water spills everywhere
got this unit last year June 2010,,,,functioning well and cools the small room although its noisy especially at night. the problem started this year august 2011 where the humidity level is really high and i discovered water leaks every where. found a solution..... put a water container at the back (the bid gallon) used a small hose from the drain to the container or else you will be having flood inside your room good enough i discovered it early. after a week now the water leaks at the side where the filter is! thats when you have it on the cool setting. but once you put on the humidifying mode the water will go to the drain. this i cant figure out. several times i called royal sovereign no answer. too late to return the product!

I don't know what these other people are complaining about, it setup easy for me. The screws were the right type and I can't see how anyone could mess-up putting it together, unless you can't read the instruction manual. The only thing that you need to watch for is if the hose extends too far from window it won't cool as well. I had no leaks and you need to check water level after running it for a while. Other then that I drain it and stored it in my closet for next year.

It leaks, spits water in the air through the cooling vents. Leaks water from the front bottom panel. Exhaust tube become hot. Drain system not user friendly. Instructions to drain the reservoir are not listed. Instrument panel not user friendly. Poorly put together.

Thought this unit would be quality made but that is not so. When I turned on the unit after setting it up, a piece of black plastic blew into the grating at the end of the hose. Have no idea where it is from. The window kit is terribly constructed. The screws aren't all the same and there are no pre-drilled holes for the two screws for the slider portion. Also would have been nice if they had said what the clearance is for the slider to not impact the exhaust hole. I have a 29,5 inch wide window and part of the slider blocks a portion of the opening for the exhaust. The unit does put out cool air, but the preset minimum temp of 75 in automatic mode is just not right. Should be able to lower that temp rather than having to use the manual mode. This is being used in a 325 s.f upstairs room. It took 4+ hours to lower the temp from 83 to 75.

It's poorly constructed, especially the tube which was sloppily hand glued and twisted to where it's sure to break in a short time. It should be more than enough at 12,000 btus to cool a room under 300sq feet but it can't get the room below 76, even on a cool day. Worse, the company created the auto feature to intentionally cool the place to 76. This can't be changed. I don't know any one who sets their a/c to 76 so this function was completely useless in my opinion.
