I purchased this mainly to use on my kitchen hardwood floors that seem to be constantly full of crumbs and dust in the corners. It is wonderful, but it also works great for quick pickups on the carpet. It cleans up the fur from the cat and dog very well. I'm very happy with this vacuum cleaner. It has much much more power than the Swifter I had before - which wouldn't hold a charge long enough for me to do the entire kitchen floor!! I highly recommend this Dirt Devil.

I wanted something for my hardwood floors. It works great for them. Happily it also does a wonderful job on the little throw rugs I have around. I use it almost every day for little pickup jobs. My Oreck is 8 pounds and I don't know how much this one weighs, but much less and does just as good a job.
