Noisy. Fills up with water regularly and has to be drained. If you live in a humid part of the country, this is not the AC for you.

Looks great although quite large. I like the self evaporative feature. The big complaint is that it doesn't cool the room as expected. I did the research on what size BTU was right for my downstairs, and this just doesn't come close. We've been experiencing unusually hot humid weather early for this time of year, and while I personally am OK with a room temp of 77, I have the thing blasting and set at 61 and the lowest I've gotten it is 76. Also LOUD, but I kind of expected that. I have a portable 10,000 BTU Sharp that I like much better upstairs in my bedroom, very quiet. Wish I'd sprung for another but larger version of that.

I have the a/c in our dining room where I replaced a 12000btu window one. The only thing positive I can say about the Haier 14000btu one is it is portable. The older one I replaced cooled the area better than this one which is larger. It is loud and does not cycle on and off when it finally reaches the set temp. I have had to add a window unit to assist this one to cool the area properly. I thought that I bought a QUALITY unit when I bought this one but am very disappointed with it.

It is noisy. I need to get up in the middle of the night to empty the water collection. The AC would cut off all the time. It is very heavy to be lifting into the bath to empty.

I use this product to cool my den, living room, dining room, and kitchen. Even though the square footage called for a unit of at least 18,000 BTU's this unit works just fine. We are comfortable, humid free and very satisfied with this product. The unit is 10 feet from the TV and it does not interfere with the sound, it is surprisingly quiet and efficient.

The only thing I am disappointed about is that it doesn't shut off automatically when it reaches the desired temp.
