NewAir AC-14100H 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner and Heater with Commercial-Quality Design

Called customer service prior to ordering. I was concerned about noise level. On high, this unit runs at 56 db which is not intrusive. Free shipping both ways if I am not satisfied sold me. Unit was delivered quickly, within promised time frame. My home is in north central Idaho. Summer days are upper 90's. I have a large open area which includes living room, kitchen, laundry room, also high ceilings, close to 600 sq ft. Only used four times since receiving (no electic bill as yet) but happily found the temp. in my home was cooled to 77 when outside was 94. The reservoir for quicker cooling works well, runs about an hour or more then needs refilling. I drained the unit and found the process easy although after only four days not much water to drain. Installation was easy and with wide windows (45") the adapter was more than sufficient. I don't normally write reviews but am so satisfied with this company and product I felt compelled to do so. I plan to order another type of cooler for each of the two bedrooms.

Bought this unit because my window unit died on me and I didn't want another window unit due to aesthetic reasons. My bedroom is about 300 square feet and this A/C works wonders, especially during the heat we've been experience here. I haven't used the heating function yet but I know it will come in handy come fall. Service was top-notch and I was able to get this sooner than expected, even with expedited shipping, which I paid a little extra for. Thanks again.

I got this product very recently, before the weather turned hot enough to use it and I've so far had it in operation only for two nights, to cool a bedroom of normal size but with very high ceilings during a brief hot spell. Maybe I need practice with the controls, but so far it fails surprisingly often to to stay at the set point (or no more than two degrees above it, if I have the unit in "sleep" mode). The hose does have to be curved upward to reach the window in the small space available - could that be the problem?

Ordering process was easy and it was good to have a tracking # to monitor. Unit arrived undamaged and quickly for cross-country shipping. Easy setup, instructions adequate. Currently using in heater mode in garage to bring temp up to comfortable level for shop work. Does a good job, but we haven't had outside low temp's yet this season. The unit is undersized as a heater for the garage space, but meets my needs at this point. Will be moved to a smaller bonus room over the garage for cooling next season. Like the portability. I would recommend this unit at this time based on limited experience. Good experience with Seller.

This one is a winner. It is small enough to not take up much room. The AC-14100H is a powerful unit. The hose hooks up to the supplied window vent in a few minutes and you are drawing hot air out of the room and cooling the indoors. I leave it on low speed and it works well. Noise level is acceptable. The remote control is a jewel. This is a commercial grade unit with a high grade compressor. The compressor is the heart of the unit and I have high hopes that it will last a long time. New Air engineers did their job well. I bought it in the summer so we will see how the heater function works this winter.

It did what it said and so far cools nice. Will test heater later. I am very happy. The remote and controls all use symbols so I had to keep looking in book. Now I am starting to remember.

Since I have added a 420 square foot sun room to the back of my house consisting of 10 windows and 3 skylights, this room can get pretty hot during our summer months here in Virginia. My existing central air conditioning just was not efficient enough to keep this added room cool. I could have spent over 10k or more to upgrade my complete central air but decided on supplementing this room with simply using a plug in air conditioner. Our neighborhood btw does not permit the use of any window mounted air conditions, so I decided I would try a portable unit instead. After checking to see what portable units were highly rated and well enough to cover my space I opt for the NewAir AC-14100H portable air conditioner with Heat from Air and Water. The sales person was very helpful in answering all of my questions before making my final decision and purchase. I received the unit within one week which was shipped across country by standard delivery to Virginia. Package arrived on time and showed no signs of misuse or handling. Box container was also well insulated for extra protection. The unit itself was easy to install after removing packing materials. Did spend a little time working with the supplied window spacer for the vent tube as I found myself having to cut back some of the windows spacers length in order for it to properly fit within my window opening. Once cut and adjusted for proper fit, I applied a self-stick foam weather seal around the entire window spacer for a better seal. I then powered on the unit and applied the AC. Within 1 hour the room was no longer hot and uncomfortable. Temperature went from 78 degrees down to around 67. If I have to say anything negative about this unit is that the supplied remote control is a little bit quirky where you must point it directly at the unit. Also the mode selector on the remote may indicate air conditioning but really is on fan. I simply just do not trust the use of the remote. I feel more comfortable in directly controlling the unit, knowing exactly what is running. Also noticed when the compressor cuts on and off it seems to be a bit noisy but maybe that is common for all portables, not sure. I feel the overall noise of the unit fully running is not loud but close to the sound of a running box fan where you do have 3 speeds to control the fan. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit for its cooling capabilitys of this portable unit. Unit does have decent air flow and you can direct the flow in any direction. Not to mention this particular unit has heat but you can get the same model without. But for 30 dollars more I just added the Heat which is there if I need it. Yes I would recommend this product. great unit to help cool the house on the really hot days

It may be because it's been over 90 and it just can't keep up. Will see when it gets cooler.

Unit is really easy to use and come with great attributes. I like the reservoir I can add water to for cooling quicker and the ionizer seems to work well. The unit is louder but it cools quickly, does not seem to get a 12x12 room below 75 but that works for my family on 85-90 degree days :) the window kit does not seem to flush to the window but that could be my fault. Overall 4/5 for the perks you get.

We just moved into a rental house with no a/c on the brink of an unusual heat wave in Colorado. We did not have the unit while it was around 104 degrees for several days, but we have used it since it has been in the upper 90's and it is really making a difference. It's not as good as having a whole-house a/c system, of course, but it keeps the living room and kitchen between 75-79 degrees in the heat of the day, while not having to blast it at full power. Since our house was built around 1960 - and has funky wiring - I am careful not to overload the circuits so I do not put it at max fan speed or the lowest temp. (We found we had to plug the unit into a min. of 20A circuit or it would trip the breaker after only a few minutes). Its important to mention we cannot close off the kitchen completely (no door) and we are keeping the bedroom and bathroom doors shut, so the cooling stays in the living room, hallway and kitchen which is open to a basement stairwell. The total square footage is around 510 combined. All in all we our happy with the unit and it is saving us! If we could close the area off completely the unit would probably work even better.

So far I like it pretty much except I have a couple of issues....the compressor runs all of the time when cooling. It would be good if would ramp up to the temp while giving the compressor time to become energy efficient. It is a very quiet while running. Also it would be great if the unit could draw air in from the outside when running the fan only. All in all it is a real good buy.

We use this at our 1,200 sq foot cabin and it was able to cool the cabin significantly in 100 degree heat last week. I was able to test the heat capability in early spring and this thing kicks out a large amount of heat. It will work great this winter when we need to heat the cabin from 50 to 70 when we first arrive. I highly recommend to anyone looking to cool or heat a good size area.

We bought this air conditioner to help cool down our 40 forty foot motor home. It makes it very comfortable in the last few weeks of above 100 degree temperatures. fairly ease to install and get running.

We bought this for my son's small apartment which got quite hot due to its 3rd floor, west facing location and an old window unit that barely worked. We found this unit Very well constructed with lots of nice features and attention to detail. It is easy to operate, cools well, and is a great way to improve energy efficiency if you can't get your landlord to replace an old window unit.

We have an A-frame cabin @ about 6000 ft in ponderosa pine territorry of Arizona. In the absence of afternoon monsoon showers our large cabin can get a little warm for a few hours. We have purchased two of the units, one for our great room and another for an upstairs bedroom. Given the ceiling height in the great room we are pushing the unit a little bit. Nonetheless, the unit for this space is able to make the room comfortable. The upstairs master bedroom is less than 20 x20 with 8 foot ceilings and it is able to cool the room quite well. Noise level is reasonable for TV viewing. Have not received my first utility bill or tried using the unit with added water as of yet. Also, have not tried using the heater function.

I have only had the chance to use this one week but have been able to use both the cooling and heating features. Both work very well. The only negative so far would be how loud it is.

We live in a 500 sq. foot apartment in NYC. We purchased this unit hoping it would handle the very small space we live in...however, it cannot even cool the living room. I contacted the company who insisted something must be wrong with unit and sent a replacement...however, new unit did not work any better. We've tried all the different settings and it will not cool below 75 degrees. It will cool our 150 sq. foot bedroom and that's all. So extremely disappointed that we spent so much money on this...and now will have to invest in something else. Definitely would not recommend this...you could purchase something much cheaper to cool the amount of sq. footage that this will handle.

So far we are very pleased with this unit. It has done a great job keeping our workout room over our garage nice and cool in the hot southeastern North Carolina summer.

I live in south Alabama, It gets hot , hot in the summer , and down in the twenties , at night in the winter. These units heat and cool very well. We leave them set on automatic, on those days when you need cooling by day , and heat at night , we have quite a few of those here. They are super energy effecient. I have wood floors , and ran 3/4 inch sch. 40 pvc through the floors , which works perfectly , to run the drain tubes in to. I am going to buy backup units , to have on hand for future use. These are excellent products.

This system is great for both heating and cool but I have mostly used it for the heating! I am currently heating my living room, dining room and kitchen and within an hour it is quite warm in all three areas! I've only used the a/c for one warm afternoon we had and it cooled down quickly!! I have to make sure to connect the drain tube as the water drain tank fills up very fast! I only get about 8 hours of run time before having to drain it but not a big issue once the drain tube is connected. Over all I am very satisfied with my purchase as this unit is doing what I ask of it!!

Air & Water is the Best Source for all your Cooling & Heating needs! I received my unit very quickly and was cooling my livingroom within seconds. I stepped up to the 14,000 BTU unit a step higher than calculated and what a difference. It cools the area quicker and maintains a constant cool enviroment. Very easy to operate and would highly recommend this unit over all the others that I researched for weeks! It is very cost effective~

The unit does a decent job of cooling in a less than ideal environment. 400 sq ft slump block garage with little insulation. There are no windows so it is vented into the attic. The Energy Efficiency Boosting Function works, but requires refilling the water tank twice an hour. It may be due to the very low humidity in Arizona, but it is inconvenient.

Set this unit up in my 2 car garage and it lowers the temp 20 degrees from the outside 100+ temps that we've had this summer. I have not insulated the garage door yet, which will help out even more so the compressor will not have to work as much and will cool better. I expected some noise, but most of what I hear is just fan noise as the compressor runs very quiet.

One of my main concerns with a portable AC was how often it would need to be drained. I have ran the new air 14100H now for four days without having to empty it, and with NO leakage. I might also add that this is during hurricane LEE which dumped 12 inches of rain on us within 24 hrs. Now that's humid!!! The unit surpasses my cooling expectations also. I am please with the unit, and air and waters services. The unit actually arrived a day early, and was in tiptop shape. I plan to buy another newair 14100H for my office next summer. I have not tried the heater yet, but that time of year is soon arriving.

works ok. it is louder than i expected it to be. hard to watch tv without turning up the volume while the unit is running. but i'd rather have a cool room with a loud tv than ........well, you know.

I live in Texas and we have had a very hot summer. The machine will take the inside room temperature down about 15 degrees below the outside temperature. Good but quite good enough

First, this noisy unit does put out cool air, but the exhaust vent is not insulated and gets hot and actually heats the room. It seems to do a good job to bring the room to 75 degrees but that's it. I insulated the exhaust pipe and it gave me another 2 degree drop. You can't practically use the "heat" feature because it requires the unit to have a drain below the unit and ofcourse an outside air exhaust. So unless your planning to drill a hole in a wall below a window, do not spend the extra money to get the heating version of this machinge. The unit has a bad feature or non feature that it will not allow automatic fan turn off when it reaches the set point. The timer feature is not very useful, only allowing a turn off in so many hours. Not a 24/7 type of thing.

This product is so easy to install from start to finish a third grader can do it. My wife installed it before I came home from work.

I researched many different models before I bought this. It works very well. No leaking at all. In fact practically no water at all in the reservoir despite hot and humid conditions. It works quite well and is powerful.

I was very happy with this unit when it arrived . It was easy to install . Saved me having to cut hole in wall with another air conditioner . Just waiting for winter now to try the heating feature .
