Port A Cool PAC2KCYC01 Cyclone 3000 Commercial Swamp Cooler With Small Footprint

I am very disappointed with the cooler . I don't notice any difference in temperature in my garage.

I am a repeat customer. I bought a very small unit a year ago. The reviews for it were spot on. It has lasted a full year cooling my chicken coop OUTSIDE. Yes, the orig unit is/was exposed to the elements here in the Southwest desert. Still works perfectly. Only reason I upgraded to the Port-a-Cool was the need to have a hose connection and also cool a larger space when needed (my garage). I did a lot of research before buying. The Port-a-Cool is very well made. Solid, durable and equipped with great controls. The folks at Air-n-Water were helpful and customer oriented before the sale. Communication with them has been above average. Have not needed post-sale support so cannot comment on that. The only comment that I would make in the "room for improvement" category is the understatement by the manufacturer that the pads "may have an odor upon initial startup." The "odor" was overwhelming, even headache producing. I ran the unit in my garage for 4 full days before it was tolerable. It has been several weeks now and the unit is odorless and functioning flawlessly. I am surprised and delighted that during the monsoon season here in Phoenix, the unit still cools (have a wireless thermometer in our chicken coop) despite high humidity. This was a good buy at the best price I could find. Two thumbs up for the product and for Air-n-Water. As a P.S., even the Port-a-Cool packaging is solid enough to keep for other household projects!

Most people told me this would not work in my garage because in the Houston area it is to humid. The cooler does drop the temp quite a bit I stay out in the garage because I am a smoker now with this cooler it is now my living room. Just leave the garage door open about a foot or two and put a fan on the other side of the room pointing out for exhausted air with the cooler pointing in. They also have great deals on portable air conditioners. I bought one of the from them and they carry great quality better than the big box stores and lower in price.

Been using my Cyclone 3000 for 3 weeks now and the service from Air & Water was OK but I have to say the cooler isn't what I was hoping for. It does blow cool(not cold) air but unless you are standing right in front of it it's useless. The squirrel cage blower blows an airstream about 2 feet wide. Extra louvers are needed to direct air in a wider area. The Cyclone 3000 isn't worth the money. I'd send it back if the restocking fee wasn't so much.

I live in texas hot weather. these days have been in the triple digits for over 25 days in a row. that was one of the reasons I purchased the port-a-cool pac2kcyc01 Cyclone 3000. I didn't know how much it was going to help me but, I'll tell you what, Its the best puchase I have ever made. The port-a-cool keeps my working area about 10 degees cooler. I dont think I could have made it throu this summer with out the cooler. Thanks!

This was the easiest online purchase that I ever made. After shopping around it was the best price that I could find and just a few days later, the Cyclone cooler was delivered to my door. The cooler is being used in my home shop and allows me to tinker in my shop even in the hottest Texas weather. I would highly recommend this for any application.

I purchased the Port-A-Cool unit to be used in a 2 bay shop as individual work station cooler. Summer temperatures of 105 degrees and higher than normal humidity gave the unit a real test. While not like refrigerated air system, it did provide relief. Works best in 85-90 degree weather with lower humidity, but still was a good investment and is durable enough to last many summers. Only suggestion would be to allow air deflection to cover a wider area, pretty much is directed to a single confined area.

I work at an enclosed boiler power plant. The temperature inside the boiler house can reach 140-180 deg in some places and by not having windows it can be pretty bad for employees who must do work in those areas. This is a very dry heat which is perfect for the port-a cool. Our employees bring it right to the job which allows them a great relief from the massive amount of heat.

I purchased my swamp cooler for my horse who does not sweat. I needed something that I could use in the barn that would hold up and do a good job of blowing cold air on him to help keep his body temperature low due to the extreme heat and humidity. I know they are not recommended for Florida due to our humidity, but it is working great. It is in front of his stall and he spends most of his time right in front of it, but it does reach him at the back of his stall where his hay is kept. It has been a great investment and the help I received from Air & Water was amazing, especially in this day and age where you can never talk to anyone. I asked all kinds of questions and they never made me feel like I was an idiot!! Thank you. I definitely would recommend this product to anyone in Florida.

My family uses the cyclone 3000 outside in the hot, hot Florida temperatures during the summer its GREAT. It lowers the temperature from 95 degrees down to 74 degrees or lower. This is probably the best item I have purchased this year. We are very satisfied with its performance.

I received my Cyclone 3000 two days before leaving on vacation. I ran the unit non-stop during those two days to "prime" the pads. The unit was kicking out some pretty cold air but I am hoping to get a more significant drop after a few more days of run time. My only complaint with Air & Water is that they sent the wrong color. I had requested Sienna, only because there was an option, but Black is just fine. It is in a shop after all!

We have high humidity here so I rigged up a plastic 55 gal drum with a faucet filled it with; ice water and feed the fan from the drum. It makes a big difference in the temp. We use it camping on the patio and will be ordering another one soon for our church ball field thanks for being so helpful and prompt on delivery. We got it in four days even with the 4th of July holiday.

The unit itself is fantastic and works as I hoped. When I received the unit there was a broken peice on the air inlet side due to over tightening of screws. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they would replace it. I still have not seen the xmlnsnt part and they have not answered my second email. Great product and great service from Air and Water, but poor customer service from the manufacturer.

I am very pleased with my Port-A-Cool cooler, being retired I spend a good deal of time in a small work shop at my home, living in the south the summer temperatures make it unbearable to enjoy my hobbies. I had heard of these coolers but the expense seemed a little to much, until my wife and I had an opportunity to travel for a week outside the country. After we checked the price to board our three dogs at the vet we decided it would be cheaper to buy the port-a-cooler leave the dogs at home and have the neighbors feed them, well everything worked perfectly, our pets prefer the cooler now more than being inside and I have air conditioning in my work shop. I couldn't be happier with my purchase it really does bring the temperature down about 20 degrees. Thanks for a great product.

I use this product in a metal building to cool a space for two men to work. We have found that if you stand right in front of the cooler it works great but if you are any distance from the cooler it doesn't.

I work in a VERY hot service department at a well known auto dealership in town. The port-a-cool cyclone is perfect for any auto technician needing portable cooling. The large capacity water tank lasts all day without refilling during a busy day. The unit is very durable and strong to withstand the harsh environment that any shop will dish out!

This unit works very well. Low setting cools my 20x20 shop by 20 degrees. Unit seems well constructed. Quiet operation (about the same as a 16 inch box fan). Runs for a half day on one tank of water. Delivery was very fast.

It was my best purchase in 2009. Cools great, efficient energy consumption. I am ready for 2010 summer.
