Great appearance - poor sound quality
I bought this to replace a previous electric insert. As I have a grandbaby who will be crawling soon, I went with the version that did not offer heat output. This insert looks lovely, but I never run the sound, not even though it offers both a high and low sound output. Most of the noises that are supposed to sound like burning and crackling I could tolerate, but there is a popping sound that is supposed to sound like a popping log, but instead sounds very fake and is really loud. If you want an insert for just the ambiance of the fire burning, get this as it is wonderful - especially for the money. If you are hoping to enjoy the sound of a fire, you might want to invest in another model, or a separate sound machine.
