Poor workmanship and performance
The body was built in plastic and the edges were corroded looking. It was not a smooth clean finish. As for the performance the honeycomb pad got wet only in 1 area. It was a 1" strip that got wet so it did not have enough cooling. It was more like a fan. On the whole and a very cheap constructed product

The worst cooler(swamp cooler)
There's no where to add the water. As a fan, there are fans that are better and doesn't cost like the fan. It someone wants to buy this, I would tell them to run away, and buy a good fan than this 'cooler'.

Product cools great and has a powerful blower
I live in west Texas where the low humidity allows evaporative coolers to work great. This product has large cardboard media which has a lot of surface area. Therefore it cools very well. It is also easy to maintain.

Best bang for your buck!
This little Ninja packs a punch for cooling down a sweltering room in the heat of the summer. Even with the humidity we had this year the powerful motor blows extremely well even at lowest speed. I researched and compared this with several of comparable cost and this is indeed the best bang for your buck. I bought one for work and like it so well, I bought one for home so I'm not running the AC as often. The only things that could be improved are the water reciprocal could be larger opening for pouring water in, or to add ice. The blower is loud but the flow is so excellent it's either a little noise or some product that doesn't have a decent air flow.

It does have great features.
Its cooking hot here in the Pacific Northwest and being retired and in a "travel trailer 35 foot long" with no air conditioner I searched for something to save my life, well to be more comfortable at least, I'm 68 with bad eyesight, this unit is a breeze to use, hasn't missed a beat, is keeping me and my Border Collie nice and cool in what was 95 degrees in here and now down to the low 70's and the air is just like being on a tropical Island, I would highly recommend this reasonable unit to anyone who needs to stay cool and comfortable. Good quality product
It appears so far to be easy to use and maintain. On high, the noise level is noticeable, but at lower settings it is not so obtrusive. I had difficulties with the set up instructions and had to call customer service for guidance. The instructions manual could be improved with more specific instructions and better pictures.

I bought this air conditioner to cool a corner of the patio for my dog. The symphony ninja didn't cool well in the outdoor area,so I brought it into my kitchen when I was cooking. It made it much more comfortable. Although it didn't do what I got it for, it will be cooling my kitchen this summer. I'm very pleased.

Symphony Ninja Portable Evaporative Cooler
I will try to keep this review short. First, it will take 24hrs to cool down the space you are trying to cool due to its small size. Cord is too short! Cooler needs a bigger lip for pouring water into unit. If, you are in an apartment(one bedroom) it will drop temps down too 84 degrees at night and between 86-88 day....I must say, I live in Phoenix,Az and its 107 to 112 here at 10 pm. I keep unit in my front door when I'm home and this works best! Put unit in a sliding door or window or front or backdoor for best results. However, unit will work just placed in a room but not as well! This is where the wheels come in to play. You can move the unit around your dwelling! Unit could really use a handle tho! For the money this unit can't be beat!!! However! One big drawback at least with me....you will have to put in three gallons of water every 7 to 8 hours if you live in a really dry climate such as Arizona, Calif, New Mexico etc. Unit will save you a lot of money in the summer and keep you cool.

Thisproduct cooled the room size it was intended for
This is our second unit, the first one was the symphony Winter wich always blows cold air. We purchased this smaller unit for our office as we like the doors open throughout the day and makes a huge differance in the room temprature. It is a little more difficult to fill than our larger unit and the evaporation material in the back is a little less effeciant than our larger one but it does exactly what we wanted it to do and for the price its a deal. With both units running (one in office and other in shop) we both can work in comfort and without having the large cooling bills!

No Reservoir Access
There is no access to the reservoir. The only way to fill with water is to pour it directly through the filter, which is a guarenteed wet floor, so there is absolutely to way to put ice in the reservoir.

It is great. Powerful, long footage blowing fan, as promoted, and I seldom set it on high.
Again, just a great little product. I study "things" before I buy. I am using mine in Memphis, where there is the Mississippi River. Always just about as humid as on the Amazon, and this historic hot 2011 summer, very hot, and my Ninja resides in a 28' Airstream Motorhome, of 35 years age. It is NOT a substitute for an AC unit is this extreme environment, just a great support unit right now, but it is the only thing that runs overnight, and as soon as the Temps return to any sort of normal, the AC will become neglected and lonely. I recomment it to anyone & everyone. The only thing that is stronger & more workhorse, is my Subaru Outback, but anyone with even 70% of brainpower, already is familiar with that Legendary Vehicle. Just stop thinking, go out, and Buy One. Big Lar

Easy to use but doesn't cool very well
This product is decent for what you pay for it. The screen in the back is cheaply made and doesnt slide as well as it was intended. The fan in it works good and seems to blow well in my large bedroom. The main issue is that it doesn't cool as well as I was expecting. It made the room livable but only seemed to cool it down by about 5 degrees. It doesnt work in high humidity climates, and I live in Colorado and dont have much humidity at all and it still didnt cool that well.

Works pretty well for the money.
Product works well for a smaller room. It seems to work much better if oriented to receive hot air directly from outside - in front of a screen door on the west side of my house. It is an evaporative cooler, so the water seems to condensate much more efficiently this way. It is somewhat noisy, but so are all non-central air units. I can run it full bore for about 12+ hours without a refill. (Watch the gauge on refills as water will come through the overfill discharge.) For the money and for the ease of use/space issues I think this is a great unit.

A pretty strong little cooler
It would be very difficult to find another evaporative air cooler as powerful as The Symphony Ninja for the same price. This cooler has a very strong blower, even on low speed it produces a strong air throw which I really like about Symphony coolers. I do like the more efficient honeycomb pad media instead of straw which you find on some of the other Symphony coolers. They state that this unit will cool 150 sq. feet, but in my opinion at 650 cfm I think it could cool larger areas under ideal conditions. I'm very well pleased with the performance and price of this unit however there are some drawbacks to it. The description says there is a humidity control and ice chamber, there is none of these on the Ninja. You cannot run the fan seperately alone from the cooler function where as most other coolers you can and also the electrical cord is extremely short. There is only a small lip on the lower rear of the unit where you fill it with water. You are prone to spillage until you get used to it. Maintenance is near impossible because it is a sealed unit like other Symphony coolers I've owned. Despite these few negatives you cannot beat the powerful performance and budget price of the Ninja. I'm so pleased with it I just purchased another one of these to use in a seperate room of my apartment.

- Anonymous on 2014-04-17
Answer:
My Ninja hasn't ever dripped water, nor the one I bought for work. The only time I have ever dripped water on the floor is when I am pouring it into the reciprocal... because the opening is quite small.

- ALTON P. on 2014-04-17
Answer:
The unit has a water basin from which the air flow is saturated creating the cooling effect. Mine does not drip - it has no hose. I fill it, run it, and it cools the air (better and faster, when the air is dry, slower and less when the air is moist.) It's a nice unit.

Question:
i needed some cooling for the 2 small bedrooms upstairs, bought this unit but really hasn't done any cooling. Am I doing something wrong? should windows be open or closed? should doors be closed or open for each room? I put it on high and cooling only today, in between both rooms, trying to see what happens today, should be 96 outside, we have no humidity in san jose, california...any suggestions? rooms are small one is about 140 sq ft the other alittle larger..is this why perhaps it is not cool
- Y O. on 2014-05-14
Answer:
Hi. A window or door must be open to provide the proper circulation. I use mine in a very small space - about 50 square feet and it lowers the temperature between 10 and 20 degrees, depending on ambient temperature. From my research of evaporative coolers, it seems that these smaller units just don't have the cooling power for whole rooms, but they do a good job cooling the area directly in front of the unit. I've heard that they also work best positioned right near the source of outside air- generally right in front of a window or door.

Y O...I live in eastern new mexico, but am from the west coast...Believe me, if you are at sea level which you are, the swamp cooler will not work real well . swamp coolers really only work in very dry climates....to answer your question though...I put mine in front of an open door, or open window...I do close off the rest of the room....it works great!! make sure you put the control so that the water is being pumped through the filter... I use mine in a sunroom, that is about 200 square feet, and it does a great job. good luck to you.

Answer:
first you need to make sure the pad is wet ALL OVER IT you can see and feel it by raising the cover at the back where you add water and just look and feel it you should feel wetness all over the Pad I returned one cooler because it was not getting the pad wet ALLOVER I could her the pun and there was some cool in but not like it should be you need to place the unit where it can draw HOT air from outside into the unit this is how it cools is by wetting Hot air and then blowing it into the room there does need to be an opening like a window to allow the air to draw out this is a good place to fell the cool as the air exists the room This is not like an air conditioner or refrigeration unit where you need a closed system this system works by air moving in the room and around you Also raise the cooler UP as high as you can get it as cool air drops so the higher the cooler the more air movement you will get I live in Tucson Az have two small rooms I have one Ninja in each room I really don't need them on High not till the temperature gets higher i.e.100's or better the temp here has been 95 one or two days so far and I used both coolers then I think trying to cool both rooms with one Ninja is not the best Idea It has been upper 80's lately and I have been using only one Ninja but the other room stays warmer by a lot after all these are cost effective drawing only 90 watts the electricity it uses is minimal for the cooling it does Also I put the pump switch on the first position {cooling} the others especially the last {swing} seems to stop the pump from wetting the pad I found no instructions about this to sum up make sure the pads are wet all over the unit is drawing Hot air into the back of it and the higher the better

Question:
I bought this recently but the pump quit. May I get instructions on how to open it to replace parts?
- Genifer L. on 2014-06-16
Answer:
There are five screws to remove. One in the back and two on each side. Snap the top off and there are two more screws. Remove all of them and it snaps apart with some effort. The hose to the pump came a loose on mine and I connected it and it works great

Answer:
I am not sure why i recieved this question in my email with an message to answer it? I am just a customer that also purchased one of these. It looks fairly simple to use a long screwdriver to open th two halves, but i really havent given it much thought. I think this question would be much better directed to the bussiness owners rather than the customers. im sorry to hear that your quit working. i hope you are able to repair it.
