It uses silver clean technology because silver is known to kill 650 species of bacteria or viruses simply by coming into contact with them.The Germ Guardian H3010 digital ultrasonic humidifier is also virtually silent in operation because it uses ultrasonic technology. Ultrasonic technology is a metal diaphragm vibrating at an ultrasonic frequency to water droplets. It makes the operation so quiet, you won't be disturbed—even when sleeping.
With the H3010 digital ultrasonic humidifier, you have the option of warm or cool humidification. Warm moisture makes the room feel warmer because of the warm vapor being released into the air and cool moisture causes the air to feel cooler. Also included is a digital time display, a low water indicator light, and variable spray control for use in small and large rooms. There are no added costs such as evaporating pads, filters or wicks to clean or replace.

I purchased the humidifier because I have a grand piano in my small apartment and need to keep the humidity even and between 42 and 50%. I keep the humidifier about 12 feet from the piano. The total space of the living/dining room is about 385 square feet. I have found it easy to use and to refill but adequate, even at the highest setting, only when the weather is above 40 degrees outside. When it falls below that it?s almost impossible to raise the humidity above 35%. This may be because two walls of the apartment are glass.
