Excellent replacement for old baseboard units in rental house.
Purchased five (5) units to replace 20+ year old metal baseboard units in a rental house. After reading favorable reviews from satisfied customers in MN, I felt confident these units would perform well in SC. I very pleased with the quick response and quiet operation. I will continue to replace old units in other houses with these hydronic units. The electrician installed all 5 units in less than 3 hrs. He, too was impressed with ease of installation and performance of units and plans to recommend to other clients. Interestingly, these are manufactured in my home state of SC.

I am delighted to haver found exactly the same heater that i had purchased 15 ywears ago.I purchased two heaters 15 years ago for my newly constructe
Water and they had the same model. I ordered it receiving an excellent price and an unexpected discount and no shipping. It arrived in very good time. Our workman installed it in 15 minutes and we were back in business. He and I were amazed with the ease the whole process took.

I use the product as a baseboard heater for the condo. It looks great and works great. Unit is quiet.

I really like the heater model #HBB1004 that I purchased as it is very well made. The front panel should be better protected when shipping out so that when the UPS driver squeezes the box into his truck the front panel is not scraped.

Bought 2 48 long HBB1004 heaters to replace an old 96 and a 60 in my basement. New ones are warmer than the older larger baseboards and my electric bill has gone down. Great construction and a good looking unit also. I plan to buy more. Air-n-water also had the best price I could find and the shipping was fast.
5.0 Star Rating: Outstanding
The HBB1004 at about 4 feet long replaced 2- 8 foot long older hydronic heaters about 20 years old. The room in the basement is warmer now with half as much heater and a lot less amperage usage. The internet shopping experience with air-n-water was quick and simple. Loved all the detailed specs and other data so I could compare other brands and prices. Very satisfied.

Good product, fast shipping.

Our 1970 ranch-style home is built on a concrete slab, and does not have many options for heating other than electric. I have been systematically replacing the original baseboard heaters (240V) with the HBB hydronic units. Although a straight like-for-like xmlnsnt would be about a quarter of the cost of this unit, the benefits make up for it. We are able to place furniture closer to the baseboard without fear of fire; expansion clicks are almost gone; and the liquid mass in the unit has enabled me to size some of them a bit smaller than the units I replaced. Q-Mark's instructions are very clear, and you can plan an install in under 90 minutes (including taking out the old register). Of special note: the latest unit I purchased was shipped with a cracked end-cap. A quick email to Air-n-Water, and a new end-cap was sent to me promptly. Great service!

Need advice? More information?

can I connect two heaters to one thermostat?
- Paul L. on 08-27-2014
I'm going to back off my previous answer. The manual shows how to hook 2 heaters to a single power source, if you did that and used a wall thermostat instead of the unit specific one it might be possible.
- Peter H. on 08-27-2014
Pretty sure not. The thermostat unit just fits inside one of the end caps with a simple number dial on the outside . Don't think you can hook two units together in sequence, but then again I'm not A HVAC tech, just a guy.
- Peter H. on 08-27-2014
If the amperage rating of the thermostat you will be using is sufficient to handle both heaters, then you should be able to run both heaters off of the same thermostat.
- Timothy H. on 08-27-2014
You can add multiple heaters to one thermostat as long as you don't exceed the amp rating limit for that thermostat. Check your thermostat product data for maximum allowable amps then check the overall amp load added for each heater. Alternative solution would be to break your space into separate heating zones if you have too many heaters that exceed the max amp rating for the one thermostat.
- Roger F. on 08-27-2014
I dont think so. I only did one thermostat directly on the heater.
- Carrie C. on 08-27-2014
I am not sure. I have a thermostat for every heater. I think it is best to ask an electrician.
- Judy S. on 08-28-2014
I don't believe you an connect two heaters; however, the factory would be the best source for this information.
- Judy S. on 02-08-2015
We had Intertherm baseboard heat 35 years ago. Is this comparable?
- G S. on 02-05-2015
Yes it is. I grew up in a house with hot water baseboard heat 40 years ago and I think the amount and type of heat these put out is very similar.
- Peter H. on 02-06-2015
While silent at first, after about a year of use the element has started making noise when it kicks on, metal heating up or maybe the liquid in the element. Anybody else experience this?
- Peter H. on 03-24-2015
Mine is a bit over a year old but sill fine. Works great actually.
- Mary M. on 03-25-2015
This is not normal for a baseboard heaters after one year.
