Question:
Is there a kit foe sliding glass doors ?
- Anonymous on 2014-05-10
Answer:
Yes, you can call and purchase and extended window kit to fit a sliding glass door. The sku you would ask for is AC-10000WK.
- CustomerServiceSTAFF on 2014-05-12
Answer:
I don't know - we use this in a office.
- John D. on 2014-05-12
Answer:
Yes, included.
- Dean T. on 2014-05-13
Answer:
I am venting my AC unit through a sliding glass window (6' x 5' ) in my Florida room which is essentially the same as a sliding glass door & frame. The supplied plastic pieces for venting the unit were not tall enough so I used a pine fence board and cut to the width needed (inside measurement of the plastic vent pieces provided with unit) then incorporating the plastic piece with the vent hose connection cut the board to the desired height. Since my installation is semi-permanent, I have wedged 1 x 2 boards at the top and bottom of the window for security purposes. Most standard sliding glass doors are 6' 8" in height so any 5/8 or 3/4 board 6' in length can be cut to fit. Hope this helps.

Question:
power usage?
- Anonymous on 2014-05-23
Answer:
My electric bill was pretty high last summer, I had the AC running in my master suite all the time with the thermostat. This year I am only turning it on when I need it! Not sure how to measure this but my bill was probably about $200 - $250 extra per month (in Southern California) with this running all the time. I must say, my room was the one room in the house the family loved to hang out in on the hot days!
- Wendy A. on 2014-05-23
Answer:
I believe maximum power usage is 900 watts when the compressor is on. That's about the same as the average microwave. Power consumption is likely much less when the compressor cycles off periodically. I have not seen a noticeable increase in the monthly power bill.
- Audie W. on 2014-05-23
Answer:
The unit uses a normal 110V outlet. The electrical usage is minimal, since it only pulls about 10 amps. MAX
- Richard B. on 2014-05-23
Answer:
Have not been able to use the unit yet, because it came without a window kit. When I am able to use it, I will see if I can answer this. Although I don't know anything about power usage and all that stuff. Don't know how I would even track that.
- Jennifer K. on 2014-05-23
Question:
Do u have to put a hose in the window?
- Jo R. on 2014-06-29
Answer:
Yes, it comes with an accordion duct and adjustable panel that you fits in most windows.
- Nam N. on 2014-07-09
Answer:
Yes you do. I have purchased 2 units. The one in the kitchen is routed through a hole in the wall. The 2nd unit is in my wife's office and uses the window. The only complaint is that the duct doesn't stay on unless you use some tape to hold it in place. Other than that, the units work GREAT!!!
- Ken F. on 2014-06-30
Answer:
Yes, the unit requires the use of the exhaust hose. You can either exhaust out the window or through the wall.
- CustomerServiceSTAFF on 2014-06-30
Answer:
afraid to use because window is to high for hose to be right
- James G. on 2014-06-30
Answer:
no, i have used it every day for a month and havent had to drain it yet
- Nicole K. on 2014-07-07
Question:
how to air conditioner only ?
- Anonymous on 2014-07-04
Answer:
I have asthma, so clean cool air is very important to me. I leave my AC on all the time....just set it for the temp you're most comfortable with and let the NewAir clean and refresh your home. Hope that helps ! Jan
- Janice G. on 2014-07-08
Answer:
It works great in our party room of 555 square feet accommodating up to 20 people at a time during the summer months. We have had the unit about 3 years now with no problems. I followed the owner's manual when setting it up
- Douglas T. on 2014-07-07
Answer:
read instruction manual!!!! very simple
- Mark S. on 2014-07-07
Answer:
This is an air conditioner, you have to set up a large tube that pulls the air in from a window. It needs to be next to a window
- Wendy A. on 2014-07-07
Answer:
Not sure what you are asking but it is a great a/c that does not need draining very often. I have used it every day since i got it a month ago and did not have to drain it once
- Nicole K. on 2014-07-07
Question:
does this unit need to be emptied?
- Anonymous on 2015-04-08
Answer:
Hello, Some water may accumulate in the water tank over time and especially so if you are using the unit in a humid environment. This unit does collect a lot less water than units without the auto-evaporative cooling technology.
- Mark S. on 2015-04-08
Answer:
Yes, it will occasionally need to be emptied. In my experience about once a month; almost all of my use of this unit is throughout the night, so it may need to be emptied more often if depending on how much you use it.
- Jason F. on 2015-04-08
