Dr. Infrared Heater DR-968 Infrared Portable Space Heater

Very pleased with this heater. It is everything and more than I had hoped for. The heater is easy to use and it is very, very quiet. Shipping was very fast. I was plesantly surprised. Great product, great company and I would definately buy again and recommend to family and friends!

We recently moved to the mountains, the central AC/heat pump is old and will need replacing, we chose the infrared heater to help prolong the life of the pump. We use it in the LR along with our gas fireplace, haven't had to use the heat pump since our new heater arrived.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife.So far we are very satisfied..it heats very well,is very quiet and operates effeciently.

This product is outstanding. The thermostat feature works really good and the the comfort level in the room is definitely enhanced. It keeps the whole house heating system from repeated cycling, keeping the net wattage use lower than prior to the use of the PTC IR heaters. The PTC elements heat instantly and the blower fan has the soothing hum similar to a fireplace, sans cracking. Very pleased with the augmented comfort level in both the two coldest rooms in the house. Extremely pleased with my purchase and am glad I did. Product is supposed to heat up to a 1000 sq. ft. area. I found to heat an area of approx. 460 sq. ft. raising the beginning temperature from 52 degrees to 68 degrees took 4 hours. This was a much longer time span than I expected. If the starting temp. was 40 degrees I can't imagine how long it will take.

Quiet! Efficient! Love the size of the unit. 140 square foot bedroom is kept at the thermostat temp quickly and consistently.

This is my second Dr. Heater that I purchased from you. It is wonderful. I use one for downstairs and the other for upstairs. It heats an average size room beautifully. However, if you are looking to heat a large area, you might be better off purchasing two of these heaters.

Quiet, able to heat up while still in bed with remote control, not sure about the 1000sq ft thing but Honestly a great investment for heating up a room.

I was surprised at how fast this arrived after it was ordered! Great safety features and easy to use! We have it in an insulated shop approx. 800sq. ft. and it keeps it comfortable. Also I like being able to set the thermostat and leave it overnight and not worry about it being too cold next morning. We had an oil burner before and it was always drafty. Also it's like a fireplace when you first come in you can warm yourself in front of it.

Great heater and great price. Safe, effective at producing warm air. Being used in a hobby shop with no heat and bare insulation and room is comfy and warm. Will probably get another to use in the home to reduce LP gas expense. Recommend!

The unit does work OK, it just will not heat the amount of area they claim. I got it to heat are open living room/kitchen area. It's not much better then the 85 dollar space heater I already had. So I recommend it if you have a closed in room no more then 200-300 sqf..

Instant heat, thermostat, there is some fan noise but of much lower pitch than the little electric fan heaters. Wood color and appearance is awesome, size is just right for bedroom or family room. Remote control is handy. Customer service and shipping from Air&Water is the usual stellar service. Thanks.

My second TYPE heater to order and this is my favorite... it's the size and ease of use. It preforms and though I have not received my electric to know the saving. Based on my first quartz heater... I'm not concerned! I love the size, a little smaller but fits right in the room I'm using it in and does the job without a problem, making my bedroom, sitting rm and bathroom VERY COMFORTABLE. Would recommend!

Great product and service! Air & Water was very prompt in getting this product to me. We love this little heater. It works as advertised; it heats quickly and is whisper quiet. I haven't had it long enough to see any change on my electric bill, but I bought it as a supplemental space heater for our family room and it does the job well. The cabinet is well made and the wood compliments our wood floors and oak furniture perfectly.

This heater is amazing! This relatively small, lightweight heater will absolutely perform. The housing is constructed of attractive wood finish, the controls are straight-forward and easy to use, and it is easily rolled or carried from room to room. This heater can be adjusted to maintain heat in bedrooms, family rooms, or as I use it heat a large basement recreation room. I would definitely recommend this product as I believe the value is the best in the market.

have a 3 yr old so love that it will not burn her. heats my living room perfectly. only wish it wasn't on wheels or that they could be removed.

We already had a Dr Heater we purchased elsewhere last year.The place we got it from was no longer selling it so we took a chance on this one.This heater is exactly like our other one but we paid less for it with free shipping.We received it pretty quickly and it works great saving us a lot on heating bills.

This little heater made a huge difference in my living room where the cat door connects to the icy outdoors. I've tried several different heaters from Air and Water, and they were all good space heaters, but none of them comes close to comparing with the amazing infrared heater. It really does suck in cold air and re-distribute it as warm--even into other rooms, despite the "train-alignment of rooms" in my apartment, so well that I close my bedroom door at night because I prefer sleeping in a really low temperature. No matter where I am in my living room--at computer, in reading chair, on loveseat watching TV, I am warm, and that's definitely worth the cost. Haven't owned it long enough to speak re' "energy efficient," or relative cost, but I will next May when winter's over here.

Dr. Heater DR-968 puts out a comfortable heat. The floor of my landlord's rented house is not insulated, otherwise this very good heater might get a five-star rating. Being an infrared heater it took a week or two to get used to the fact that it heats all objects in the room, including me, the walls and the ceiling, but not the air. Oh but that cold carpeted floor is stubborn. AND I am using the house's forced air gas heat FAR LESS! The electric bill is somewhat higher (to be expected) but not appreciably so. All in all I am very happy with this heater and I recommend it. Plus, the Air & Water Company got it to me within four days and in excellent new condition.

This heater is working well for us. So far, we are happy with the way it works. The real test will be when the temperature gets into the teens and below.

We have not had this long enough to give it a real review but we've had a good experience so far.

We purchased this heater to try to save on propane. It is being used in our basement. This heater has done a wonderful job keeping the chill off. All we do is use the remote to turn the heater up during the day and down about 65 degrees at night. It's that simple. The Dr. Heater does the rest. Hopefully we can buy another one soon. As you can tell, we aren't dissappointed at all with this heater.

I bought the DR because I heard how great it works. I had no idea how great it does work. It is in the teens outside and our house is 72 degrees inside. We have NOT used our gas furnace yet this year. I get up everymorning and just can't believe how great it works. Also it soesn't take moisture out of the air like the gas furnace does. I wish I had bought this unit years ago I would have saved hundreds of dollars. Thanks Air & Water for this product and being so helpful

The product is excellent, but more than that the company was excellent. I had a computer glitch and inadvertently ordered 2 of these units. I emailed the company and they took care of the problem right down to the credit card refund. It doesn't matter how good the product is if you can't work with the company. The only reason I rated Energy Efficient as Good is because I haven't had it long enough to get an electric bill. But this heater is for my 88 year old mother who worries about the safety of these products and she is very satisfied. Her cat sits on top of it and her dogs lay in front of it. Everyone is warm and comfy.

We usually have two small electric heaters to help heat our living room and dining room. We put the Dr. Heater DR - 968 in the living room and soon found we did not need the heater in the dining room.

We just love this little infrared heater for helping keep our house warm and our gas bills down. It's lightweight so we can easily pick it up and move it to where we need it. I can use it around my daycare kids and pets since it stays cool on the outside. It is more similar to wood heat so it warms your body more thoroughly. It is so easy to operate we decided to buy another this fall for our 87 year old parents.

This product has all the features one needs to economically warm space in a home. It is attractive and efficient.

We are very happy with the heater so far,we only used it twice, for the nights that got a little chilly,the real test will be in the winter when it gets colder.

Just love the unit. It warms up a cold room in minutes. This is the best heater I have ever had. It heats quickly and evenly, doesn't dry the air out, is quiet when running and looks like a piece of furniture to boot. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for an affordable room heater.

I have a long, narrow living room with a picture window, that is open to a dining room, the entry way, and stairs leading up to the next level (house is a tri-level) We've had a lot of below 20 weather. Heat in the house is electric baseboard. With the Dr. Heater, our living room is slightly warmer without the baseboard heaters running constantly. The temp is around 60-64 (baseboard is set at 60 in living room, lower in other rooms). One Dr. Heater alone can't turn our room into a sauna, but it seems to be keeping it a few degrees warmer at about the same, or maybe slightly lower, cost as the baseboard alone. It is very quiet - the computer makes more noise - after a short time, you don't even notice it. We did find that setting it on an end table (stabilized to keep it from rolling) seems to help. I believe in a bedroom, or smaller, more shut-off room, it would work wonderfully. I like the automatic shut off if it gets dumped or too hot. We let it run all night, but do turn it off when we leave for the day. Our Dec. electric bill was $260 - it has been over $300 in years past, and the house wasn't significantly warmer if warmer at all at that cost - so the Dr. Heater doesn't seem to raise the cost. It doesn't instantly heat our house to 80, but I didn't expect anything to do that. It works well and does seem to be helping - and with our house - that's great.

We use gas heat as our primary source and a wood stove in our basement a secondary source. The wood heat warms our living room/kitchen area and our bedrooms are freezing! Being cold-natured, I had spent a lot of time sleeping on the sofa in the living room during the winter months. Not anymore!! Are bedrooms are now warm and cozy similar to the wood heat and our gas furnace hardly runs. Can't go wrong with this buy!

Love my heater. So easy to use. I have it set to where it turns on about 10 minutes before I get home from work. And, because it's so portable I can roll it in to my bedroom on those frigid nights in Ohio and sleep comfortably all night. I'm able to keep my central heat down to minumum without sacrificing comfort. Thinking of buying one for mydaughter who just bought her first home.

We enjoy our Dr.Heater which is in the family room downstairs I have highly recommended it to my friend and she is returning one she purchased from another company and will purchase a model like mine.

I like the quietness of the unit and the small size. It is very adequate for the space I'm heating. My only complaint is that it's required to unplug it every time it's not in use.

I have a tri-level house with base-board electric heaters, insufficient insulation, lots of windows, and a long, narrow living room that forms one side of a "circle" with the kitchen and dining room. It is very difficult (and expensive to heat). For the two weeks that I've been using the Dr Heater, it has been in the 20's during the day and colder at night. We run it except when we are gone. It seems to keep the baseboard heaters from running (they're set at 58-60) and actually keep the room in the low 60's. It probably helps with the rest of the house on a minor lever. Tracking our electric use, it looks like it uses the same amount of energy as the baseboard heaters alone - so with the Dr Heater we get a slightly warmer living area for approximately the same cost. In a smaller room or easier to heat house, I'm sure it'd be more effective. 2 units set at either end would probably be better than the one. It doesn't heat a room instantly, but it does help - even in our large living room. It is extremely quiet - our computer makes as much or more noise - similar fan sound and not obtrusive. I had hoped for it to do a bit better, but not surprised that it doesn't under the circumstances. As long as your expectations are realistic, I think most people would be pleased with it.

So far so good doesn't quite heat the whole room. The room is large and lengthy so I did not think it would but the amount of heat put out is serving us well we are definitely using much less oil for heat.

This little heater is a life saver. It made a big differance right out of the box. I really like this heater!

Shipping was very fast. The heater works very well and helps heat our upstairs so our furnace does not run constantly. Our upper floor is about 1200sq ft, outside temp. has been dropping into single digits at night and it keeps it in the upper 60's.

They said the Dr. Heater hardly makes a noise but that s not true, it makes a very annoying noise. But most importantly the heat that was produced did not feel like the real far infrared, I don t even think this is infrared, it s just convection heat. I know the difference right away, I can feel it. The air becomes dry with this product and there is air flow, hot air rising, then dropping, cooling off and re-heated again. With real infrared heating, the air is not heated but the walls and floors, and they radiate back, making it far more efficient, and comfortable to live in. Dr. Heater was really not energy efficient, and it did not save any money on my bill. So I just didn't see the value of this product, what is unique about it? I think very expensive for what it is? I mean, really, who wants a loud, a sort of wood-oven-box in their living room that makes an annoying sound when you are watching TV? Expensive as well, because I didn't save anything on bills, I don't earn the product back in time. This was not the product I was looking for; this definitely is not the future of heating!!!!!This has no unique selling points.

It heats better than I expected. I am using it to heat my family room. I have tried several different and this one is by far the best. I would and have recommended this unit to several of my friends.
