This filter kit is recommended for use in rooms where gaseous pollutants such as cigarette and cigar smoke or other VOC's (volatile organic compounds, such as most household paints) are present. On first use, you may notice a slight odor from the enhanced active carbon; this will dissipate quickly as it always does. Includes 3 particle filters with enhanced active carbon, one for the top, left, and right sides of the unit.
