Smaller living accommodations brings smaller appliances, including the refrigerator with no ice maker. Hauling ice from the store means one big block once the bag is stashed in the smaller-size freezer. The answer - Counter top icemaker! What a wonderful small appliance; efficient, make as much as you need or just enough for each day. A gallon bag is perfect for the weekend for one or two. If you need more, just push the power button. No freezer taste as with the seven-pound bag from the store after it sits in your freezer for a week or two. Over the long run a great money saver as well!

I opened it up, plugged it in, filled it up and in 10 minutes I had 8 bullets of ice. Great! If you can plan ahead, this is a great machine. You can stockpile ice and be ready for a party. It doesn't make ice fast enough for big ice users, unless you plan ahead. But for me, a big ice user, it's terrific. In about 12 hours, and one gallon of water I have three, one-gallon Glad bags filled with ice. Once you put it in the freezer, just slam it once to break it up again and you've got lovely, smooth bullets of ice that do not melt very fast on a regular temperature day. You must continue to empty the basket for the machine to keep making ice.

The amount of I this product makes is amazing. We bought it for camping and the ice machine produced more Ice than the two of us could use for the 3 days of camping.
