till next winter. Thank you air and water this is exactly what I needed for my 24x14 shop.

Perfect Little Heater
I bought this heater for a 24' x 24' garage that we have almost finished building. The size of the unit is deceiving (truth be told I was skeptical when it arrived) but once we installed our ceiling this heater was able to raise the interior temperature to sixty degrees while it was only in the high teens outside. The construction is all steel and has a very solid feel. The fan unit is quiet compared to a forced air furnace and the adjustable heat control knob works as a thermostat (shutting off the unit when it raises the temperature to the allotted setting). Overall a perfect little heater and a great value for the money. Highly recommended by this buyer.

Great product, especially for the price.
I recently installed this heater in my 16 x 22 detached garage as the primary heat source. (ceiling and walls are well insulated) I couldn't be more pleased with its performance so far. Initially, I used a thermometer to check temperatures at various settings on the heater. For me, the difference in the setting numbers is about 10 degrees. It keeps my building at a nice 50 degrees when I'm not in it; and a comfortable 60-65 when I turn it up while inside. We've had a few days with high temperatures only reaching single digits- and the temperature inside only varied about five degrees. Great heater for a small garage.

Not what I had hoped for...
When I opened the box and looked at the heater, I thought No Way. The thing is REALLY small...but hey...it got GREAT reviews so it MUST be good...right? Anyway, I hooked it up and ran it on a 25 degree day and the thing just would NOT heat up the garage after leaving it one for HOURS. Even after I got the garage up to 55 with a torpedo heater in minutes, the G73 still couldn't hold the temperature after turning off the torpedo heater. FORTUNATELY, the good folks at Air and Water allowed me to return it. I ended up purchasing a Qmark 10,000 Watt model and it works GREAT!!

Appears to have high standards for construction
MY insulated, attached garage is 22 wide X 32 deep with 10 foot ceilings. It is partially heated by solar panels so it is easy to raise the temp from 41 degrees to the 60's with this heating unit. One impressive thing was the electric fan motor. I expected the fan motor to be a typical cheap bathroom fan. The motor appears to be similar in construction to the cooling fan I just replaced in a 32 year old Whirlpool refridgerator. Very heavy duty!

Great company and awesom product!
1st, my experience with Air and Water has been great! Fast and secure shipping with no issues. Just had the unit installed in my garage for winters in Colorado and I can wait to be able to work in the shop with a t-shirt while watching it snow outside. It's a touch loud but I'm guessing they all are being that it has a blower. I would not only buy again from Air and Water but I would buy this unit again!

Love this product!
I have a 1600 sq foot insulated area. I bought 2 thinking it might help to keep it from freezing inside. Instead, those two heated the entire area the whole winter. I will probably get a third one since it is a bigger area. And even better...it's in the South where humidity will ruin anything quickly. The heaters have helped keep the dampness out of the building. I love this product!

A good solution to heat our garage
We purchased the heater in 12/11 to heat our 19 x 22 ft. garage. The winter temperatures had been moderate compared to the last couple years. Our family was coming home for the holidays and we installed a dart board, small basketball goal and ping pong table in the garage and we needed heat to warm the garage. The heater took a couple hours to increase the garage temperature from the 30's and 40's to the 60's. Even though we did not have the low temperatures or snow we've had in the past couple years so that could get a stronger test we are still satisfied with the heater's ability to increase the garage's temperature. We had an electrican install.

Awesome garage heater
I recently built a new 400 sq.ft. well insulated Motorcycle work shop. Using a kerosene heater. Problem was no heat in the shop untill I fired it up. Then after it started warming up I had condensation problem on all the chrome and polished aluminum. I installed my new air g73, and problem solved. It's so nice keeping the shop at 45degrees and when I'm in it working, it only takes a short time to warm up comfortable. I like the comact size,up off the floor and mounted on the wall. Was easy to install.Havn't had it long enough to evaluate energy cost, but with the price of kerosene, I'm already very happy with it.

Adding a Thermostat
I recently ordered this heater but was installing it up high on a 12 foot wall making getting to the thermostat hard to say the least. I called customer service and they recommended getting a White Rodgers 1A66-641 tstat. Haven't received it yet, but it is good to know that you can install a tstat on this unit within easy reach. One thing to note is that when you add this external tstat, it will void your warranty. But from what I have read about this heater, I am not that concerned. Once it is installed, I will re-post.

Heats Well but So-So Construction
Construction quality is only fair. Two of the five fan blades were bent forward and hitting the supports for the heating element. The fan would not turn until I disassembled enough of the unit that I could reach the fan blades and bend them back into position. Once I did that, the heater began working well.

Although I have had this unit only for a month it heats my well insulated 20 x 20 garage just fine. The coldest outside temp has been just 28, so not really much of a test, but this 5 kw heater replaces a 30 year old 5 kw heater, so I expect it to be completely satisfactory. This is physically a very compact unit, so I did gain some garage space, which is always nice. The heating element appears ceramic so it is nice to not have an electrically exposed element. The unit has a nice rotation ability about the vertical and horizontal axes, along with adjustable louvers, so the air can be directed as desired. The only improvements I could suggest is to have the thermostat adjustment knob on the front rather than the back. Also, the unit would more rapidly bring a room to a temperature if the fan had a delay so when the thermostat turned off the heating element, the fan would run another 30-60 seconds to cool the unit down. As it is now, the unit stays quite warm after thermostat shutdown due to latent heat in the element, so it takes longer than necessary for the G73 to bring a room to a stable temperature. You can fix this yourself by constantly fiddling with the thermostat setting but that defeats why you have a thermostat. This unit seems well made and I'd buy it again.

We have had temperatures in the teens this week and the heater has done its job. We have a 20' by 30' foot room we are heating. I have to run it on high for an hour or so, but after that I can turn it down to about 7 and the room will maintain a workable temperature.

Well I received the unit and had an electrician install the 240 lines and found that I was in possession of an overpriced fan (the heating elements weren't functioning). However, I did find the customer service to be more than adequate. I just had the xmlnsnt unit installed and it actually blows heat. Unfortunately, I get about the same amount of heat from a quartz floor heater that runs on 110v and cost 1/6th the price. I suppose I paid for the quality construction, because it is designed for the garage and seems to be well built, just doesn't provide the heat I was expecting for the price and installation cost.

From a personal side, I would rather have the thermostat on the side or on the front, (Engineering problem) because when I mounted it near the wall I could not see the setting with getting a small step stool and looking behind it. This is a design question not an operational one. Great Heater.

Installs easily, for a small light unit it puts out nice heat. Waiting for real cold weather use it in 38F weather did its job. Garage is single car 242 sq. ft. insulated ceiling walls are sheet rocked. You'll need to have a electrician wire it. The only thing I don't like is the thermostat control is located in the rear. Might be for safety reasons.

Recently, I installed a 60,000 BTU propane heater in my Dad's 750 sq ft uninsulated garage/shop so I was concerned that this 19000 BTU unit would be enough heater. Living in the Pacific NW, the avg outdoor low temps throughout much of the year is between 40-50 degrees. So far, this unit has had no trouble keeping the shop comfortable. The fan noise is not unpleasant. Installation was easy. I would recommend this unit.

I recently added this heater to my 600sf, 2-stall insulated garage. I have an open loft with approx 9 foot ceilings. Trust me I spent more time than I should have researching about 20 others and even tried (and returned) propane, electric and kerosene others. This is the one you want. I crank it on high about 20 minutes before I need to work and it brings my garage to 60 degrees f with an outside temp of 0. The unit is solid and the built in thermostat is great...once the temperature is where I want it, you slowly turn knob to left until it, clicks and the heater will turn on automatically when needed. Overall, it has made my garage a year round workplace and I'm really glad I bought it. It came packaged well and instructions were clear. Thanks for making a good product.

I put the heater in a 12/20 garage to keep my corvette cozy warm in the winter. It works great. Very easy to install. Small but very effective. I wouldn't change any thing about the heater. Very pleased with company and promptness of shipping. THANKS.

The G73 heater is being used to heat my 3 car garage here in Colorado. It is small in size but does a great job. It is very flexible in case you do not have a dedicated 30 Amp circuit; as I did not at first. You are able to choose a variety of wattage settings to suit your electrical capabilities. I set it up with the wattage supported by my existing circuit and then changed the settings once I had the new circuit installed. I would recommend this heater.

To put it quite simply, I've never experienced such a smooth purchase online or even at a local store, had such excellent customer service or had such fast shipping and my G73 heater after installing, heats our entire garage perfectly with effortless ease set even on low at well below freezing temperatures outside. It is the perfect item for here in the Rocky Mountains. The built in auto thermostat is excellent and is so simple, just set it where you want it and walk away. I can't say anything at all negative about it. What an outstanding product! My friends and I were all very impressed and that does not often happen. Three of our friends have sworn to get one. I would give the G73 heater the very highest ratings and recommend it to anyone anytime. I'm thinking of getting another one for the shop out back. My big old yellow Labrador Retriever loves it too. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!

I don't buy online often because of too many scammers. This transaction was professional and EASY! I got a confirmation email the next day, informed of the ship date and it arrived in a timely fashion. Best of all, I saved about $100 purchasing through air-n-water.

I have been using the G73 Garage heater for at least a week now it has performed great for our area we have had some temp's in the upper 30's since I got the heater I had it up and running in about two hours and have kept it set at 58 deg in the evening and if I plan to do work in the garage I turn it up to 65 deg and in about an hour it has reached the 65 temp It has been great to get out of the house in the winter the heater seems to level out in an hour and doesn't stay on but about 3 times per hour being an electrician I know that the cost is minimal to run the heater the area is 23 feet by 29 ft I do have the garage insulated and drywalled finished. Very glad I ordered the heater wish I had done it much sooner.

We bought this unit to heat the room above our detached garage. The room is about 750 sq. ft. and this heater warms it like a champ. The unit itself is surprisingly small. It heats the room up very quickly which is great since we don't run it all the time. So far the power bill isn't too bad either. I highly recommend this heater for garage/shop areas.

At first seats were too far from unit resulting in cool draft when first turned on. Now unit is quite comfortable. If possible, I would probably opt for a slightly lower fan speed to reduce sound.

This unit was bought to heat an office space at one of our sports complexes. The area to heat was of about 600 sq. feet. The building was two stories and had a central unit for the top floor, which had the controls for it us-stairs. To get the downstairs warm enough the upstairs was way to hot. This unit was just what I needed for space heating downstairs. I mounted the unit to the ceiling and installed a 240 volt ac appliance cord on the unit and ran a 30amp, 240 volt ac circuit with a 240 volt 30 amp rated receptacle for it to plug into.

The G73 units we purchased we're very easy to install overhead in our wood shop. Running power cables were just as easy. With our two units set in a manner that the air if moved in circular pattern which moves the air very well. The units run very good and heat was very warm with the thermostat keeping the heat at a desired level. Recommend that numbers be marked on the dial so it would be easier to set the desired temperature(s). The only drawback is the electric bill increased greatly, but by resetting the temperature(s) we believe we have the electrical supply under control. At this point we are very pleased with the G73 and their performance.

After days of searching the internet for the best garage heater, I decided to purchase the G73. I had it professionally installed from the ceiling in our two car garage. I have a couple of cats who stay outside for the most part (they hate the dogs!) and I have used smaller floor model heaters in past winters and always feared that they would start a fire. The G73 is set on low and even on the coldest day/night, the garage is nice and comfy for the cats. It is thermostatically controlled and I've never had to adjust it from the low setting. After years of struggling with worries about the other heaters, extension cords, etc, I finally have peace of mind and a wonderfully warm garage for Sahara and Serenity, the cats!

I had another and it lasted five years. I use it to heat a sunroom here in Michigan during the winter to keep the plants alive. The glitch was the thermostat burned out after four months. Ordered and got a new one at a cost of forty bucks, but the new one was much heavier duty and so far has worked well. I love the unit, much quieter, and uses less electricity. Generally, very pleased, like the fact I could mount it up high on a beam so usage is much more efficient.

The G73 heater is an excellent product with the exception on one thing. The thermostat only goes to 50 degrees Fahrenheit = 10 degrees Celsius. This is fine if you live in a warmer climate during winter time. I had to replace the thermostat with a low temp thermostat because I only wanted my garage (during winter) to be a max of 1 Celsius.

I live in Michigan and the winters are cold, I am restoring my car and with the heater I can go out and work on my car and it is sixty degrees inside. My garage is detached from my house, the walls are insulated, the ceiling is covered in 4ml plastic and I insulated the garage door with Styrofoam. Once I finish putting the plastic up I am sure it will be even warmer, it was 27 degrees outside and I was working in my shirt sleeves. It is a great little heater!!!!!!!!

I mounted the heater to my garage ceiling with the provided bracket. Did a thorough check for proper installation. After being satisfied, turned on the breaker (30amp) in breaker panel. In about 10 mins my 45 degree garage was a toasty warm 75 degrees So far the heater has maintained a temp. of about 75 degrees. My wife and I can now use our garage for working out and also when my musical friends come over and want to do the garage band thing. I recommend the G73 Garage heater for anyone who wants to utilize their garage during the cold winter months for whatever they need their garage for. It is well worth the effort and low price!

cost of running?

I didn't even no it was running no big or I would notice I keep my car garage 60%
- Richard H. on 04-17-2014
Answer:
I Have been running 1 for two years in a business Had two many walls Had two add 1 more Have had no problems with either one Heats 340 Sq Ft with door opening all the time really good good safety feactures
- Michael A. on 04-17-2014
Answer:
No way for me to know that because I don't know how many hours you plan on using it per day. I don't use it daily. I can tell you that when I work in the garage for a couple of hours and the starting room temp is 40 degrees and when turned on in about 20 minutes the temp is 70 degrees. It will not run constantly because of the thermostat. I am well pleased with the unit. I added a circuit breaker and a wall switch for the unit. Just running it in that time span I don't notice a big change in my bill. That is all the help I can give you.
- Larry L. on 04-17-2014
Answer:
I can't say for sure...but we used it all winter long, and a horribly cold winter it was. We kept it on the lowest setting to keep the garage above freezing and would occasionally raise it if we were out there for extended period of time. I noticed a slight bump $5-10 a month in the bill. I have a finished garage and it worked well.
- Ken F. on 04-19-2014
Answer:
I live in northwest Iowa. The winter of 2013-2014 was pretty cold, as we all know. My bill during the coldest month, temps were below 0 thru the teens, with a couple days of wind chill down to -50 degree's. I kept my setting between 3&4, which kept it at 45-50 degree's. It cost me about $45 more for that month. My garage/shop is 14'x40'. the back half 14' x 20'. is my shop, well insulated. The front half is not insulated, cold storage for my truck, etc etc.. I would recommend this heater. Richard W

- darrin m. on 04-20-2014
Answer:
This heater is amazing. I have it in my 500 Sq ft garage with high ceilings. Though it is heavily insulated I am sure it would have no problem heating it up to temp in no time. It takes about 15 minutes the get it warm enough to work on my car in summer clothing when it was -48 this last winter. During our worst month this winter the heater only added $20.00 to my electric bill. ( I keep the heat at 60 degrees unless Im out working in the garage.)
- tony d. on 04-18-2014
Answer:
It is excellent. Completely safe being hardwired in by a professional electrician. Perfect performance & very economical with the thermostat in it. Even in these severe Colorado Winters the cost of running it isn't even hardly noticeable. It's a great heater! No more frozen food or frozen bottled water kept out in the garage and since we have to bring the dog into the garage during the Winter, he loves it in there now.
- Craig M. on 04-17-2014
Answer:
For 1000 sq ft garage we spent approximately $12 on a 30 degree month, $50 on a 10 degree month, and $85 on 0 degree month. Temperature was set to stay at approx 45 degrees.

Question:
Does this heater use a 110 volt out let?
- Anonymous on 10-06-2014
Answer:
No, its 220.
- Quentin H. on 10-07-2014
Answer:
No, 220 volt
- Larry L. on 10-06-2014
Answer:
No...this heater requires a 220 volt connection. When it arrived, I went to the hardware store and purchased a 220v plug and some wire...so I could connect the unit's 3 leads to the wall. I mounted my heater near an existing 220 volt receptacle...so this was pretty simple. (However...you could need an electrician if you don't already have an open 220 volt receptacle close to the area you plan to mount the heater.) I'm pleased with the way my heaters perform. (I have one installed in the garage....and two others installed in a 30' x 50' metal building.) The thermostat feature is great....because this heater can warm things up pretty quickly.
- Jerry W P. on 10-06-2014
Answer:
No, this heater uses 220 volts and must be directly wired to the service panel with a 30 amp breaker. If you're not familiar with doing this type of work, call a licensed electrician for the installation.
- John H. on 10-06-2014
Answer:
I had a licensed electrician come in. He suggested that I allow him to install a 220v outlet for this unit. I followed his advice, and as such, I have not had any problems. The electrician also installed a hard wired plug to this heater, which plugged into the 220 v outlet that he installed. I hope this helps.
- samuel p. on 10-06-2014
Answer:
We had to change our outlet to 240 volts.
- Norma J. T. on 10-06-2014
Answer:
I do not recommend using a normal 110 outlet. At 5000 watts I elected to have an electrician install a dedicated line and breaker switch.
- Peter D. on 10-06-2014
Question:
Is this unit safe to leave on all the time?
- Anonymous on 11-12-2014
Answer:
It turns on & off with changes in the temperature. We have it in a garage 100 miles from our home where we store our boat and summer things. It keeps the area at the level we choose. Electric bill about $30 a month during winter.
- Norma J. T. on 11-12-2014
Answer:
This unit is safe to run all the time. I from northwest Iowa, and it was very cold here in the winter of 2013. I ran it all winter long. It kept my 14 by 20 ft. shop at about 50 degrees on setting 3. I hope this information help's out.
- Richard W. on 11-15-2014
Answer:
I have left mine on all the time during the cold months without incident.
- Darren H. on 11-15-2014
Answer:
We have had the heater for about a year and we turn it to the lowest setting in the summer and it does not turn on. When we need it in the winter we turn the knob to low or medium and it heats the two car garage quickly then turns of by itself. When we don't need the heater in the winter we just turn it to the lowest setting link in the summer and it stays off. In our experience this is a safe and efficient heater. We are completely satisfied.
- John O. on 11-12-2014
Answer:
I would say yes. The unit has a thermostat dial on the back side that allows you to control the temperature, so it will turn on and off as needed. Just make sure you follow the mounting instructions provided as the unit must be mounted off the ground and the outside casing does get hot.
- Ken F. on 11-12-2014
Answer:
Yes live in Michigan heat my two car garage all winter.
- Roger C. on 11-12-2014
Answer:
The unit should be safe to leave on all the time. It comes equipped with safety shut off controls that will cause the unit to not run if it overheats and it also has a thermostat to regulate usage. Obviously the more the unit is used, the more wear and tear it is going to experience though, as with any product.
- Mark S. on 11-12-2014
Answer:
As long as it's installed correctly, I believe it's safe to leave on all the time. I don't usually need to heat my shop during the night, but I've left it on for a few days continually with no issues. Since it's thermostat controlled, it cycles on and off.
- John H. on 11-12-2014
Answer:
We only use this in our shop. We do not leave it on all of the time. Most the time we turn it on to heat it up, return to the shop when it is warm and work. We have never left it on all night. I am not necessarily saying it isn't safe to leave on all of the time, but we never have. Hope this helps you.
- R O. on 11-15-2014
Question:
Is the fan adjustable?
- John Tennant on 11-19-2014
Answer:
Is there a thermostat involved? To be adjustable it must be adjustable to turn on and off. Great fan for the cost and works well on heating cold areas.
- Sandra N. on 11-20-2014
Answer:
no. Fan is one speed constant rpm.
- Keith G. on 11-19-2014
Answer:
Yes, mine has a rheostat knob to adjust the heat. It does not adjust the fan speed though.
- Michael D. on 11-19-2014
Answer:
Vents adjust up and down and base will pivot
- bryant h. on 11-19-2014
Answer:
The fan is not adjustable.
- Christine M. on 11-19-2014
Answer:
John, the unit is adjustable on the bracket as a tilt feature. The fan has only one speed and is thermostat adjusted. I live north of Chicago with a 2.5 car garage and this unit maintains around 60 degrees throughout the winter, but it would keep it much warmer if I desired it to. I had a professional electrician install mine and I'm very pleased with the unit.
- Tony K. on 11-19-2014
Answer:
Hi John... The fan is one speed and of course controlled by the thermostat. It's a great unit and works perfect in my 2 car attached garage. Hope this helps
- Ernest G. on 11-19-2014
Answer:
Yes. just one knob. Generally don't need to change it all winter.
- Catherine G. on 11-19-2014
Answer:
The front vanes adjust up and down. Mounted from the top, the heater can be rotated somewhat left or right (swiveled). From a temperature standpoint, it took about 4 hours to raise the temperature in my 900 sq. ft. garage from 41 degrees to 60 degrees. The fan seems to run at only 1 speed.
- Lowell D. on 11-19-2014
Answer:
No. The only adjustment is the temperature thermostat dial.
- jeffrey p. on 11-19-2014
Question:
what size breaker do I need 20 amp or 30 ?
- Anonymous on 11-29-2014
Answer:
The electrician installed two 30 amp breakers for each heater. I believe they were hard wired to the breakers. The units work well. I would recommend these if you have no gas source again great little units with a punch.
- Kim H. on 11-30-2014
Answer:
I am using a30 amp breaker. I also use a lathe on the same circuit that supposedly pulls 20 amps and a dust collector that pulls 13 amps. This heater is rated at 22 amps I think ... but am sure it doesn't draw that much. It does an excellent jog and is a good buy.
- Gary B. on 11-29-2014
Answer:
I am using a 20 amp breaker
- shawn b. on 11-29-2014
Answer:
My heater is hard wired on a 220 volt, 30 amp circuit.
- Lester F. on 11-29-2014
Answer:
You will need a 30 amp
- Richard L. on 11-29-2014
Answer:
I used a 30 amp breaker. That is what was recommended for a heat producing unit. I've used mine for long extended periods of time, two weeks. I've had no problems. Also I'm selling my house and it was inspected by a thorough inspector and he had no problem with it.
- Gary L S. on 11-29-2014
Answer:
I wired in a 100 amp subpanel, 3 circuit and use the 30 amp breaker for the heater.
- David M. on 11-29-2014
Answer:
Had it wired professionally - he used a 40 watt breaker
- Charles L. on 12-01-2014
Answer:
Your would need a 30 AMP Breaker for this unit.
- Christine M. on 12-04-2014
Question:
I see that it has a thermostat, but does it have a inn off switch? or do you need to connect it to s switch?
- alan r. on 11-30-2014
Answer:
Alan, Good morinig. I have my unit hard wired and mounted on the garage wall. The dial switch can either be turned down (off) or dialed in to any desireable setting you require. It works very well for my double car garage. Regards, Ron
- Ronald K. on 12-01-2014
Answer:
Alan, there is a control knob. you can turn it off or set it from 1 to 5. The only problem that I have is that it hangs from the ceiling and I do have to get up and down on a ladder to set it. It would be nice to have a remote control to be bale to control from the floor. I have a 2 car garage and so far I have it set for 1 and this has kept the garage at 60 degrees. So far I'm very happy. George
- George B. on 12-01-2014
Answer:
This unit comes with a single pole thermostat.
- Christine M. on 12-02-2014
Answer:
No, the unit does not have an on/off switch. I use the breaker switch in my panel to turn it on/off. My panel box in garage is fairly close to the heater.
- William Q. on 11-30-2014
Answer:
It does not have an On/Off switch, so you must turn it off through your circuit breaker box if you have to turn it off for a long period of time. During the install, you might wire in a switch, but I did not do this. Instead, I turn the thermostat dial all the way until it stops (counter clockwise) and this does the trick for temporary shut down. I plan to use the circuit breaker in the spring to shut it down during the warmer months. Hope this helps.
- Kenneth P. on 11-30-2014
Answer:
No on off switch.
- Mark O. on 11-30-2014
Answer:
The dial is numbered 0-9 with zero being off and 1 the lowest temp and 9 running almost all the time. I had tried to wire in a thermostat on the wall with temperature settings but I couldn't get it to work so I just went with the factory dial. Other than that it works great in my 800 sq ft garage but my garage is Insulated. It can be 10 degrees out and it will cycle on and off and hold at 65. I've gotten the temp as high as 78. Hope this helps!
- mark A. on 11-30-2014
Answer:
No switch I just go by the clicking noise
- CARMEN T. on 11-30-2014
Question:
So you have to install 240 ? Doesn't work on regular 220 v right?
- Anonymous on 12-07-2014
Answer:
Yes, we had ours installed by an electrician. It has made a huge difference in the temperature of our garage & in the temperature in the room above the garage. I wish we had bought one sooner! It works great!
- Yolanda L. on 12-08-2014
Answer:
This unit will work on a 220 V line as 240 & 220 are interchangeable.
- Mark S. on 12-08-2014
Answer:
When I bought this I was not aware that it did not have a cord and plug to just plug into the wall. As of yet I have not gotten an electrician to tell me how to properly install it. Lew
- Lew L. on 12-08-2014
Answer:
Don't buy this...very complicated and expensive installation...returning mine.
- Kimberly M. on 12-08-2014
Answer:
Mine works on 220 no problem
- Vincent C. on 12-08-2014
Answer:
Its the same thing. It starts ??s 240V and you may see a drop to 220V due to resistance at the heater. So no worries.
- Fred C. on 12-08-2014
Answer:
What people call 220v is Actually 240v. you do need to use a 30 Amp dual pole circuit breaker and 10/2 electrical wire. If you get a multi tester on What you are calling a 220 V circuit, you should see that you have 240 V. Hope this info helps. Make sure you don't use Anything lighter than 10/2 wite or the wire will get too hot, And that is definately not How you would want to wire this heater.
- Glenn L. on 12-08-2014
Answer:
yes, just wire receptacle to std 220 grid w/ground. 30 amp circuit breaker (appliance draws 21 amps). chose appropriate gauge wire for the length of run of receptacle, usually 10 gauge for most purposes. i always shut off circuit @ breaker box when not in use. this unit does not actually have a shut off switch, just thermostat setting high or low. once installed, this is a great auxiliary heater. overhead fans help when using it
- Mark S. on 12-08-2014
Answer:
I installed with no issues using 10/3 wire and a 30 amp breaker that is giving around 220 volts. Heater works great for my garage which is right about 440 sq ft with 10 foot ceiling
- John A. on 12-09-2014
Question:
how does the two black wires L1 & L2 hook in to the 30 amp double pole breaker ?
- Ted M. on 02-02-2015
Answer:
This unit requires an professional electrician for installation.
- Christine M. on 02-04-2015
Answer:
If you do not know the answer then HIRE an electrician.
- Anthony A. on 02-03-2015
Answer:
The instructions will tell you to run a supply line from the cicuit breaker to a juction box, then run another line from the junction box to the unit. I just ran the line from the circuit breaker to the unit. The supply line had a black and white wire and it did not matter which black line was connected to the supply line wires. I can not imagine that your unit lines are long enough to reach your circuit breaker but if they are it should not matter which black wire is hooked up to the terminals on the cicuit breaker. (One on top and one on the bottom)The only thing that could happen is the circuit breaker would shut off when you turn the unit on. Then you just have to reverse the black wires but I don't think you will have to worry about that happening. I am assuming you are using a separate breaker for your unit as well.
- Larry L. on 02-02-2015
Answer:
I wish I could tell you. I had an electrician wire mine in the garage. I can say that these heaters work great once they are installed. You can use them when you need them then turn them off when not needed by adjusting the thermostat, very efficient.

Question:
Can you use a 110 to 220 step up converter to use the heater anywhere?
- Windell W. on 03-16-2015
Answer:
Hi Windell, Just wanted to point out that this unit does not come with a power cord and has to be hardwired. Also this unit should not be installed less than 6 feet above the ground. We would not recommend using a step up converter.

Answer:
I am not sure. I believe it would depend on the specifications of the circuit that it was running off of. I would not do it.

Answer:
Don't have an answer for you because I am running mine off of a 220 breaker

Question:
Can a external thermostat be wired to unit (better quality than knob)?
- LOUIS V. on 11-29-2015
Answer:
Hello, Yes, you can use an external thermostat with this unit as long as it meets the wattage and voltage requirements.
- Mark S. on 11-30-2015
Answer:
probably not. it would be easier to chose another unit that's set up for an external thermostat. having said that, this small heater works great in my small shop, it's abt. 425 ft square.

Yes, I was able to use a Cadet Bi-Metal Thermostat - Double Pole, 120/208/240 volt, 22 amp, Model #T410B. Hope this helps you.

Question:
I am thinking about buying the G73 for my garage. I see that many people have used 10/3 wire and plug to plug in to a 220/240 outlet. My question is, I have a dryer recepticle in my garage that I would possibly use to power this unit, I beleive it has the NEMA 10-30P configuration, its a 3 wire connector, can I use a dryer chord that is 6 ft, or possibly but the 10/3 wire and the proper plug. If I use the 10/3 wire, would about 10-15 feet be ok ? Thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated
