Put together the great reviews by consumers on this product, as well as the long warranty and the moderate price (compared with similar capacity models of other brands) the Danby was my clear choice. Going on two months, the unit has performed flawlessly. (I used the supplied hose to automatically drain the water to a floor drain.) Our basement which was damp and musty, now has dry air and lower humidity; with the best part being that we can breathe better when we are down there. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

Yeah, mine worked great for about 6 months then it started leaking somewhere on the inside. The continuous drain would stop draining and water would go into the bucket and fill up or spill out if it didn't leak. There is not enough flow pressure to get it to actually move water into the continuous drain. I even leaned it back a little bit which would work for a while.

Most reviews commented about the high noise level and I concur. Since I intended to use the unit in an unfinished basement, noise was less important than performance. I'm satisfied that other favorable reviews reflect what you can expect from this dehumidifier. Can't say enough about the excellent service A-n-W gives to resolve customer concerns/product issues. On a par with the best (ie. LL Bean, etc.) If you do your homework on the product, buy it from A-n-W. You won't go wrong.

We researched the Danby Dehumidifier and found out it was one of the best. Then we found Air-n-Water and found out they had the best price.
We are very happy with the dehumidifier. It works really fast!
We are using it in the basement (20'x40') and you can really feel the difference. Also, the dehumidifier throws off a little heat from the motor which is fine with me because it is even warming up my basement a little bit.

This Dehumidifier works excellent. It has solved our humidity issues and makes our basement a usable area. We direct feed with included hose to sump pump so we never have to empty tank. One downfall only is fan is continuous and can't be shutoff, It's only been a week since usage began, not sure how long it will last if it is continuously running 24 hrs. a day, but we are very satisfied with product.

I purchased this dehumidifier after noting that it was top rated by Consumer Reports. So far I am very pleased with its performance. It is very quiet and I like the fact that it has two fan speeds and I like the fact that I can select a humidity 'percent' rather than just high medium or low. I also like that when you hook up a hose to the unit .... it doesn't go to the bucket first and then out of the hose. The bucket stays dry so there is not a collection place for debris. The air filter is also a great idea. Overall I have been very pleased with the Danby Dehumidifier!

Unit runs well, I have two issues:
1. Unit keeps running all the time, even after reaching humidity setting.
2. Unit has timer, but it can only be activated for 24 hrs. After that it runs continually.
So solve that, I put unit on a rated timer, so I can set different run times while on an extended vacation.

Product used to remove moisture in coastal daylight basement air. Took a little getting to figure out light signals, but they are a nice feature. Seems to be working okay, although slightly noisier than less expensive unit, which we are also using. Have not set up for continuous drain yet.

It never stopped raining in IL this summer and my basement stayed so wet that the whole house began to smell. We have sump-pumps and had a wimpy dehumidifier, but we got this unit at the end of summer and it finally got the job done, despite continuing rain. I could watch the humidity drop every day rain or shine. I only wish that we had purchased this one to start with. It has temp readings and humidity percentage controls as well as two fan speeds all in a sealed control pad. I think the unit runs quietly enough to feel that it is a solid machine, but I also have it in the basement so I don't hear it unless I'm down there. Overall it feels very sturdy and has no rough edges. I like the continuous drain feature and it even came with its own hose to attach - so you don't need to buy one separately. I really recommend this unit completely.

The unit was very easy to set up. It seems to perform just as it said it would. The only things that I was just a little bothered by were that it is a little noisier than my last unit and the water collection tank is a little smaller than my old dehumidifier. Very trivial! All in all it seems to be a very nice dehumidifier.

My earlier review was favorable but my wife's was not. She blamed an increased electric bill on the dehumidifier.The real cause was the sump pump I was using to raise the water to the washing machine drain. Since I eliminated the sump pump, our electric bills have returned to normal.

The Danby dehumidifier was easy to set up and had it working in about 15 minutes. It seems pretty quiet and I like that you can set the humidity level. The reservoir seems to be too small; it seems to fill up fast and then shuts off. So I installed the hose over to the drain which works much better. I am very satisfied with the product. Thanks.

I have had several different brands of dehumidifiers in the past. I use the dehumidifier in my basement. The Dandy has the best controls. I like that it shows the room temperature and humidity level in a digital display. And you can set the desired humidity level with a digital display. I also like the way that the hose attaches to a drain connection not on the tank. Other brands required you to attach a garden hose to the tank and would leave an inch or two of water standing in the tank. I haven't had the Dandy long enough to comment on the longevity of the Dandy dehumidifier. The first one (different brand) lasted over 8 years the second one only two.

This product is the only appliance which my husband has ever purchased which has caused our electric bill to skyrocket. He purchased it in June, started using it right away..it did a terrific job of keeping the basement dry. However I was startled when our electric company phoned in late June telling us that our bill had increased a great deal which was unusual. She wondered if anything had changed in our electricity use. I responded that my husband had recently started using a dehumidifier.....that satisfied the caller from the electric company. However, I was totally astounded when we received our bill. it is normally around $20 per month. imagine my surprise when i saw that the June bill was over $50.

We use the unit to reduce the relative humidity in our damp basement. Water is routed from the convenient rear outlet into a small plastic hospital tub and sump pumped up to the adjacent washing machine drain. Humidity reading of 83% went to the default 60% within 1 day. Present setting of 65% is usually held within 2 or 3 percent. No problems to date--it does the job intended and makes the room, for the first time, a pleasant place for work and recreation.

Product was delivered on time and packed very well. I got it going right away and it works great. If you can use the hose to the drain is the best, because the bucket fills up pretty fast. I've had this unit for 2 weeks and so far it's done an admirable job. It's located in my basement and from the moment I plugged it in it has cleared the air of humidity very well. The drier air was noticeable almost immediately. The fan is not as quiet as I would like it, but since it's located in the basement, I can't hear it. If this was located in a room of my living quarters, it would bother me tremendously. It's loud even on low speed. If you can live with the noise, it's a good unit.

This unit is attractive, but not meant to move up and down stairs as it is heavy. It cannot be used in a single room (bedroom) as its inherent heater function actually makes the room hot! On the pro side it is very efficient in a damp basement and has a hose adapter to avoid overfill. Good for what it was suggested for, but somewhat disappointed at its lack of versatility. Quality is apparent.

Product worked great for two days. After that the current humidity reading started reading 17 levels lower than the room humidity. Because the unit is reading the humitity wrong it no longer dehumidifies my room. BTW-I bought two other humidity gauges to verify that my dehumidifier has the wrong reading.

I put my dehumidifier in the corner of my living room. It is quiet, and it works like a charm. I live in an area that has 95% humidity on a sunny day. I have been able to set my air conditioner to 80 degrees while running the dehumidifier and it's just as cool and pleasant in my house as it can be. I've had two other dehumidifiers with moderate to poor results. After taking the time to review and research the various products >>> I selected the Danby. It's very early to give a long term evaluation but thus far I am very pleased. Quiet, effective and I like the air flow direction= upwards rather than out the back. Up flow gives you more location flexibility.
