Winix WAC5500 HEPA Air Purifier With PlasmaWave Technology

I like the way it detects the air quality and automatically turns on to a higher setting to eliminate the odor. I'm a smoker and about a minute after i light a smoke it cranks up the fann speed. My wife is not a smoker and says it does a good job to get rids of the smoke odor. I bought one for my upstairs office and just purchased another one for downstairs. No complaints so far

great product for the home with pets and people who smoke. It clears the air and I leave it on auto as it senses the change in air quality.

price is high, but much better than other filter i had. very low noise.

I was away on vacation when it arrived so I have had only a few days to use it. I wish it had some sort of handle to make it easier to move around. It is a bit noisy but not too much so. I am still wondering how you wash a paper filter but will find out when the time comes. I like the idea of washable filter since they cost alot. It is easy to use. Could not give it a 5 because I have not used it long enough to know how well it works. As far as air and water as a company I recommend them, sale went great and was delivered on time. I am sure if I have any issues they will take care of them. Would buy from them again.

When I plugged it in, it immediately started changing the air quality. By the time it finished purifying the air, when you breathed, you could feel the freshness of the air. This is great and I recommend this product to everyone, especially if you suffer from allergies. Trust me, you will definitely be able to tell the difference in the air quality.

I read a lot about the Winix WAC5500 PlasmaWave HEPA Air Purifier before I bought one. It's great! Quiet! Filters significant air. Light-weight. Looks good. Reasonable controls. Nice remote. Nice that it comes with several replacement carbon pre-filters and a washable several times HEPA filter. Just add electricity, and it should run for a long time. I like the three levels visual air quality display because it gives me an idea how my air is doing, and it runs the fan speeds up and down accordingly. Or you can just set the fan speed you want. Like others, I wish it had a carrying handle or two. It's so light that moving it is not a problem. But the plastic is a bit slippery. A carrying handle would be the icing on the cake on this great air filter unit. It operates spectacularly quietly in the lower 3 speeds. And even the turbo mode is quiet enough to run it in that mode if I'm in the next room. I've not heard anything from the PlasmaWave. I wish in a way there was some sort of indicator when it zaps things in the air stream. Perhaps a flashing light somewhat hidden, a viewing window into the PlasmaWave with black light paint, something to indicate its specific actions. In case you wondered, yes, it's quiet!

Ordered this on Sunday night and received it by noon on Tues. WOW!! Great service delivery! Awesome product, too! Best air purifier we have ever owned and we have had many! All of the positive reviews helped us make our decision. Might have to get another one for our upstairs! You will not be disappointed...quiet and efficient. We are impressed!

It only works on high fan when pollen and dust is present then shut down to low. Would recommend this product to any one with allergies.

Very quiet at lowest speed. Noisy at highest speed but displaces a lot of air so good for when you need a quick cleaning of the air or when you are away from the house. The plasma does make a small cracking noise so I just keep that off when I am home. Remote is very handy. I also bought the Therapure from Costco which is good, about half the price as the Winix. Not as quiet and filters aren't as thorough. I like that the air on the Winix displaces at the top so it isn't directed right at you. Highly recommend this product.

We love this Winix WAC5500 air purifier! We have a finished basement where we spend a lot of time with our two golden retrievers (who spend a good bit of time outdoors). This cleaner refreshed and cleaned the air, as well as, picked up the dog's hair floating in the air. I am purchasing another one for the adjoining room. Love it!
