The American Comfort ACW100 1,000 BTU personal air conditioner is designed to keep your personal space cool, dry and comfortable. It adds cooling comfort where you need it by spot cooling you and your immediate surrounding space instead of a whole room. The ACW100 personal air conditioner is only meant to be used as a personal chiller as warm air is blown out of the back of the unit and cold air out of the front.

Extremely Portable
The American Comfort ACW100 personal air conditioner can be used at home while sleeping or watching television or brought to offices, boats, campers or motor homes. It requires no venting and features a lightweight, 30 pound design that rolls easily from room-to-room.

Keeps Humidity in Check
The ACW100 personal chiller can dehumidify up to 30 pints of moisture per day to keep humidity in check.

"Bucket Full" Indicator Light
This personal air conditioner protects against overflowing with a "bucket full" indicator and an auto-shutoff function.

Works well but you need to understand how its designed to work In order to cool something, you are removing heat, the heat you remove has to go somewhere. This is a spot cooler, it draws air in the front, removes heat and blows cooler dehumidified air out of the top, the heat removed is expelled out of the back. Understand this and you will be fine, the unit does exactly what it says it does but obviously has its limitations. Put it in the doorway to a small room and it does indeed cool, warm air being expelled to the adjacent room. I bought this unit to evaluate for several applications and have tested it in an office and to keep some sensetive controls cool to stop them overheating. 1,000 btu of cooling is small but 250w of power consumption is also tiny, i have also mounted the unit in a camper with the back sealed to the outside wall of the camper with a vent grill so the warm air is expelled outside. It works great, dehumidifying and cooling the camper van and at 250 watts I can run it for hours from my battery through an inverter, I could find no other AC unit with this low of a power consumption. Compressor is a little noisy sometimes but Im very pleased. If you are looking to cool an entire room though and have a window available, buy a window unit. August 8, 2011
Total waste of money. Total waste of money. Blows hot air out the back and the space was just as hot if not hotter when the air conditioner was used. The regular fan I bought works much better to cool off the area. Very dissatisfied with this product. Keep looking! August 6, 2011

Since it does have to exhaust warm air, it is not too great in a small room unless a door is left open behind it - but it does give a cool blast of air to the person in front - I purchased it for a family member who has problems with heat, and she is quite happy with it. September 17, 2010
Do not buy this product is not sufficient for even small spaces. More hot air flows out the back than cold air comes out of the front. Trust me invest your money in an air conditioner with a venting hose. August 20, 2010
