I would not have bought this product if it were not for the 2 year factory warranty.I also received an extra 2 months for registering online.I like the timer on the unit as it is so effective I don't have to run it all the time.The casters work very well,but the handles make it difficult to move around.The water is easy to dump and the air filter is easy to remove.Good price also.

gotta tell you i am disappointed. called customer service and they said take it to service guy.well the closet one to where i live is about 40 minutes away. which means i have to spend an hour and half to drop it off. then the same when go pick it up. as long as i set the rate at 50% it cycles off and on. this means the % stays between 45% and 55%. cycles off at 45% and cycles on at 55%. the problem is i read the best % is between 40 and 50%. so when i set the unit to 45% it never reaches 40% to cycle off so it constantly runs. the unit will get it down to a43% at best. this unit also produces a significant amount of heat when running continuously. i purchased to 60 pint unit which is rated to do a 3600 sq/ft house. my home is 1900 sq/ft. also the outside humidity here has been in the mid 70s most days so its not like its 90% out side. unless my unit is not functioning properly it is a waste of money in my experience.

I have purchase 2 of these units. One is in the basement and the other is outside the bathrooms for use after showers. I came home early one day and not long after that my smoke detector started going off. Upstairs was extremely humid and hot. Luckily the dehumidifier arrived that day so I took it upstairs and turned it on. It did wonders. Not long after I turned it on the upstairs was comfortable again. It is a little on the loud side but I turn it on when I am at work. I would recommend this unit.

I use the Danby in my basement which is below grade and potentially damp. I maintain the area at 60% relative humidity and the unit does an excellent job. We store boxes of off-season clothes in the area without a trace of oder and my woodworking tools are rust free. I especially appreciate how quiet the unit is; the squirrel cage blower moves a lot of air quietly. I am very pleased with the unit; buy one with confidence.

After being away for an extended time, my usually pretty damp basement not only reeked, but the moldy moisture wrapped and clinged itself onto everything and anyone bold enough to go down there. Within 24 hours of turning on this Danby, there was a noticeable improvement. Within three days, the smell and dankness were reduced to the point where the space is now useable again. Great product!

The Danby DDR6009REE Dehumidifier was easy to set up; move around, and operate. This is for a basement in a second home; however I was disappointed to find out that the fan runs continually when the dehumidifier is on. This was not indicated in the user manual. And the timer is not adequate for longer than 24 hour periods; I will have to rig some other timer up to it for the time being. But that is my only complaint so far.

Although we would have liked more detailed instructions, we are pleased with our Danby dehumidifier. We thought it turned on and off automatically, but found that setting the timer for our own on and off hours works well. The best part is how quiet it runs.

When we took the Christmas stuff out in December we noticed that boxes were heavy and damp. We bought a few humidistats and determined that we had a problem. We bought this wonderful Danby DDR6009REE Premiere 60 Pint Dehumidifier and it started sucking all that moisture out of the air. We are now between 58 and 70% humidity depending on the air temperature. We were up over 80% when we started.
