This unit was the perfect answer to our needs. After having xmlnsnt windows installed and not wanting to mar the view/and window frame by re-installing our heavy window a/c unit, we decided to try this portable a/c. It leaves the view practically unobstructed, and causes no harm to the window itself, as there is no appreciable weight on the frame by the exhaust hose. And it cools better than our previous window unit, especially when coupled with a ceiling fan. We have very humid summers, so we've opted to use the included drain hose to carry the excess moisture into a bucket. At the end of the season, it's quickly and easily rolled away to storage; the windows can be closed so hat there is no cold air infiltration during the colder months, as there would be with a window unit. Perfect for cooling the first floor of a 1920's era row-house. My only regret is that we hadn't thought of these sooner, when we purchased window units for our bedrooms.

I purchased the AC-14000E for our upstairs bonus room that our primary central air has a hard time cooling below 85 during the 100+ temps. I opened the box I noticed the top of the unit looked scuffed and used. the sides had some scratches on it and did not look new at all. I went ahead and installed the unit which was very simple. It put out 48 degree air, measured with a temp gun, but could not lower the 400 sqft room one degree after 2 days off not stop running. This unit may work for 200 sqft but nothing bigger and is very very loud.

We purchased this for my daughter who had only a 5000 btu portable air conditioner in her bedroom -. She is in medical school and has to study all the time at home when not in school. The unit shipped the same day it was ordered arriving via FedEx 2 days later. This is a fabulous unit! It took longer to unpack the box than to get it operational. It cools my bedroom to the desired temperature within 15 minutes and I like it COLD! The remote is a huge plus and simple to use. It did seem "loud" to me at first, (although I suspect it's comparable to a window unit), but I adjusted quickly and sleep through it every night. The window panel is ingenious and was a major selling point....no wall hole. If I decide to open the window at night, it's a snap to remove and only takes a few seconds. This unit has run nearly every day since it was purchased but I still haven't had to drain it....another huge plus. An excellent purchase!

the first unit i got arrived damaged, and it did not work properly. air-n-water replaced it quickly (even at the height of their busiest season), and their stellar customer service was absolutely lovely. fed-ex delivered and picked up the packages at the door of my third-floor walk-up apartment! the new unit had a defective remote control, so air-n-water is going to send me another one. thanks, air-n-water! i'd recommend you to anyone!
this a/c is very powerful and cools my sunny, 500 sq ft attic apartment very quickly (around 8 degrees in 15 minutes). it has saved me from living in an 85-95 degree home! though there are several cons, they are fairly insignificant; this unit works great and it looks sleek, too.
cons: i had to saw down the window kit panel to fit in my 19.75-inch-high window. the air outflow can only be adjusted vertically, so to aim it horizontally, the entire unit has to be turned. the unit is quite noisy (though it's probably not noisier than any other comparable a/c). the exhaust hose doesn't connect snugly to the unit and window kit, causing some hot air to leak into the room. the EER listed on this website was incorrect--it is really 9.86 (=14,000 btu/1420 watts), not 12.26 (but still not bad). the unit releases a faint ozone smell into my home. the timer is just a 1-24h sleep timer, so the unit can't be programmed to turn on after a delay. the dehumidifier mode causes the cooling function to turn on. the remote control is poorly constructed and doesn't communicate/sync well with the unit; it stays lit a very long time and sometimes it takes several button presses to register, but it eventually gets the job done.
all in all, none of these cons is a dealbreaker, and i have zero regrets about this purchase.

In my opinion , one intake & one exhaust hose to use outside air for cooling the apparatus would probably suffice. It's not noisy considering the 14000btu's cooling my apt, while set on high fan. On low, it's barely noticeable and does a very satisfactory job of keeping my 4 BR apt comfy inside,while 95-100* with humidity 65% +
It arrived just before the heatwave , performed very well, even though it exhausts some of my cooled inside air thru the ac to cool the unit motor/compressor coils. My only issue with this model is that it loses energy efficiency by not recirculating air that has already cooled and low in humidity.

We are using this portable air conditioner in our server room. In the summer, this room can get up into the 90s, which is way too hot. The NewAir AC-14000E has done a great job of keeping the room cool and was very easy to install. We had it up and running within 30 minutes.

We bought this unit to be used on our 30' Dive Team trailer, both while in storage and on-scene for the comfort of our divers while both dressing & undressing. The main purpose was to keep their wet/dry suits at a constant, cool temperature so as to not degrade their gear due to the high replacement cost. The trailer is stored in a pole barn w/adequate ventilation but more importantly, out of the sun and elements while not in use. The company representative and website were very helpful in our selection of this model. The NewAir AC-14000E is a good portable A/C (although this is my first/only portable unit). The install of the exhaust hose system was by far the most frustrating part. The piece that connects the hose to the unit was difficult to slide on. Because the hose is so rigid it is difficult to work with. The exhaust port panel that goes into the window is tough to work with because the hose has to be connected to it and the A/C unit (because both ends of the hose have to thread in). The adjustable panels were too long for the window it was being installed into so I had to cut one down with a mitre saw; though not a big deal for me however others may be frustrated by this. I would recomend the manufacturer also create/supply a dryer type outdoor exhaust system to keep bugs (if no screen is installed) but more importantly driving from being able to get into the hose (or at least a hood where the top portion extends further out than the bottom portion). The only operational questions/issues I have is sometimes the mechanically adjustable louvers dont open when the unit is first turned on. Happens only periodically. The other operational surprise is that the compressor only runs for a short period of time. I presume this is related to how quickly it cools but it tends to be a short cycle. It does run loud, but it is a high BTU unit so that isn't too surprising. Overall despite some small items I would recommend this unit.

I use the 14000E to create a micro climate in my 3000sq ft warehouse.
It works really well in providing cooling air to my desk and packing area in my warehouse. The ambient is currently 94F (it's 110F in Texas as I write) and the unit provides workable conditions for 10-15 ft in front of it.
The next step is to install a 10ft X 20ft canopy unit with sides to create a small air conditioned office inside the warehouse.
A cheap and easy solution for Texas summers.

Ordered this and a NewAir AC-10000E. The 10000E was perfect out of the box. Easy install and cooled well. They did ship it without a remote, which was sent immediately after I notified them. The !40000E did not cool at all. We contacted Air & Water, Inc and they promptly made arrangements to replace the unit, at no cost to us. A rare example of quality customer service in today's internet shopping world. The new unit works well most of the time but does have difficulty on extremely hot and humid days. In fairness, the space is sunny, has a peaked roof, is upstairs, can't be completely closed off and is at the upper limit of the square footage range for the unit.

The AC was delivered in a well packed double box (kudos to Air & Water Inc).
It worked great out of the box. One problem: the remote control did not work. Air & Water customer service apologized and said they will mail me a new one right away.
It cools off my garage from 82 down to 74 in a couple of hours. It is only Feb so we will see how it does when the South Florida Summer Comes, That will be the real test.
I have insulated the garage door, there is one exterior concrete block wall and the other 2 walls are adjacent to Air Conditioned space. I am optimistic.
The owner's manual is not totally clear. There could be better detail. I can't find the manufacturer on the web. I believe they are a Chinese Company.
I will revise this review after we are well into the summer.

We needed a xmlnsnt for our very expensive in ceiling AC unit for our small (10'x8') server closet in the library. With budgets at a all time low, we couldn't afford to install another $8000+ commercial unit. So we purchased this instead. So far so good. We vent the heat exhaust up into our plenum ceiling space and drain the drip water into the basement. So far it keeps our server room cooled to 74 degrees (plus or minus 2 degrees). We hope it will work this well in the summer - if so we'll be super happy (and will have saved a ton of money). Only downside is the skimpy (i.e. lacking detail) manual, and the front panel display instead of displaying target temperature and actual temperature flip flops between the two.

I use the product in an 11" X 14" Arizona Room built on my patio. Because of the configuration of the room I cannot use central air and my HOA prohibits a window air conditioner. The last unit I had was a 12000 BTU residential. The NewAir definitely cools superior to my previous unit. Bear in mind that in the summer the temperature averages 105 to 117. The only criticism I have of the unit is that initially it was quite noisy. I had to shim the side panel to eliminate the vibration noise. One of the top vents also stuck and had to be manually put in motion. This problem appears to be righting itself through usage. Overall I am pleased with the performance of the unit and its cooling capability. It is recommended that you develop and provide a wall vent which in my case would be superior to the window vent as I have very long vertical windows that required two window vent kids.

I'm cooling a small server room with this unit. I wish the water drain was a little more elevated so that I wouldn't be forced to elevate the AC unit. Elevation seems to be needed because gravity will pull the water through the tube and into our water system in the building.

I purchased the NewAir AC-14000E because I live in a very small home in South Florida and I need to cool a 400 sq. ft. garage. We keep our files and home "office" out there. The unit has performed extremely well as both an air conditioner and a de-humidifier. The unit arrived in great shape, was installed in about 20 minutes, and had my insulated garage cool very quickly. The controls are easy to understand. My only problem is that I have had to raise it on a pedestal to get efficient venting out of my window. With the new controls on the top, I can't see them without a step stool. You may notice that this is my second purchase of this unit. The first one worked great, but I dropped it trying to get it up high (my fault). Thanks.

We are very satisfied with our portable air conditioner. It cools our tiny studio apt. very well. Securing the exhaust hose to the unit and the window vent is always a challenge because there is nothing to really secure it place. I let the building manager install ours. One drawback is that you have to move the entire unit in order to direct the air flow in a different direction. I would like to see an oscillating feature added. Overall, an excellent unit.

I am very pleased with the performance of this unit. It was simple to put together, and we had it working in about 15 minutes. I bought it for my parents who needed spot cooling in their home, and they are very happy to have it. My only complaint was that it was a bit scratched when it arrived, but it did not in any way affect the way it runs. I also did not receive the extra filters I ordered and paid for.

Am really pleased with this AC. With the automatic air directional air vent you can get the air to you where you need it before it has time to cool the room down. We have it a room about 13'X15' and it is much more than I expected. It Is a truly good AC. Not as efficent as a window unit but still a great unit. Easy installation to. Sure beats all the problems of installing a heavy window unit.

The portable air conditioner was easy to install once I'd constructed a custom-made window to accommodate the exhaust tube. As for its performance, we can say that it's very effective, reasonably quiet (quieter than the seven fans we've had to run simultaneously!), and, so far, there's been no evidence of condensation that had to be drained. That must mean that a lot of the usual, expected moisture is venting through the exhaust hose? Wonderful! It took us 45 years of living together before we decided to buy our first air conditioner. What took us so long?

When I first received the unit and fired it up it had a rattle coming from the compressor. I called Air-N-Water and within 4 days I had a xmlnsnt and it works perfectly. I am very happy with Air-N-Water and very happy with the new unit. Super customer service and a super unit. My apartment is 484 sq. and it cools the entire apartment. Thank you Air-N-Water for all of your help and for standing behind your product. There is no doubt in my mind that I will do business with Air-N-Water when need be.

We use the unit in the living room and it also cools the kitchen and dining room. A small fan in the hall and it also cools the bedrooms. Nice unit although a bit loud and the fan never shuts off. Ordering though Air & Water products was a pleasure, everything went as expected.

We purchased the AC-14000 for a Home Video Studio. We have several computers running all the time that create a great deal of heat. We use these computers for video production and editing. This unit does a fantastic job of removing all of the heat in this room. Living in Phoenix Arizona is like living in an oven if you do not have the proper air conditioning. Our home A/C Unit could not keep our studio cool because of all the equipment running. This is why we purchased a portable a/c unit. It was the best investment we have made in a long time. We not only stay cool, the equipment will last a lot longer because of the cooler environment. We highly recommend this unit for anyone that needs a portable a/c unit.

This product has worked wonderfully for us. However, if you want a "quiet" unit, this probably isn't the one for you. But, do keep in mind that even the units advertised as being "library quite" are NOT going to live up to that description. Air conditioners are noisy...that's just the way it is. If you need low levels of noise, only forced air will accomplish this. Our house has been cool and comfortable since we started using this unit, and we have been enduring 100 degree plus temperatures.

Very easy to put together. I have a living room and dining room that are closed off from other rooms and I started the unit around 8:30pm and my apartment was 91 degrees. After two hours I was a 87 degrees. So it's unclear to me how long I have to leave it on to have it really take down the temp in those two rooms. I moved it to my bedroom which is the size of one of those rooms and it still takes almost an hour before the room cools down enough to be in it. I have used it two nights and so far, it's never gotten below 76 in my bedroom which means it doesn't shut off when it's reached max cooling of 74 which is the setting it came with. We are having a heat wave so I'm not sure if this is normal. My room is cool enough to sleep comfortably in a heat wave and so far I have not had to empty the water tray so that part is good. The hose going to the window does get really hot and sometimes if it gets positioned funny hot air comes out from where the hose is screwed in. Maybe I didn't put the hose far enough in. It is noisy, but not nosier than a window unit. The convenience of moving it around and not having to take out my screens to put in a window unit far outweighs any negatives.
