I bought the Dayton Electric Heater to keep my basement warm so that the pipes won't freeze. We purchased this because we recently purchased a totally refurbished 2 family house. Since the new furnace doesn't throw off any heat, the basement temperature gets close to freezing. After thawing frozen pipes, I was introduced to the Thermostatic Electric heater. It is perfect as it keeps the temperature in the basement at a constant 50 degree temp. No worry now and no frozen pipes. I just had the electrician come over and wire the basement and hang it from the ceiling beam. Perfect.

I got this heater to warm a 22 x 22 insulated garage. The first night I plugged it in it was 30 outside and inside it was 52. Turned on the unit, went inside for 1 hr, and the garage was 66 and rising. The thermostat allows you to chose your temp which is great. Loud, maybe, but once it's up to temp, it's not on for long. Highly recommended!

I purchased the Dayton L5600 Electric Heater for my garage. It is a new garage with 6"" walls insualtion and air barrier, two 8' X 8' doors, 22' X 22' with nine foot ceilings. There is living space above and I have r-30 insulation in the ceiling. I was skeptical, but this thing is great in the mid 20's and I had the thermostat up half way and was in a tee shirt and flannel shirt and was plenty warm, if I were to turn it up all the way it would be to hot. The size is great also very small and compact so it does not take up much room. I give this one a 5 out of 5 and have been telling all my freinds about it, would recomend it for a garage heater to any one.
