Soleus DP2-70-03 70 Pint Flat Panel Dehumidifier

Got this for a basement in NJ after Irene. Fortunately didn't get more than an inch in most parts of a finished basement, with limited air circulation. This is working well right out of the box and has improved the air quality immensely in the two weeks since I ordered. Big thumbs up to air and water customer service. Old dehumidifier was not working well so I found soleus through a forum on consumer reports and after checking westsidewholesalers where i had found some excellent prices previously, I came to air and water and they had westside prices beat. They did not have the model I wanted though so I called to see when it would be avail. Rep said it would not be in for several weeks but suggested another model. I did some quick research on that and called back with some questions. Rep got Soleus rep on phone and provided good answers so I ordered and received an additional discount than what was offered online. Easily beat price of westside and Amazon where this model also received good reviews. If you're looking at the pic of this dehumidifier, be assured in is much deeper than pictured. The Amazon pic is much more accurate, the dimensions are listed on the site here I believe and are accurate. The pic makes this model look very tall and narrow. One feature I was drawn to was ability to operate to 41 degrees. Have not had anywhere near those temps yet, but freezing was a problem on my old frigidairre. The only minor complaint is that some water will leak if you take the container out immediately after shutting off. Took a few times to realize you have to give it about 10 sec to get the last of the water out. Now when i say some water, it's actually only a few tbsps worth and the design accounts for it-there is a small indented reservoir on the top of the container to collect the remaining drips when being shut off. Other than that very satisfied with the performance, price, delivery. Seems well made, handle is easy to use, could probably be a little smoother in design to remove the container, but not a big flaw.

when I recieved my dehumidifier it would not work. Light on bucket level was blinking. Called Air & Water. They arranged to send it back and that it may have been damaged in shipping. After inspection of dehumidifier the side of it became unsnapped and was not allowing the full sensor to engage causing it not to work. Rather than send it back I was able to snap the case back together thus clearing alarm and shutoff. Works now. Only complaint is the heat it puts off into my bathroom where I use it. I live on the Texas coast and use home air conditioner almost year around which now has to work harder to keep home comfortable.

I wasted my money on cheaper dehumidifiers to save money but ended up wasting about $300 on 2 other dehumidifiers in the past 6 yrs. This one is bigger, more efficient and a LOT quieter! spend an extra 50-75 and get this one rather than a cheaper model
