My previous vacuum died and needed to be replaced so I looked online for reviews of various models. The only model with excellent ratings in my initial price range was 15" wide and would require constantly moving furniture around to clean my small apartment, so as to clean in the smaller spaces between things. It was necessary to move up into the next price range to get the quality I was looking for in a 12 inch wide vacuum cleaner, which works best for my needs. The Hoover C1320 has been around awhile so its parts can be replaced, unlike my previous vacuum, and this could prolong its use should parts be needed. It also has a smaller motor with less amperage yet good suction, and is used in commercial environments so it must be effective at its task. Air & Water had a good price and their website and company information provided me with confidence to make the purchase. The day the courier service delivered the vacuum I could not believe how small the package was that it arrived in - it was baffling how a vacuum could fit into such a small box. Even upon opening there seemed too few parts to make a working vacuum - a testament to the ingenuity involved. Three or four parts simply need to be connected together to make a working vacuum. Its assembly and construction evidence the engineering expertise that created this excellent vacuum. Care was given to how it is assembled, packaged, how it works, and its efficiency. Upon turning it on, the small lightweight vacuum had enough power to nearly pull itself forward also while cleaning the air due to its particular Magic Eraser vacuum bag. This is an exceptional product - and while it may be necessary to supplement it eventually with an additional handheld model with attachments for cleaning other areas more effectively, this vacuum is excellent at its basic task. It is also easily stored, easy to lift and move around, and freshens the air when in use. A detail of potential relevance to other purchasers involves the included thick orange power cord which must be used with the vacuum. It is fairly easy to manage though a bit heavier and less flexible, whereas it would be nice to have the option of using a lighter weight black cord for home use. Beyond this, if you can live with the orange cord it is hard to imagine finding a better vacuum for a small home or apartment that does one thing and does it well and is designed and built to last.
