NewAir AF-310 Evaporative Tower Cooling Fan

Have an upstairs bedroom and a craft room that gets full south sun in afternoon. When filled with refrigerated water and the ice pack both rooms cooled down to a very comfortable temp. Has an excellent fan that can be either set on a stationary or sweeping setting. It is very easy to set up and use. Have already recommended to a friend for her son's bedroom.

Prior to my purchase of this product, I've used a heavy-duty fan blowing right on my all night long. The problem there is the fan blows air regardless of temperature. During summer my bedroom would be hot of very stuffy by morning. NOW, that I have this evaporative cooler, my bedroom isn't stuffy and isn't hot in the morning. LOVE THIS MACHINE! I've already recommended to friends!! Since I take my cooling seriously I waited a couple of weeks before writing my review. My only regret - that I didn't find this sooner! My bedroom is probably 12 x 15 to give you an idea of the size. Oh, I will mention that I start the cooler up about an hour before I go to bed so the room has had a chance to cool and I can run this all night on medium and I still have plenty of water in the reservoir, which means I could run it on high alll night and be fine. I run it on fan mode so the "white noise" is consistent. The other settings mix up the high, low, off, etc. and that's harder for me block out than a consistent sound. So, I use Speed at low or medium, swing, fan, and I chose both ion and cool air options. Thrilled to say the least!!

The tower has several ergonomic issues. There is only one handle at the back/top of the tower and since it does not have wheels or casters it is difficult to move. The "drawer" the holds the water or ice tends to not fully close which concerns me for possible leakage. The fan defaults to "high" speed when powered up. It makes more sense to me to start at low or medium speed. But for the money, this swamp cooler does cool the immediate area well.

I purchased the unit for a small area and for short-time usage. It works perfect for the small area that I have placed the unit! It meets my expectation!

It helps to cool a small room up to 300 Square feet, it will be loud for this size room. Problem is continuing to put ice to make it nice and cool but it is far better than nothing. I have purchased larger units that was not as good and triple the price.

I tried this when the humidity was well below 30% (I think it was 20-25%), with an open window, with the ice pack, but I did not notice any cooling effect. I decided to return the product. Customer service was terrific though, and I would consider buying another product from Air & Water.

The unit was a little disappointing-but for the price I knew it would be a little too good to be true if it work as well as a window unit. The region I live in only has a handful of days that are above 95 so it works okay to take a little of the heat out of the area. The construction was not as good as I was hoping (one light did not work on the unit). It lived up to the old saying, "you get what you pay for".

I chose this product because I needed a reduction in temp while retaining humidity & hopefully increasing it. In 55 sq ft space, I needed a small unit & didn't want to pay more than $100 for that small space. The temp reduced by about 5 degrees while humidity increased about 5%. I was hoping for double that which is why I almost returned it. However, they make no claim this product will meet my expectations. Based on it's features, I was hoping. The fact that this fan has a reservoir for ice, the ion filter and some of the control features made all the difference for me. Also reasons I purchased this unit and ended up being the tip of the scale. Works perfectly, super easy, light weight and I will definitely use in other rooms. Totally worth it.

i purchased two of these air cooler fans to cool off my office and a bedroom. on one of them the cooler pump didn't work and the other spit water out of the front of the fan before it leaked all over the carpet. looking into getting a 'real' evaporative cooler and having it installed. i'll pay the extra money to get something that works. i will admit that the return was simple, just keep the box, repack it and drop it off at fed ex. no shipping fee or restocking fee. who knows, due to the good customer service policy and help provided i may purchase something from this company again.

Water cooler just spits water does not cool. Fan works great. Easy operation and very little noise. Some of the name brand was scratched off so I am wondering if this was a refurbished unit. I plan on returning this unit.

I have a west facing bedroom and was hoping the fan would cool it down. I haven't noticed the room being any cooler than normal. I like that it's tall and narrow and will continue to use it but was disappointed it didn't cool the room down.

I'm a massage therapist, and this fan provides good cooling in my treatment room.

This needs to be addressed, I merely wanted to know if I was doing something wrong with the Cooling Device. I can't afford an air conditioner and went with the item based upon the review but one of the reps sent the email back with a return vs assisting me.

I bought two of these "coolers" for my kids rooms that have too small of window openings for window a/c units. I would like to say that they work better than I expected, but that is just not the case. I live in Colorado where humidity is typically low in the summertime, so I thought that these would work pretty decently in keeping their rooms cool, but alas, they cooled only slightly better than a regular fan. If I were reviewing this as a fan only, I would say this is an excellent product. The cooling modes, remote control and sleek look are very well thought out from a design perspective, I just wish they had spent a little more effort to improve the actual cooling unit itself. Perhaps I was just naive in thinking I could get an evaporative cooler for around $100. In retrospect, I should have spent a little more for an EC that may have actually worked.

This fan is great! My house stays around 91 and this unit keeps my room around 80. When the air is directly on you it feels even cooler. My only complains is that the water compartment is not very big. It hold enough water to get through the night but that's about it so I always feel like I am filling it up. It's very easy to use though and the remote is a great feature. live in Colorado and I have to keep it in a vented room with my window open and door as well because if not it makes myroom super humid, but that's expected with any unit like this. Overall a great product for the money!

Looks Nice in the room. Cooler than the average fan. I only wish the fan can point up and down, but not many tower fans have that ability.

This product is really just a fan. I was disappointed. It blows the air around, just like a traditional and much less expensive fan. The ice pack only enhances the cooling feature for a few minutes. This is not what I was looking for, considering the price. The ordering process was simple and it arrived quickly.

I have only used this product on "fan". So, I can't yet write a review on the "cooling" function. I've felt that the fan has done such a wonderful job (& we even had one day where it was 92 degrees); that I haven't even tried the ice pack & water in the lower compartment. When I do, I'll up date. It's easy to move/the remote stores easily right in the built in handle/it's attractive looking/and it WORKS !! Well, worth the money, I'd say.

I was in the market for a new tower fan, and this fan caught my eye with its swamp cooling feature. I didn't have any experience with swamp coolers, but I read they could cool the air up to 30 degrees if placed in the correct environment. I live in the dry Nevada desert, so I assumed this would be a home run for me. I put the cooler in the most ideal of situation I could. I left the window open (as suggested), placed the fan near the window, and waited for the room to get to a steady temperature. When that happened, I would turn on the fan, and do some work on my computer and watch the thermostat I had in my room. The fan was unable to even counter the heat produced by my computer (the temperature actually went UP two degrees). I waited a full 2 hours and the temperature never went down. Now, this is the only swamp cooler I had used, so I am not sure if it was the fan's cooling feature that lacked, or if swamp coolers just don't work in my environment. As far as the fan goes, it works great. The lowest setting has a low noise level - easy to sleep with it on. The medium and high setting can get a bit noisy, but that is with any fan. It is perfect for when you come back sweaty and want to just stand in front of some massive airflow. The oscillating function is also neat because it doesn't turn the whole fan - it has "blades" that turn in front of the air vent. This is nice because it is absolutely silent, and I would imagine it would last a lot longer than a completely oscillating fan. Overall the fan works great, but the cooling feature doesn't work for me. I will be returning this fan since I paid the premium price for the swamp cooler. I would not recommend getting this if you have not had any experience with swamp cooling.

This is the first time I have written a product review. This fan is fantastic. I am very pleased with my purchase. With no a/c and record breaking temperatures, this fan has allowed me to keep my cool. If you are considering this purchase, do it. It does a wonderful job.

I've purchased 3 so far. Use a couple in my home and have given one as a gift. They are perfect for avg room size allowing us to stay cool, and not have to run my house ac.

I have purshased the 4th New Air AF-310. 2 for gifts and 2 for myself. Have had one in bedroom for the last three summers. Keeps the room pleasnt, not cold but comfortable. Noise not to bad but do have to turn TV up a bit. I would recomend the Mew Air AF-310 to any one needing a little extra cool air in any room.

I purchased this product for a small bedroom in my apartment because our air condition unit is located in the living room and doesn't reach to the bedroom so it is very warm in there. I do feel that it cools it off a bit in there but not as i would have liked it too. It is a very nice fan otherwise with great features.

This unit does not work at all and I will like to get my money back or get something else cuz I am in Atlanta Ga and this unit does don't cool nothing down at all so somebody get back with me!!!

This fan does not cool any more than a regular tower fan. I spent a little more money for the evap option but it does not cool at all. I even used the ice pack in the water chamber. Disappointed. Air-n-Water does have good delivery and free shipping.

It offers a lot of options. It is great for the price! I am still learning the functions and options on it. I have only used it for 3 days and I like it so far.

I am from the east coast so when I moved to Arizona for school I was definatley in for a shock. I knew it could get hot but I was totally unprepared for Arizona heat. To make matters worse the way my room was situated in my apartment I would have to keep the ac on 65C just to cool my room properly. Needless to say the SRP bills would be through the roof. I was getting desperate since I couldn't sleep at night, developed allergies, had previously controlled asthma go out of control and heat induced migraines started to become more and more frequent. I started searching for a portable AC unit and found this one. After reading over a hundred reviews and otherwise researching I decided to purchase it. After all I could return it if it didn't work. I set it up immediately (was please that the only thing I had to do was take it out the box and plug it up-no assembly required). This product is simple to use...no 300 page manual here. I had it up and running in less than 10 minutes and that including taking it out of all the packaging it came in. I filled it with water and ice as instructed and let it run. I immediately felt a difference. That night I honestly slept all the way through the night for the first time since arriving in Arizona 6 months ago. I could breath, was not congested the next morning with itchy water eyes. This thing does everything it claims. Even my room was cooler. This model works so well that my roommate (who has the same issues I do only worse) sat in front of it for 15 min while it was running and was able to go back to her room and sleep the entire night problem free. Needless to say we immediately ordered her one. One note though- this is NOT an air conditioning unit. You wont get the same results as if you were running an actual ac unit. This is an air cooling unit..it will cool air but only so much. If your looking to make a room 60 degrees when its 105 degrees outside, this isn't the product for you. But if you have a room that's warmer than normal (mine was consistently above 80 on a good day) and just need it lower (mine is at 75 now) this could work for you.

This cooler effectively cools the interior of an RV parked in the sun more economically than the built in AC. The compact size and small footprint help with placement. The remote works well but the unit does not remember the settings prior to power off - the settings have to be manually restored. The remote is fine for turning the unit off. The fan is almost silent at low speed, high is audible, but not unpleasant.

I spend a great deal of time in my sunroom which has no heating or cooling vents. The NewAir cools the space quickly and quietly. I give it my highest recommendation.

Nice quiet fan BUT water feed for cool NOT GOOD!!! These folks have great shipping & our other purchases were wonderful & still are. This is just a unit that doesn't live up to its info. We'll still always return to these folks for more "stuff", we just got a bad one this time. I'm sure it's no fault of Air & Water.

I was really looking forward to this cooler, as I live in a small apartment and I am at the mercy of the management as to when they turn on our swamp coolers. I live in Albuquerque where the majority of older homes and apartments are cooled with water coolers so I know it works in my environment. However, I really can't feel much difference at all between the fan and the cooler. I have used the ice pack, ice cubes and water from my refrigerator to help and it still feels like a fan would. I run a regular fan in my bedroom and the air feels much the same. Sadly, I feel like I purchased an expensive fan instead of a reasonable portable cooler.

I was looking for a slim air cooling item for my workroom at the store I work at (volunteer at the SPCA Thrift Store). During the summer here in Sacramento it gets hot and my room gets hot; a fan just doesn't do it. Though the store has air conditioning, it doesn't reach my back room. I've tried my new electric tower fan at home and it's great! However, I won't be able to know for absolutely sure how great it is until this June/July/August.

Compact, good looking, cooling - it's all I need for this well-priced cooling fan. I already had one and ordered another one for the downstairs area of my house.

Using this cooling fan in an upstairs hobby room with track lighting, approximately 300sq ft. Finally have found a fan that moves cool air around the room rather than a couple of regular fans blowing warm air. Not a replacement for an extra air conditioner but a noticeable difference in temperature which makes the room comfortable to work in.

Good performance, but the "watercooling" isn't a lot different than just using the fan. I have not tried using ICE yet, but I assume that should increasing the cooling. But it's a nice little fan, and I'm haooy enough that I might buy another one for the living room.

I bought this NewAir AF-310 about a week ago, when we were getting upper 90s weather in the west coast. Most houses in the North west dont' have AC because we rarely get hot in the summer here. But this year the summer has been very hot. The NewAir AF-310 works very well as a fan, to circulate air. IT is quiet and very efficient, and you only need to refill the water tank. I have tried what it will be like when it is out of water, but i assume the indicator light will turn on. The A/C is not very cool, but the A/C is mainly coming out from the frozen cool pak which you drop in the water tank. So, after a few hours when the pak is no longer frozen for being in the water that long, the A/C is only mildly cool. So, don't expect this to be like a regular A/C unit that you get constant cool air. However, I do think that it is a very good buy because keeps the air circulation in my apt with western exposure. Give it a try. Even if you don't like it, you can return it for 30 days. I ordered this on the phone, and the representative was so so nice.

It doesn't really cool any better than any other tower fan. I was looking for something to cool my room without buying an expensive a/c unit. Using this unit, with or without ice only lowers the temp of my room by a degree or two. I like the ion feature though.

This product is a cross between a fan and an air conditioner. I live in South Carolina and have no central ac. I use this when I watch TV and sit directly in front of it. It feels like you're catching a cool summer breeze. I plan on buying a larger capacity unit for next summer.

This little unit blows cool air very well! Using the enclosed ice pack really makes the fan blow cooler than a regular fan. It helps alot here in South Texas! I have it right on the side of the bed, it helps me sleep better.

We bought this cooler for our guest bedroom which is a 10 X 12 room. Worked really well.

I live in the Hill Country, Texas. It has been hot and dry this summer, more than usual. My home is of native limestone and has tunnels that bring in cool air. This year the ground is so dry that the air coming in is hot and dry. I bought the New Air in the hope of bringing a little humidity with the cool air. It is fabulous. Can't say enough about it. If the humidity gets too much I turn off the COOL feature. I appreciate the ozone and the swing feature. You have a good product.

This product is solid, well-made and does what it says it will. If you're looking for full heat-exchange A/C capability "on the cheap" and without venting, It Doesn't Exist and, indeed, this product is not that. But its two advantages over simple air movement ( 1) using evaporation to cool and 2) using ice to make the evaporation source that much colder to begin with ) will buy you an extra 3 degrees F or so in cooling. Timer, speed and oscillation options add to the products value, which, for less than $100, is high.

I like the design, the remote and the fan strength... only downside is that my unit won't cool a small bedroom. I live in a dry climate where I would prefer to use an evaporative cooler vs AC however this unit does not perform.

This product has done a great job at circulating the air in my 10' X 13' room. In Florida with a high humidity level you need all you can get. The only drawback is because of the humidity level the water/ice feature doesn't work as well as I'm sure it would in dryer climates. It still puts out cool air with the feature. It has low/med/high speeds. You can have it set to blow in one direction or within 60 degree range. It also has an ionizer and timer. You can set it to fluctuate between speeds for different time periods. Overall a great product.

I like this product. I can not use an air conditioner at my room so I decided to buy. If I need a cool air, I just put an ice cubes and ice box. It is enough for me. In addition, it is light to carry and is easy to change mode. I recommend this!

WHEN I FIRST HEARD ABOUT EVAPORATIVE FANS I WAS SKEPTICAL ABOUT ITS COOLING ABILITIES.FEAR NOT IT COOLED A 140 SQUARE FOOT ROOM IN ABOUT FIFTEEN MINIUTES. I HAD TOO LOWER IT DURING THE NIGHT IT WAS GETTING REALLY CHILLY.THE REMOTE CONTROL WORKED PERFECTLY I DIDN'T HAVE TO GET OUT OF BED TO LOWER THE TEMPERTURE.A REALLY GREAT PRODUCT, I LIKED IT SO MUCH I PURCHASED A SECOND ONE.

work well for my home in southern california where I just want something that is between a regular fan blowing hot air and an energy sucking AC blowing too much cold air. I like the water container that allows me to add a few cubes of ice and that will enhance the cool air the fan blowing.

The one I use had noise and could not cool down the temperature in my room.

We have two, one for each of our girls and so far they are quite pleased. The units are not noisy but have a very pleasant "white noise" quality like wind which they both enjoy since we now live in a condo and are used to an actual home with less noise. The oscillating feature is great. Rather than the whole unit moving, just the directional slats move which may be one reason the unit is so quite. I only gave a 4 on ease of use because a couple times the unit has been on without water. Not the fault of the unit, really but I wonder if, for future units, there would be a way for them to shut off when the water runs dry. That said, I was very pleased to note the number of useage options the units offer and even without the water, as long as its set to "fan" rather than "cool" the cooling effect is quite good. The timer was also a nice surprise...not terribly intuitive but still very easy to learn. since the tank runs out over night when the weather is particularly dry, we find the timer to be a good way to keep the unit from running with en empty tank. Overall we are very pleased and have recommended it to others and are likely to purchase a larger one for our living room. Overall value, too, is surprisingly good. I can highly recommend this unit and am so glad I found this website! PS - we live in a hot climate without a/c and these units have made life a lot more pleasant.

Unit arrived in time to try out in heat wave. I have no air conditioning (generally don't need it). I used this cooler from the hall, pointing it into the bedroom, and it worked great--not air conditioning 'cold' but just fine. Timer is excellent feature for running into the night, when it doesn't need to cool until dawn. Light weight so easy to move where needed, block ice is helpful to lower temp of mist (along with cooler ice pack provided). Low hum on 'low' setting, can still hear TV etc on medium, on 'high' its almost loud, but still quieter than most fans I've owned. Cinch to use and good value for the price. May not be for you if the humidity is sky high, but thumbs up.

I like the smaller size. It is not cool like an A/C but for what I wanted and needed it is perfect.

WE USE IT AT WORK TO COOL A 20 BY 10 FOOT ROOM. WORKS WELL AND DOESNT TAKE UP ALOT OF SPACE.

This product performs as well as the description claimed. I can not afford an air conditioner, so I purchased this air cooler and it has made a huge difference on hot days. It does not reduce the humidity, but it does bring the temperature down in my apartment on hot days. I put ice in the water and sometimes a nice essence of lavender, and the air smells great and the room is cooler. Overall I am very pleased with this product.

I would recommend this product to anyone even in high humidity, it has excellent range of qualities. As long as you keep cold water in it, it performs. I am very pleased use everyday and we have had triple digits for over 30 days and it has performed great.

We are in an RV and with this Texas summer heat I do not how we would manage withour our NewAir AF=310 Electric Tower Fan ..WE have 2 of them .. We love them ..The noise is low and we use the coolair and this makes our summers most tolerable.We have recommended this product to many people and will continue to do so. Thank You for NewAir.

It's not an A/C or even near that but it does cool down a small room. I was hoping for a little more but I'm content with it. I Love the look of it - fits right in w/the decor etc.

While it may not cool as much as I was hoping for, it does a good job keeping the room at least 5 to 10 degress cooler. Would reccomend this to anyone who needs a good cooling fan.

When I first used the AF-310, I had it on High fan and was trying to cool the entire room with it, by directing the air flow away from where I was located in the room. It was not very effective at cooling the room. Next, I tried Low fan (which is much quieter too) and directing the airflow toward me. That works very good, and keeps me cool, even if the room temp is warm.

This fan is good at keeping you cool and like the option to place a cold pack for extra cold air. Although, the rotation/swing is extra loud on low and makes it hard to sleep with the fan on.

This is the most useful product I have purchased! I specifically purchased this NewAir AF-310 Electric Tower Fan for my pet Chinchilla. However, this bada** little tower is so strong that it cools my whole room. It is a whole lotta bang for the buck... I love it to say the least!

The new tower fan works great, a little louder than expected. Overall, I am satisfied with this product at this time and looking forward to using it to stay cool during the super with the cooling option. Last note, unable to use remote due to dead battery upon shipment.

I love it, it helps keep my room cool all the night. I really like this tower fan. It's quiet, efficient and easy to operate. I put the fan in my room as that is the hottest spot in my house. It does a great job of cooling.

This fan will move a lot of air and is very quiet. The footprint of this fan is much smaller than the other fan I was using, it takes up a small space in a other wise unused space. The oscillation of the swing feature cools the entire room, and the remote is a nice feature as well.

I am very pleased with this unit because it is very quiet and still circulates the air at the lowest setting. It also seems to cool the air as it passes through the fan. So far there are no water leaks. The only thing I would change is the sleep mode. I like the fact that it turns off for a couple of seconds, and gradually speeds up...However, I think it goes a little too high for being on the sleep mode, and I can't find a way to change that. I tried setting it to sleep mode from the lowest setting. Other than that the unit is perfect. I am very happy with it...Thank you :)

I was looking for something to help cool a back room off without having to turn the A/C down even further. And this is been just what was needed. It's light enough that we have taken it different places to add some much needed air in the Florida hot weather! For example it has been used in a ticket booth (used the ice/water for cooler air) and it made it tolerable in 100 degree weather. Great product.

We own three of these fans. Two are in a condominium rental unit and one in our home. We live at 6,000 ft. elevation and do not have (or usually need) air conditioning so the fans are used part time on the few really hot days. We like the slim design and the rotation feature. Emptying water from the base is not convenient or easy. We were amazed at the prompt delivery (one day).

The fan is excellent; I only wish I had gotten it earlier in the summer. Our house is air conditioned, but ... my office has a lot of glass (formerly a sun porch in the days before central heat and air) and the afternoon sun really warms things up. A ceiling fan and your Electric Tower Fan make it real nice without cranking up the air conditioner even more. My electric bill has been already record setting this summer.

Doesn't have the power I was hoping for but considering it's a really hot summer it would be foolish such a small machine could be that miraculous. The size and weight is fantastic, as is the ease to operate. When moved to a small space its functions are ideal, I am not regretting this purchase and very pleased to have it.

I love it. It is so much nicer sleeping now, actually had to get out another blanket. Sure wish I had thought of looking on the internet five years ago. I don't have AC so was just using a box fan.

I use my AF-350 In my 10' x 20' insulated work shop. Today it got over 95 deg. but the shop temp. never got over 80 deg. It will keep the temp. between 5 to 15 deg. cooler than the outside temp. Depending on the humidity. The area around here is around 15 to 25 percent humidity. The lower the humidity the better it works! But no matter what the cooling factor is I love the tower fan and all the neat features. I will recommed this quality product to anyone.

I have been very satisfied with this product. If the humidity is low, it will lower the tempature in the room by about 5 degrees.

On a scale 1-10 I give a 7 to this one. The air that comes out of it isn't cool during the days. I live in the desert and would need about 4 of these to cool off a 2 car garage I live in.

I love the IDEA of this product. What could be more perfect a fan that uses water to up its cooling power, right? The manufacturers fell short on that end. Adding water and ice to the reservoir really doesn't generate that much cooling power and the fan is a little weak. It is also difficult to clean. The reservoir tray can not be removed from the main housing so you physically have to lift the whole fan over a sink or bathtub to drain the water for cleaning. In addition, the screen at the back that catches hair and dust particles does not separate easily from the housing. I live in fear that I'll break something every time I attempt to clean the filters. All that said, it's a relatively quiet fan that looks good practically anywhere. If good design and quiet are all that matter to you then this fan is for you. Otherwise choose another option.

Makes a funny smell when used. The cooling function didn't seem to work so great. I couldn't tell the difference between when it was filled with ice and water and when it was just running on fan. It did seem to help overall.

I ordered this fan, hoping it would cool a small room in the oppressive heat of the East this summer. Air blowing over the cold pack and ice water sounded like it might do it, but in reality, it makes little to no difference if I use the cold pack and ice water feature or not. I have opted to use the fan only. It works fine and I would recommend the produce for use as a fan, but I would not say the cold pack and ice water really works. Besides, it's very humid in the East and adding more humidity to the air does not cool things off! Perhaps that feature works better in the SW or in dry, hot climates.

Overall I feel it serves its purpose, and functions well.

Received product the next day. Am happy with the product and it keeps the room I have it in cool. The only thing I don't like about it is the included ice pack because, it melts way to fast and don't really cause the water to cool the air anymore.

I bought this fan and it really works in small places, especially if you use the ice pack. 'Very streamline', which I really like a lot, because I don't have a lot of space for much of anything.

This is a nicely designed fan with a handy little remote. It seems to be solidly made. However, the cooling function does nearly nothing. It humidifies more than it cools, even if you put a lot of ice in the reservoir. Nonetheless, the product is useful (and competitive pricewise) merely as a fan.

I ordered this at the beginning of the summer, determined to find some relief from the horrible nightly accumulated heat in my house. It provides cooling which is significantly better than any fan, especially so when one adds ice to the water (conveniently accessed by the front pull-out drawer). One must understand that this is not an air conditioner, but a water-cooled fan, and therefore any realized improvement in cooling over a regular fan is much appreciated. This fan does not have wheels, therefore is best for one general area rather than moving from room to room. It is very easy to use and modern/high tech in appearance.

It is a great fan, but the ice/water box does not enhance cooling very well. And the water spurts out of the fan area with water level well below the recommended height level.

This works best as a fan. It doesn't really seem to lower the temperature very much when it is hot. Even using the ice block. I am using it in a small bedroom and it does help some. It also is a bit noisy. I would have done better just to have bought a tower fan.

I am very satisfied with the overall performance and quality of this product. I was having to use it in a larger space than 75 Sq. Ft. and it was still able to lower the temperature in the room by about 5 degrees. Of course it needs to be used in climates with low humidity.

The first unit I received had a defective fan so nothing else worked. The xmlnsnt fan is so good that neighbors have asked why I am not using window AC units in this hot Colorado summer and I invite them in to see how it cools both the living room and dining room of our same-size condos. Really don't want AC here because the humidity is so low. (And electric bills can be so high.) In the winter, I will use it in my bedroom as a humidifier because it is so dry here. Probably will consider a second tower fan for the bedroom (but money is tight right now.) This is the best use of not much money in a long time. My neighbor just bought one and he also is more than pleased about being able to sleep with COLD air without AC on these hot nights.

The Electric Tower fan doesn't cool as well as I would like but it does send out a lot of air, though. It helps lessen the heat because it has good air flow. Although, the light doesn't work any longer for oscillation. We have not moved the product and it has not been damaged in any way but the light just stopped working one day.

Very good product especially during this heat wave we are experiencing. Ideal for areas that are not air conditioned so you save on electrical bills. I don't understand the need for the intermittent fan speed.

I purchased this product for my daughter who is attending college in Fullerton. It works pretty well, however, it does add moisture to the air which can make her room a bit muggy if she doesn't remember to turn that option off. In hindsight, I should have purchased a traditional swamp cooler to keep her room comfortable. But, she seems happy with it so...

Well if you are planning to use it in a bedroom is perfect!!! I read some of the reviews from people saying that was not good, but let me tell you probably they were using it in a big room or for the full house of course it will not work. Is very easy to use we put some ice on the container because we leave in the Hugh desert so it is hot!!! And we are very happy with it. The swam cooler for the house doesn't really cool off our bedroom so it was a good solution.

This is a very good tower fan. Quiet and efficient. Be aware that when the water level gets low it can spit out droplets that condense, but otherwise, great.

I purchased this fan for the guest room at my parents Arizona home. It had easy controls and instructions and cooled the room nicely. They do have central air, but keep the temperature warmer than I'm accustomed to. I didn't need to use the frozed block and the added moisture made sleeping more comfortable. I didn't run it during the day, since the instructions mentioned condensation could build up in a small closed area. I was very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this fan as I currently work night shift and therefore sleep during the day. We have a wall ac unit in our living room which is at the other end of the house from the bedroom. This fan is attractive, I like the remote and all the options. The low setting is quiet enough for me to sleep. The cooling function does less cooling than I thought it would, but it does just enough to keep me comfortable during the day. I plan to use it to humidify/purify the air all year round in order to help with my allergies.

I have used it in my living room, and I can turn my air up to 78 so it doesn't turn on as much. We are also going to use it when we set up at an outdoor arts and craft show labor day weekend., I have trouble with heat and this will give me relief in out tent. Great product. Cool air with just water and no ice, but add the ice and I am in heaven.

I use the tower cooler AF-310 at night to sleep and in the heat of the day. It is styled well, slim, light and looks good. With all the buttons and remote, which all work. It fills easily, and empties easily, not messy to pour out or hard to handle, and is relatively steady for its lightness. I like the ionizer. But the water door doesn't shut completely and no matter if I add ice or cold, chilled water or the frozen thing, it doesn't get cold, or much cooler at all. I wonder why. I would like it to get cold! The fan is in front and does not blow across the wetted filter, so the air is just drown in across the wetted filter, which is a funny design for the purpose. It has enough air for a sleeping space and is not too noisy. I wake up cool and it is off. It would never cool anywhere near like a room space.

Living in Seattle air conditioning is not needed often, thus this product serves a great cooling fan especially at night. The only complaint that I have is the ice tray was missing from my unit. My dog loves it as well.

I live in Golden, CO, and swamp coolers here are better and more efficient than AC. I ordered the tower fan and the first one was useless -- because the fan didn't work. The xmlnsnt the company sent works perfectly. Great fan -- and using water and the ice pack -- it is cooling my condo's livingroom and diningroom on this dry 90-degree day.

I purchased this air-cooler because my housing doesn't allow window air conditioners. I was pleased with the size and appearance. It's lightweight, so I can move it from room to room easily. It doesn't cool down large areas, but is great for sitting by my reading chair and bedside. At first there was a funny smell to it, but that has since dissipated. I like that it doesn't use a lot of electricity and that it is fairly quiet. It works like I'd hope it would.

I like the design and all the other functions but it does not cool the area as much as I had expected, even after using the ice instead of water. It is not good as space cooler that is hotter than 90 degrees.

With the limitations imposed by the types of windows I have in my apartment, my options were limited to purchasing either a portable air conditioner or an evaporative cooler. This small NewAir works well for a small room (my bedroom), but it doesn't cool as much as a conventional air conditioner would. However, it provides just enough cool air to allow me to sleep comfortably, and it gives some much needed moisture which is a great benefit for my sinuses.

Bought product to help keep a small room cool (smallest and hottest room in the house), product is excellent as a fan and keeps the room cooler even on the hottest days of the summer. The evaporative cooler works well when the humidity is down as advertised but with the summer we've been having seems like 100% humidity every day, anyway the product looks great and works well.

The product was received in a timely manner. It arrived undamaged and ready to use. The unit looks and works as advertised. We set it up in a basement bedroom that has very little circulation--hence it gets quite warm in the summer. The NewAir cools this room quite adequately. It is also nice and quiet compared to other fans we have used.

I live in a hot third floor apartment and bought this product to make my living during the summer months more bearable. While the cooling unit of my NewAir Electric Tower Fan has not delivered its anticipated results, I am completely satisfied with the resultant direct channeling of cool air when set in the fan mode. No other fan delivers the equivalent focused stream of cooling breeze. My third floor, unbearably hot apartment is now adequately cooled for me when I position the NewAir Electric Tower Fan directly in front of where I'm sitting. It's made a great difference in my comfort. Without it, I would need several fans going continuously in my bedroom and not achieve the same cooling as with this NewAir product.

With the heat wave going on here in town, the product was put to the "test". Its performance: It is working fine. Use distilled water if possible and use ice, and monitor the water level. It'll keep you from comfortably cool. That's all.

I bought this product 2 weeks ago...I found that the air is not cold even I put on the ice and on the cool air button. Furthermore I pressed the speed to high position. It's very noisy...

Worst purchase I have ever made. Fan doesn't work. Nothing else does either. A huge waste of what small amount of money I have. HORRIBLE PRODUCT and need refund. Awful product that should work here in Colorado where REAL swamp coolers do the job. Just the truth.

I ordered the evaporative cooler (wwamp cooler) to see whether it would work as extra cooling in a small office. It doesn't do much, but I think that is because the room doesn't get hot enough for evaporative cooling to be effective. Other reviews said that it made a good fan, even if the cooling isn't great. But I think I can get a better fan for less money. I plan to return the unit unless I can find another place where it is useful.

Great unit, fits just about anywhere. I love the design. Have only had a couple of hot days to try it out but it works perfectly so far.

It simply won't work. Can't get the water to circulate. The cool air button must not be right. Tried a dozen times with water, water and ice, water and ice pack. Isn't even a good fan. Fan doesn't seem to work either. At first, I thought I was doing something wrong. A more tech savvy neighbor today confirmed what I suspected. The fan I have is not working as a fan or cooler.

The works great as a fan and ionizer. I like the way it oscillates. It does a good job of cleaning the air. We bought it for our back porch to help keep it cooler for our dog who hangs out there. He lays in front of the fan when it is hot to help cool him off. It doesn't cool as well as I would like but the dog seems to enjoy it so it must cool enough for him to notice.

I like my new fan. It is cooler than a plain fan if you add ice to the water. I like that it has so many settings. It is somewhat noisy when on full blast, but you can run it on a quiet mode and everything in between. It solved my problem of my art studio being hotter than the rest of the house. I can't feel the humidity, but I am definitely a lot more comfortable.

Was hoping for a product that would have cooled a room in a beach bungalow, however, I didn't realize that it adds humidity to a room and the room became like a sauna. Someone said it might be better suited for dryer climates where there is less humidity.

I have a detached "man room" office of 150 sq. ft. at our mountain place at 7,0000 ft. On sunny summer days it got pretty hot in the office, too hot to work. My NewAir is perfect to cool down the space so I can work happily. It has an amazing number of features, takes up little floor space and cools down the space nicely. Highly recommended for an area this size and the price is right!

What I appreciate the most about my AF-310 was its convenience,simplicity and unique features. It not only save on using electricity but purified the whole room. Also admire the style,look and portability of this unit. What I also discover was by adding ice cubes it made the air a whole lot cooler.

I have a small study room with a small window. It was hard to find an air conditioner.

I bought the AF-310 to increase air circulation and add more cooling to the warmest room in a sixty year old house with poor HVAC ducting to the upstairs. As a fan the unit will be great year around providing gentle air movement and ionizing in the stuffy room I use as my study. When used as a swamp cooler with an ice block in the water reservoir I get a three or four degree cooling of the air exiting the fan from the room temperature. This varies slightly at different times of day and with the amount of sun hitting this side of the house. The cooling effect with one small frozen ice block lasts several hours and I keep several small six pack cooler size ice blocks frozen to provide good continuous cooling during the long summer days. Over all I am very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this "swamp cooler fan" to cool off the living room. It's pretty much a fan and not much of a 'cooler". Easy to use, sharp appearance. The little bucket full of ice cubes, ice box, and cold water barely blows out cool air let alone cold air. And that's with the "cool air" button on. It's an over priced fan for the most part. No regrets. Next time maybe a bigger unit would work. Small room though. Have to wonder.

I have mine hooked up in the living room of my mobile home, and it can't keep my small living room/kitchen area cool during the warmer days here. This really only is noticeable on the hotter days. (80+F) On the cooler days it performs noticeably well. It just doesn't compensate for hotter days well. Also it's a tad bit confusing to have a button that say's "COLD AIR", I still have doubts about what it really does.

I was very happy at how quickly my order from Air & Water arrived at my door. I purchased the NewAir Tower Fan mainly to be a fan with the option of putting ice into the water receptacle to make the air cooler. It works well and blows cooler air when the ice pack is inserted. I am very pleased with the cooling fan. I primarily use it at night in the bedroom. This allows me leave the air conditioner setting at a warmer temperature while I enjoy the moist cool air as I sleep. I really enjoy the moisture that the fan adds to the very dry air in Arizona. The unit throws slightly cooler air only when the water in it is kept very cold using lots of ice. It does not drop the temperature in the room but the breeze feels good going past your skin. The unit sprays and drips water when first turned on. Air & Water has excellent customer service and had a new unit sent to me 2 days after contacting them including prepaid postage to send the first unit back. The second unit sprays and drips when first turned on also so I suspect this is a design flaw. I will keep the unit anyway since it does provide a little added comfort.

The NewAir AF-310 is handy and portable. My primary purpose for it was to use it as a cooler in a small space where I have my internet electronics (modem, router) -- but it turned out it cannot be used in small spaces. However, I use it now as a small personal cooler. I plan to use it in the winter as a humidifier. Very useful, although it did not do what I originally wanted it to do.

The AF-310 biggest strength is its ability to blow air around. For that, I give it a 10/10. Otherwise, I feel somewhat cheated by this product and evaporative coolers all together.

I am using it in my bedroom. I placed it directly under the ceiling-vent where the cool air drops down onto my unit. This makes it more effective, even only with the fan on. My neighbor loves the looks and was surprised about the effectiveness I got out of it, even on these hot 100 degree-days in CA. This means a saving of electricity.

I am using the tower fan in my 100 sq foot bedroom, and while it is a good fan that can move air, I am not convinced that it can actually cool the room. I have been wavering on whether to return it or not. When I use it in the cool mode, water spits out of the front and back of the fan and gets everything all wet. I have realigned the water liner and still this happens. When I add the ice pack to the water and use it on cool, there is still no change in the room temperature. I happen to have a room temperature readout in the room and I see no change when using this tower fan. I bought this device believing it could actually "cool" the room, but now feel like I spent $100 for a simple fan (that spits out water when I try to use the cool function. I may be returning the product shortly.

Got this for my daughter's small room that pretty much just fits a twin bed and a side table. We found the fan too loud and the air coming out of it (even with ice) was not that much cooler than a regular fan. Ended up not using it in my daughter's room cause we were worried that it would keep her up. Disappointed with the product.

I purchased this unit for my small office, and it works great! I keep it on low throughout the day, and it keeps the room very cool. It is also extremely quiet. I am on the phone most of the day, and on low you can barely hear it running. It was supposed to be a swamp cooler (said the description), so I purchased 2. You can fill it with water and add an ice pack. It makes no difference what so ever in the cooling. It does move air and it has an ionizer. It was an expensive lesson for a fan, but shipping was free and fast. Good company to order from.

This cooling fan is nice to have setup in those rooms that tend to get a little warm in the summer. The only thing we forget to do is put the ice pack in the fridge, but other than that it is a nice fan for the price.

I hate being warm. Have lots of box, pedestal fans and a portable a/c unit. Like the idea of using water and ice to cool - less electricity. Always room for more fans!
