To be honest with you, I haven't used it yet. It was purchased in anticipation of my Florida room being finished. Its purpose is to do for my Florida room what my central air does for the rest of the condo, that is, kick in when the humidity gets to a certain point. Personally, it's the only item I found on the market that does this (in one component.) The only drawback I see is that it is limited to 7.5 amps. Fortunately, my A/C only draws 6.8. June 3, 2010
