Most air purifiers use a purification technology such as UV light, ozone or a filter to clean the air of contaminants. How does Airfree work?
Airfree is the only technology that destroys mold spores, dust mite allergens, viruses, bacteria, pet dander, organic allergens, and ozone. Airfree works by drawing air into its patented incineration chamber where inside the tiny ducts of the ceramic core up to 99.99% of micro-organisms are incinerated. Poisoning gases like ozone are also destroyed. The heat used in Airfree has no noticeable effect in the temperature of the room.

How much does Airfree cost to run?

The first one I got 5 years ago still works! I have 3 of these in my old, musty, tropical home. I've never had any problems with them, so I ordered 2 more, from Air & Water. I chose them because i got cashback via Ebates, a coupon code, AND free shipping to Hawaii! Believe me, I shopped around for the best deal. This is an air SANITIZER, not a purifier nor a filter. If you have dust, you'll need something to take care of that. But if you have a room w/ bad smells that you can't destroy, mustiness, mildew, then this will work! Pro's + completely silent (no fan) + uses very little electricity + destroys musty odors, mildew, germs, etc. + blue light is adjustable (can turn it off, or dim it) + the heat coming out the top will warm your toes if you put it in front of your ottoman! Con's: - have to wait 7-10 days to sanitize the air in the room - must leave it on - can't put it under a shelf - doesn't clean the dust, etc. - there must be natural air flow in the room (no fan on the unit.) - expensive Just be patient, read the manual, and let it do it's thing. But leave it on, especially if you need it in the bedroom. In my living room is an area that once had a leak in the roof (previous owner.) That corner was terribly musty, and I could never breathe there. We removed the carpet, the false ceiling, steam-sanitized everything, sprayed the furniture w/ anti-allergen sprays, vacuumed, dehumidified, etc. These things helped, but that musty smell was STILL THERE. So, we took the AirFree out of the bedroom and put it in that CORNER of the living room. A week or so later, the smell went away. Meanwhile, my bedroom is now uninhabitable! :-( It took me weeks to figure out why...I'd gotten so used to having it work in the bedroom...because it's SILENT. Which is why I ordered 2 more... I put the new ones in the two bedrooms, and moved the oldest unit (over 5 years old) downstairs to a really musty space downstairs...I wasn't sure if it was working, because the blue light quit...but heat was still coming out of the top, so I left it alone. After a week or two the air was noticeably better (granted, i DID have my old Rabbit Air running in there with it.) Since then, I took out the Rabbit Air and other fans, etc. and let the Air Free work by itself with just the windows open. So far, the room is still good enough for me to enter. Previously, I could not even WALK BY THE DOOR! And the new ones seem to be doing their jobs. I bought this unit for my bedroom. A few years ago I bought my house and it had mold throughout the house. I ran 2 dehumidifiers constantly to get the moisture content down and I completely remodeled the house. But there was still a smell at times. I put this in the bedroom because that is where the most mold had been and it made me kind of nervous to be sleeping in there. At times I still smell odors in other parts of the house but not in the bedroom. I personally like the blue light. I also think it throws off a bit of heat - not much - but I like that as well. Completely silent. So far I am happy but it is one of those things that you don't really know for sure what it is doing. Gotta have faith I guess! I will say that I have not received any warranty information with the product which I did purchase and when I emailed the company they said it would take up to 6 weeks to receive that.
