I have a 1000 sq ft house and I can't get the humidity above 20 percent, no matter how fast I run fan. The wicks don't stay wet, It runs three days on 3 before I have to fill it.

My husband and I moved into an apartment that was quite dry. It caused me to break out in rashes due to how dry my skin was. Our health was deteriorating. Easy to fill, doesn't take up a lot of space. The fan is too loud on speed 4. The tanks do not allow water to flow when needed, constantly have to "shimmy" the tanks to release water from the tanks. Unless this can be resolved I don't think I would buy another Essick humidifier.

The winter air in this part of the country get so dry. Add to that the wood stoves burning to keep things cozy and you have misery for sinuses. These units have worked perfectly and made for a much more comfortable winter and no nosebleeds. I recommend them to anyone.

The Shape and size are nice but lacking in performance, the unit's humidity sensor cycles the fan on and off very rapidly, which can be a problem if you use it in your bedroom. There are two tall water tanks on each side of the unit and as the water is used it sounds like bubbles escaping from a scuba divers air tanks, (Glug, Glug) and as the level of the water drops the sound constantly changes so you never get used to it, which again is bad if you use it in the bedroom!

Overall I like the design and look of the unit, the upright thin profile makes it easy to place almost any ware. The design of the side mounted water containers that are easily removed by the push of a top mounted button and then can be taken to the faucet to be filled is a great feature.
I like the filter/wick type of moisture delivery (vapor) instead of a direct visible mist. The only drawback to this unit is the humidity sensor, once the level that you set is reached the fan cycles on and off rapidly. As one bar on the gauge is reached the fan turns on, it only takes a few seconds for the bar to drop one level and the fan turns back on again. If there was some delay built into the sensor this would be a much more user friendly unit.
