Great little cooler
I bought one of these for a mobile office, so the room size it was cooling was about 200 square feet. I didn't install the casters as I made a shelf on the outside of a window. During the summer, it was getting around 100F, and this cooler worked well. Maybe even a little TOO well, as another reviewer said. Using the lower fan speed, this unit would easily cool that 200 sq ft room, sometimes to the extent of it getting a little chilly. For best effectiveness, you need to crack open a window on the far side of whatever room/building you are cooling to exhaust warm/moist air, and the cooler really needs to be outside the area to be cooled and blowing in. In the kit there are adapters that will allow you to either plumb a permanent water line like the larger units, or connect a regular garden hose to it if you are using it mobile. With as much air as this thing is capable of moving, it goes through water fairly quick. Before getting the permanent line plumbed, it would easily use 6 - 8 gallons of water on a hot day. Probably the best thing about this unit, if you live in a dry climate like here in southern Idaho, is that it is MUCH less expensive to run one of these little swamp coolers than to run a normal air conditioner. Amperage draw on these small coolers is about 1/5 that of a typical AC unit.

Very functional
We are in a dry climate -- northern Nevada -- where ambient humidity is generally 25 to 35% (at most). Evaporative cooling works well here. We try to minimize our use of air conditioning, and this helps. We use this cooler to maintain a consistent temperature in a server room. The room is only 15 by 10. It works well, maintaining a constant 75 in the server room -- 10 to 15 degrees cooler than its peak temperatures even with air conditioning running in the office. Humidity has been as high as 50% in the room (cool, moist nights) with this unit, but that's not a problem. Generally stays around 45%. The key thing -- and the Air and Water folks will tell you this -- is have a dry air flow for the unit to pick up and some sort of exhaust air flow to evacuate the moist air (if you are cooling a small space like ours). Our server room has an external exhaust fan that draws air out. This gives us a flow of cooled, moistened air through the room. We also just have the unit set in the open doorway of the room. Otherwise, it would probably get pretty humid in the room and become less effective. For a small space, the blower on this is probably a bit too much. Even on the low setting it moves a lot of air around. We had tried a less powerful unit than this for our server room -- it achieved the same effect with less ambient humidity. My conclusion is that this unit is right on the margin of "too big" for us. We went with this unit because it allowed us to plumb in a feed line (easily done). If you care, the pictures of the unit do not show you that there is no rear pad -- pads are only on the sides. Our unit arrived swiftly and in good condition. Fifteen minutes of assembly and it was working.

This product is poorly manufactured.
I was excited to get this cooler for a small bunkhouse on the ranch in West Texas. Everything looked normal when I removed it from the box, so I didn't think I would need to keep the box. Several hours later I got around to plugging the unit in and the blower cage was seriously rubbing on the housing making quite a bit of noise. Poor manufacturing. One of the water nozzles was also broken and I am attempting to get replacement parts to fix. I believe this unit will do as advertised, but it will take a bit of work to get it there. I haven't contacted Air-N-Water as of this writing.

Best 400.00 we every spend
My wife and I sell Plants at flea Markets and at trade days.We have to be outside under our tent.We have tried all kind of fans from 25.00 ones to the big 250.00 dollars ones.We saw this cooler on line and bought one.I wish we had found this years ago. This evaporative cooler is buy far the best investment in an out side item we have ever bought. We are surely thinking about getting another one to keep at our house in the garage for when we boil crawfish or crabs and shrimps .We could also use it when we barbeque. It cools the air around us by about 20 degrees.when it 105 and you can get it to 85 thats super.Everybody at the market was around our cooler. Then if you add little block of ice in the water man it cools even more.Great product will tell all of our friends about it

Great product! Fast Shipment
Works great in Oklahoma in the heat, if the humidity is too high it is less effective but works great in hot dry climate. Thanks Air & Water

Symphony SPM 20 Portable Evaporative Cooler
The cooler arrived on time for a party! Thank you! BUT, the cooler was not "squared" so the side panels did not fit well. One panel is almost impossible to remove for cleaning. The fan was hitting the safety hub so hard that it could not turn. We had to remove the safety hub so the fan could turn. It looks as if the axile is bent. It worked for the party, but now when the panel is removed you must be very careful about fingers gettting caught in the fan! aka TURN IT OFF! If we were not having a party, we would have sent the cooler back. It will still help cool the deck in this record breaking heat.

Not as easy to use as stated in description
We ordered this for our multiple meeting rooms so we could wheel it from place to place. The desription said "open box and plug in.. ready to use". this is not the case. We opened it up and the wheels had to be installed with a specific tool, then other parts had to be installed. It took over an hour of set up to get this "ready to use". Once we finished we had to add about 8 pitchers of water to the bottom on the cooler. Very inconvenient. The seal was dripping so we then had to slowly drain the water out. Needless to say it wasn't working for us and we shipped it back (at our expense). Not the best.

It does what its is supposed to but...
I live in the Midwest where the summers are very hot and humid. I was once in Utah in the summer where I remember someone renting a cooler at an event that everyone was crowded around to cool off. That is what prompted me to purchase a cooler versus an AC unit. Once I got my cooler unpacked and setup, which only took about 1/2hr, I liked the immediate cool breeze emitted from the front of the unit. However after running it for the better part of a work day, the only difference I noticed was in the amount of humidity in the air and not an actual temperature drop. If you live in a hot, humid area I suggest something that dehumidifies the air, not a cooler. I sold it later that week. JMO.

Great Product
Instructions a little fuzzy but can be figured out with a little effort. Once installed cooler worked like a champ. We have installed it in a yurt and with these 100+ degree days the Symphony cooler has made the days bearable. Works all day long with no problem. Since we are in a yurt with fabric walls all our outlets are on the floor. As a precaution we added a water shut off valve at the hose connection in case we should have a water overflow. In the last couple of months it has worked fabulously well.

Just OK
The float doesn't shut off when the tank is full most of the time. The fan motor is a little to fast on low and that does not alow the air to cool as well as it could. Over all it seem OK.

Great for extra cooling
I bought this to put on the stage for our bar & grill to use when we're busy and the air conditioning just can't keep up. We use it during karaoke and trivia nights to cool the stage and seating area in front of it. We can't use the hose connection since there isn't a spigot around but we just carry buckets of water earlier in the day. It has really helped and complaints about the heat have stopped. We can't use a portable air conditioner that uses freon because there isn't any place to exhaust to.

Happy Yurt Dweller
Bought this unit to use in our newly erected 30 ft yurt. The only problem we encountered was water leaking out of the side pads. This continued until I discovered I had installed them upside down. Once this was corrected, the cooler worked like a charm. Plenty of air circulation and the temperature dropped by about 20 degrees inside the yurt. I highly recommend this product to anyone living in a dry, low humidity area.

The ordering process
The ordering process was easy and after reading so many wonderful reviews and comparing this site to others, I had to order here. After I receive the cooler, I'll update this review. Thanks. Johnny.

Just bought this swamp cooler to cool our small warehouse. It's great for adding some humidity to the dry air here in Vegas and covers a good amount of space (our area is about 1,000 square feet). We haven't seen our electricity bills yet, but this unit is way less expensive and easier than any other option we have.
