NewAir AC-10000E 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

Although a basic unit, this really performs well. It easily cools the 16X20 master bedroom on the second floor as well, in my opinion, as my Sharp CV-2P10SX. The Sharp is MUCH quieter so it's now in my eight year old son's bedroom and I get the noisier unit. The position of the squirrel cage blower fan being closer to the vent is what makes this so much louder. Still, it moves an amazing amount of air for a smaller unit. The Sharp is a 10,500 BTU unit and in this sized room, the New Air keeps up easily. The window mount kit is higher quality than the Sharp, surprisingly, but it won't extend enough to fit any windows in my house. I had to take a piece of the packing foam that came with the box and extend it with duct tape. That should be quickly addressed by the manufacturer as it's an unnecessary nuisance. The New Air also has a cord that's about a foot longer, very nice. The vents are very limited in operation, the Sharp has much more flexibility. The New Air vents can only be adjusted side to side and it is fixed in an upwards position. The controls are simple and the remote has a better range than the Sharp does. It lacks the ion generator and automatic louvers of the Sharp but the water exhaust system is much more efficient. I have to drain water from the Sharp a few times a day and have not had to drain the New Air a single time. It is also more compact, about half the width and similar depth. The filter system is modest but functional while the Sharp has a dual reusable filter system. The LED light is extremely bright for a display, it will actually cast shadows on the walls, my son thought my toes were hilariously gigantic. A piece of duct or electrical tape will take care of that issue. The Sharp?s light can be turned off. Very minor inconvenience. It?s just two men and a dog so running the central air is way too expensive and we have an open basement stairwell that keeps the main floor cool with a good ceiling fan. Cooling the upstairs bedrooms is all we need even in the 90 plus degree heat this summer in Colorado. Overall, for the $150 price difference, the New Air is the winner for simple cooling and convenience. If you want a "Library" quiet machine, the Sharp is definitely quieter. For my living room or TV/Family room, , I would use the Sharp but at night, I don't mind the fan noise as it masks out ambient noise. The New Air deserves it?s rating as the best bargain portable air conditioner.

This unit was purchased for my office room that 4 people occupy. The office room is much larger than your average bedroom. I'd say perhaps twice the size of an average master bedroom. This unit has given me and my 3 other co-workers so much cooling relief when the room temperature rises above a level that would be uncomfortable (warm stale air, self-fanning, etc) for an office environment. It is easy to set up and use, size is compact, and the noise level is acceptable. The most amazing feature to me is the self-evaporation feature which makes this product essentially maintenance free. The timer is very useful since the last person in the office doesn't have to remember to turn off the unit. If I could buy a unit for my home, this would be the one. Unfortunately my house is in a neighborhood that prohibits even the installation of an outlet panel. Running the exhaust tube to the attic is something I need to look into. Anyway this portable AC unit performs very well and is what I would pick for personal use.

The NewAir AC 10000 E cools my small living room quite adequately. However, if I wanted to adjust the cooling so it is directed to a particular area of the room, all I needed to do was change the position of the AC - very easy to do. Installation was a breeze. I am quite happy with its. performance so far

The dehumidifying function alone is great on this unit but it also does an excellent job of cooling down very hot spaces. I do not find that it cools as large of an area as I thought it would but, to be fair, it is being used in Florida where the heat and humidity has been very high. There had also been a lot of moisture in the air since the central air conditioner had been broken for over 2 weeks. The remote control and window venting materials of this portable AC are top notch. The price, in my opinion, is very reasonable, too. I would definitely recommend this portable air conditioner!

This was my first portable air conditioner and I'm happy with it. Pros: 1) It was easy to install, I didn't even need the directions. 2) I ran it for a month straight before I had to empty water from it (I live in LA though and we have low humidity) 3) My apartment was unbearably hot and now it feels just fine, and I can sleep at night. 4) The staff at Air and Water were helpful and polite. Cons: 1) It doesn't make my apartment freezing, just makes it comfortable, but I think that's portable air conditioners in general. 2) Doubled my electric bill, again, air conditioners in general, not just this product. 3) The window attachment isn't made for large windows, but I was able to make it work pretty easily. Other reviews have said it's noisy and it's really not, also some people say the lights are too bright, they don't bother me but I think if it was right next to my bed they'd be pretty bright. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought this to use in the rear of my toy hauler travel trailer. I am using the rear as an office temporarily. The unit has been great and cools flawlessly. I have yet to empty the reservoir and the unit has been running 24/7 in the hot Dallas sun. It is a little noisy at times but heck, it is a portable unit. The price is great and delivery was good as it always has been when dealing with Air and Water.

The New Air 10000 BTU is not the strongest A/C out there but it gets the job done. Under average humidity and upper 90's conditions it can usually maintain a room temp of about 78 to 76. I had it on max power in my living/dining room, openly connected to my kitchen, which is about 400 sq feet + 100 sq feet.

I purchased this unit to cool my bedroom (about 10' x 10', third floor, lots of sunlight). I didn't want to spend a ton of money for a unit, but I didn't want to buy a cheap one that wouldn't do the trick, either. I did my research and this unit seemed to provide everything I needed. It cools my room well, was easy to install and is equally easy to operate. Bottom line--this is a great product and buying it through Air & Water was a breeze! So nice to have it delivered to my door--and quickly, too!

I've had this portable ac for about a month now. I decided to get a portable ac over a window mounted one because I have burglar bars over my windows. The ordering, and setup process was fairly easy. I received the product within a week and i'm on the east coast. Moving on to the product performance. My room usually is always directly in front of the sun as a result it is usually significantly hotter in my room than outside. I'm not sure if my room measurements are off. But this unit does not cool my room dramatically. It will cool it down maybe 3-5degrees at most. With that said, I use it mostly as a spotter cooler and I also like the air filter function. When i'm facing it towards me working on my desk or sleeping on my bed it cools adequately. The air filter is a plus and it helps keep the dust lower in my room. Since I've had this unit I have not had to empty out the water tray. And from what I have read it also has one of the highest eer rating among similar products. So this is a big plus. It can be a bit noisy, but it has not interrupted my sleep. The lights on the controls are pretty bright. Overall, I would recommend this as a spot cooler, or for use in a small room. The features, pricing, and service from this website cannot be beat. This is probably the best portable ac you can get in this price range.

I had to return this unit due to the noise. Only happens when the compressor kicks in. It's a shame because the unit works well. I recieved the unit quickly and since I am returning they are picking up the cost. I would do business with them again. Very good people to work with. To bad they can't fix the vibration problem.

The first unit came in defective. Called customer support , they were really responsive and sent me a replacement immediately. The return policy is straight forward. Filled up an online RMA form, printed out the shipping label and had fedex pick up the defective unit. AirNWater provides free shipping return on defective units. The replacement unit came within a week and so far we are really pleased with the purchase. The unit is quiet, easy to install and the cooling is great. I would definitely recommend this unit for a small room ( about 300-350 sqft).

Have used for one month in a 175 sg ft upstairs office. 74 deg was as cool as it would cool the room. Colorado had hottest temps in years and this was the perfect personal A/C. Rated at 350 sqft coverage, I won't give it that rating. If unit is set on auto and low fan and within 10 ft of you, it works great for those hotter days. Don't expect this unit to cool 350 sqft efficiently. Would only recommend as small office space/bedroom/kitchen A/C. Set up is a snap, window accessory fits well, connector hose is sturdy [much better than most dryer exhaust hoses] easy to use controls, remote works well, rolls easy, retains vey little water in tray.

this air conditioner works great for the room you are in which is what it is suppose to do. the only downfall is that it does need to be drained of the condensation from time to time. the other down fall is the rubber plug at the bottom where you drain it from comes out easily, but it is very hard to put that plug back in. it is as if it were swollen. I do not know what to do.

This air conditioner does not lie-up to the hype in the onine reviews! It BARELY cools 225 square feet. I need to rrun it for hours to bring down room temo by a few degrees. Installationis also an issue: manual recommends a "straight" exhaust hose, but who has double-hung windoww only 10" above the floor? I suggest people keep looking and not purchase this product

For a 10000 btu air conditioner it is very disappointing. I have had better results in the same room with a 5000 btu window unit.

Only used it once so far. Did not have a problem with installation. Wish it fit better in window. Does not fit securely on both sides of replacement type casement window. It's okay, but wished it was a better fit. Very easy to use and cools sufficiently.

Love it, except for the position of the exhaust hose- according to diagram, it should stretch almost straight to the window, without kinks or bends, but it is so low to the ground! My apartment windows don't come down that far; I am trying to adapt a TV cart to stand the unit on, to raise it up and to have easier access for draining. I am disabled and can't move the unit without help, so I want to be ready when draining time comes. Also, the exhaust hose would not "thread" onto either the unit or the adaptor for the window-- it kept popping out so finally I duct-taped it on. After running it constantly for 2 days, the duct tape got too warm and loose and came off, easily re-taped. On a 90 + humid day in Chicago, it cooled my bedroom very quickly, was not too loud, allowed me to get some sleep! Still haven't seen the light come on to signal that it needs draining. I really like how this model expels the heat it generates out through the exhaust hose, my friend was amazed it was not warm around the unit itself. I recommend it, just buy some good duct tape too!

I bought this for my 15 year old son's attic bedroom and he loves it. It quickly cools his room and helps him to sleep much better. He especially likes the remote control so he can change the options from his bed. Typically kid. I researched options online and I liked the features this one offered. It arrived when promised.

Our house has a undersized central AC and instead of putting another 6-7k on a new unit went with this unit after reading all the reviews. Ordered this portable air conditioner to help cool our master bedroom that faces west. Very fast shopping and setting up the unit was a breeze. To get a tight fit in the window I used a weather strip foam tape. The product has cooled our room well and has been very easy to use. Will be looking at how it handles during the peak TX summer. Overall very satisfied with this product.

It's doing a great job! I've had it plugged in for several days now and it is keeping bedroom and master bath a consistently comfortable temperature. My only problem is that I cannot use as a true PORTABLE because at my age I cannot lift its 60 lbs. to move it. Due to space issues in the bedroom where it is needed most, it has to sit on top of a piece of furniture to reach the window for venting. It would also have to sit on something to reach in living room.

Recieved this ac in a few days. It was easy to set up and so far works great. We are using it to cool our livingroom, dining room and kitchen area that are all open. The windows in these rooms just are not good for a window type ac. This is really a good alternative. I can move it in and out as needed. I picked this model after a lot of research because it is the best rated one.

Yesterday was the first day in the Northeast that I was able to use the unit. It performed as well as I expected. The only drawback that I could find so far, is the vent hose is too low on the AC to fit on my window without putting a kink in it. In other words, it sags. The service was beyond excellent. I ordered it on a Friday PM Eastern time. It was shipped the same day and it arrived the following Friday. The packaging was excellent.

My wife and I love this thing and run it in our master bedroom every night so that we don't have to cool the entire house just to be comfortable. The problem is that the control panel on this thing looks like a freaking UFO is landing in your bedroom! It is bright green and there is no way to turn it off. Covering it up has turned into a major arts and crafts project for me. Maybe other people can get a good nights sleep with ET casting an eerie bright green glow throughout their room, but we can't. Otherwise, this is a great unit. I'm thinking about getting one for my home office.

Great air conditioner for a small area or room. Keeps area cool pretty well. Easy to use and install. I like how it recycles water to enable us to empty it less.

We order this A/C for those days when our evaporation cooler doesn't work. It certainly cools our small kitchen/living room area, which is all we wanted. When we're done, we simply store it away in a back room. It stores away conveniently. My only surprise was the size of the hose that went through the window and how that was set up. It took a moment to get it to work well. The problem is that if it rains or the wind blows it will enter through the hose facing straight out the window. So instead of putting it where I had originally intended, I put it in a window that was more protected from rain and wind.

I replaced an 8000btu window unit with the 10000btu new air. With the bedroom door closed, the lowest temperature I've been able to get is 73 degrees. That's running on high for several hours. It's also noisier than the window unit I have. I will probably move this to another room as it's not cooling the room and makes a lot of noise. I bought this based on other reviews. Seems to have worked well for others, but is not really a product I would recommend based on my experience.

i was afraid of not being able to make it work or move it around because i am not familiar with air conditioners - let alone this kind. it was easy to apply a thick piece of acrylic ($60 cut to fit at lowe's) to the window casing and secure with 2 screws to allow for installation in my crank out tall anderson windows. the settings are weird but you will figure out a good setting you'll be happy with within the first day of use. the air is ice cold and the fan blows far into the room. the exaust hose is stable in it's fittings and has not gotten too hot as of yet. the only thing is that i'd like is to be able to set the "auto temp." lower but it is a default 74 degrees. really hot days are coming and i have a good weapon against the heat with this air conditioner. it is easy to move around it is on wheels :)

In lieu of window air conditioner and having a very bad back and neck, I decided to try a portable air conditioner. this was a wise choice. it not only is easy to roll from room to room, but it dehumidifies at the same time. you cannot go wrong with this. for anyone who has physical limitations and cannot bend or lift alot, this is one product that works for you. the only thing is when you need to empty the unit of condensation, it is a little hard to reach as it is way at the bottom and you need a flat enough pan to get under the unit to have to water go into. but that does not have to be done often unless you have several humid days in a row. the remote control is a great feature and I enjoy this product on hot humid days. I highly recommend this product.

I use it for a small 7' by 14' workout room and it works great. It takes a few min's to cool the room and is sufficient. It's a room with 2 outside walls and has no cooling other than this portable a/c unit. I'm in Florida so we'll have to wait til summer to see if it can keep up but I think it will.....great product for the price too.

I researched alot of different portable AC and decided on this one for our bedroom(we purchased a larger unit for our kitchen/living area). Installing the exhaust hose and window section was easy, I had it done in about 20 mins by myself. This machine drops the 79 degree temp in our bedroom by 5 degrees in 15 mins and continues to drop it even lower. It works great. My only complaint is that the drain plug is too far to the bottom but after lifting the ac off the ground by 6 in (I had a hard plastic rectangular box it now sets on) it is very easy to drain. To any one looking to purchase any portable ac I would recommend doing this if a permanent drain is not an option. After running the ac every night and some during the day as well, for the past week in very humid 75 degree heat I checked the drain and was pleasantly surprised to find no water at all.

Did a short test as it is Nov and we really can't get the full effect of it's real power but it seems to be a good size for our area. We hope to be sleeping cool next summer. We'll let you know.

The room i was cooling only had skylight windows.Originally I ducted it through one but this didn't work well, so had to duct into a storage space with a exhaust fan. This solved the problem and it works well for a portable A/C.My only grip was the mode setting.I assumed that auto ment that you set the temp. to 70 And it would run until it reaches that level.But to my surprise the A/C would shut off at 74 and come on at 78,never reaching the temp. setting.Finally called customer service an explained my problem.The answer was not to use auto to obtain a given temperature,rather put the mode setting to cool.On auto the condenser would shut off and on within the 4 degree range and that is how it's suppose to work. Instructions never explained this.

I've been using the New Air 10,000 BTU for some time now, and it performs as promised -- which is saying a lot. I put it that way because I should have gotten either a 12,000, or better yet, a 14,000. I thought that a 10,000 unit would be more than big enough, but I wasn't quite right for I under estimated the size and heat of the room. Fortunately for me, the 10,000 unit met the challenge; it just takes a couple of extra minutes, but it keeps the room comfortable. I love that! I'll probably upgrade to a bigger unit in the near future just based on my own impatience, and it will more than likely be a New Air. Their units are easy to use and are well made. But I have to say that I will certainly buy from air-n-water in any event. The unit didn't get here quickly, it got here rapidly! I was realy surprised. As long as they keep taking care of business the way they do, I'm staying put.

We have slider windows, and have always had to either cut a piece of wood to fit window around an air conditioner or do cardboard and tape it up>AAAARRRRGGGHH. With this unit I just slid the pieces together, and voila, job was done. We have a large living room and it has kept it very comfortable. I love it. and the fact that I can roll it around, I don't have to find someone to lift it in and out of the window.

My NewAir portable air conditioner is the best purchase I've made in years. It installs in minutes and can moved from room to room with ease. I was expecting this to be a noisy machine, but that is not the case. The only way I know it's in the room is that I'm no longer sweating while watching t.v.

This unit works as advertised. Cools a 10' x 15' room no problem, but anything more than that is too much. Unit is quiet and easy to set up. My only complaints are that the vents don't adjust vertically and the display is so bright that it needs to be covered at night if located in a bedroom. Our family room was beastly hot in the Florida summers. No one wanted to be in that room. Now with our portable air conditioner, everyone wants to be in there. Our unit arrived quickly, was easy to install and is easy to use. Our three-year-old grandson likes to turn it on and adjust it. There is some noise with it but it really doesn't interfere with conversation or television watching. I don't know why we waited so long to purchase. Our family room is now as cool as the rest of our house. It is everything we hoped it would be.

I read the other reviews. I bought two of these for my log home in SW Colorado. The upstairs bedrooms have 17' ceilings and are about 240 sq ft floor space, both with 52" ceiling fans. The units easily cools the rooms to the point where the girls covered themeselves with comforters, even when the temps outside were hitting 90 in the daytime. I let the units sit for three days upright before turning them on, as this could be a major cause of failure in some complaints. The shippers ship them any which way, and the unit's compressor oil has to settle to the bottom or you risk blowing the unit. These were vented using dryer vent tube and vent, blowing heated air outside of the house. The only issue was when we lost power; the unit resets itself to the factory setting which is the fan only, not the fan and the AC on.

I purchased this unit mainly because of the portability and ease of use, as I did not want a window air conditioner which would have to stay in one room. It is a nice looking unit, seems well constructed, and cooled sufficiently for my needs. It was no noisier than the average window unit. It required some adjustment to vent out my windows because the venting system didn't fit any of my windows in my circa 1890's house. I am totally satisfied with my purchase, and I am even considering getting one for my elderly parents.

I had no idea Portable AC's technology had advanced so much. The AC-10000E I took a chance on has surprised me beyond belief. The evaporative technology works great. I did not expect this feature to be this advanced. I am completely amazed. The ONLY drawback I've had was that I underestimated the power of the South Florida Sun in mid-afternoon. Due to my own fault with this issue, I had to order a larger AC unit. I bought the Soleus LX-140 14000 BTU to step up a notch and have kept the 10000 BTU for another area of my house. I would recommend both units,sized for your applicable needs, but don't underestimate your needs like I did.

Even though we have central air, it doesn't sufficiently cool our bedroom on the second floor. The NewAir portable air conditioner has made a remarkable difference in our ability to have a cool, comfortable night's sleep. The sound is moderate, and easy to adapt to. It cools very quickly and does not need to be turned on ahead of time. We are able to leave our screen in the window, and the set up was very easy. We would recommend this air conditioner to everyone!

We have 2 story 4 bedroom home with central air unit, all the bedrooms are on 2nd floor and it seems not enough air flow through these bedroom specially master bedroom b/c its size and in the neighborhood we live in does not allow window unit that why we purchased portable unit. Last year we bought a unit 8000BTU for one of the bedroom and its performance ok until we see this NewAir AC-10000E BTU for about same price we had paid for other one so we bought this NewAir to use in master bedroom. It's easy to hook up, look nice and so far its working great, it does not take long to cool down the room and we're happy with it. The only drawback of this unit is the read out light was so bright especially at night we have to put something there to cover its brightness.

Relatively quiet. Easy to install. Cools windowless, glass walled sun drenched room.

I like the product. It was easy to install and works good. My only suggestion is to include a longer curtain to put in the window. My window is about 6 inches longer than the curtain. I had to jury-rig something to extend the curtain.

I am so pleased with the portable air conditioner. It can freeze me out of the bedroom...just what I wanted. It makes sleeping so much easier with cold and no humidity! I CAN stand moving back to FL now! When I am the only one home I can put the house AC higher and just run my unit. Thank You

Seems to work fine so far, but haven't had hot summer temps (90+) yet. We have had some upper 80 degree days and it did great. We are using it in a masterbed/bath that is less than 300 sq ft.

Shipping was very fast, AC unit arrived very well packaged and not damaged. unit blows very cold, but is slightly loud. I would recommend this AC to everyone looking for a portable ac unit. Air&Water sales was great. I would use the again without a second thought.

I recently enclosed my lanai with sliding windows and needed a way to control heat and humidity gain in summer and cold in winter. AC 10000e does the job. I run 24 hours on automatic. My only problem is I have uncovered windows and direct sunlight in the afternoon, which increases temperatures between 3 pm and 6 pm beyond the AC-10000e's range. I have since ordered Air & Water's 14000 btu. I'll keep the AC-10000e to fill in if we ever have extra blistering days here in FL.

I bought the AC-10000E to install in my 1995 RV because the AC in the RV don't work and it would cost me thousands of dollars to have it repaired. I searched several local stores for a unit that was compact and the cooling capacity to do the job. I searched the Internet and found this AC-10000E. This unit is perfect for the job. It works great and the price is very reasonable. Oh the unit is very quiet when running. Oh the bad things about this unit I haven't found any. Thanks.

I have not got to use the unit much yet, but it seems to work well for what I need it for and it is not large and in the way. It is also very mobile.

It works great and the power required is low (high EER). Cools the corner bedroom in a couple of minutes. It's great. The Window Exhaust kit leaves a little to be desired in that it has to be duct taped in place to stay but otherwise was a pretty good idea.

This A/C unit does a good job cooling down my master bedroom. I will complain that the window installation kit didnt fit my window, I had to cut it down with a hack saw but was easy after that. It also wakes me up when the compressor kicks on I have corrected that by just keeping it at 65 degrees so it just runs non-stop. I was afraid that with the extreme humidity here in Florida it would need to be drained but its been running two weeks straight with no draining. It's a good unit and overall pretty quiet compares to most window units I've had in the past.

My office has an issue with the winter time being too hot and the summer time being too cold. I had looked all over the place for an air conditioner that would cool down 200 square feet. They all needed a window vent and/or a water drain. After I called Air & Water, the woman I talked to was the first one who gave me a solution to my problem. The unit I purchased need an air vent only, and first question is do you have a drop ceiling. Sure enough I do, and I now put the vent up in to the drop ceiling and my office is nice and cool. There are several others in my office that are now looking at doing the same thing as I have.

This AC unit does a very good job cooling down my bedroom. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night without this unit cooling down my room after a hot, sunny day. I would recommend purchasing this unit if you need to cool down a 12 X 12 area. It would be nice if the plastic window insert were longer because it doesn't fill the entire opening in my large window.

We bought this to help ease the warmest (high 80s max), most humid summer days and nights in our master bedroom (which also has my wife's computer work area). It's just 12'x15', but has a very high ceiling and a large trapezoid window facing the morning sun. Since buying it in July, we've had 2 or 3 high-temp periods. The AC-10000E has made the room much more comfortable. Except for a couple of times of getting just down to 77 degrees, it has been able without struggling to pull the temp down to our desired 75. The unit reached us from southern California by regular ground FedEx within 8 days after buying it by phone. The person we talked was helpful, and didn't try to sell me something I didn't want. The installation went fine. I vented it through our slider door, so filled in the rest of the gap (two plastic window-spacers were provided) with a 4" board. I made the fitting tighter by sticking some foam insulation tape onto the strips. When not using the AC, we readily remove the vent setup, and close the slider completely. The controls are easy to use. I haven't figured out how to use Automatic ... for our settings, just seems to run like Fan. To make the display less bright, at night we put a couple of handkerchiefs over the dial. For uses like ours where no special whistles and bells are needed, we highly recommend.

Cooling a small room - air is cold enough but unit seems to run constantly. We installed fresh air intake with a vent and exhausted through the ceiling. Tremendous about of heat being exhausted however there is no accumulation of water in the tray.

We are using the air conditioner to cool a food storage area. After the initial week, I can report that it is working well at keeping the area at 62 degrees.

I bought the unit for next year, our cooling season is over. I will say the unit looks good and was a good value.

The NewAir AC-100000E works very, very well--it is a solid air conditioner, and (with the aid of a fan) cools my entire apartment (approx 750 square feet), and not just the room its in. Not just cool, by the way, but cold. The remote is great, and I really value being able to control the temperature settings from across the room. Also, the up to 12 air timer is sweet. The set-up is pretty straight forward, and takes very little time. The challenge here is that the vent tube and window insert are a bit unwieldy, as is the unit. It takes about 20 minutes to take the unit components out of the window, roll the unit to a new location, and set it up, so it's not quite as portable as one might think. It is also heavy, though the wheels are sturdy and do--even on carpeting get the unit where you need it to go. Just don't expect this to be a fast, breezy process. The two major challenges are the noise and display brightness level. This baby can be LOUD, especially when shifting from air circulation to cooling. The gurgling of water in the unit is noisy, too. The loudness took me some getting used to. (Another noise issue: the beeps from the remote and the on-unit controls are also loud, and I'm pretty sure there's no way to lower those sounds.) The display is BRIGHT green, and lights up a darkened room. I kid you not. I have covered the display with a piece of black cloth. That's the only way I could have it running in my bedroom at night. Seems to work alright. Also, the plug has a green light on it, which is also pretty bright. In summary: it's solidly built, and works very well and quickly, too. Just be aware that (1) it's not super-easy to move and it can be noisy.

It is being used as supplemental cooling in our bedroom. Because of our H/A system it had been necessary to cool the entire apartment to an uncomfortable 70 degrees which we find to be a great sleeping temp. Now we cool just the bedroom and the remainder stays comfortable.

Good product, a bit noisy, doesn't quite cool like a window unit. Customer service was excellent.

I was a little taken back by how hot it has been and our office was unbearable. I got the ok to find an ac unit and needed one that did not have to be exhausted outside so this one is perfect. We set it and are finally comfortable to work through the day.

We could never get our bedroom comfortably cool due to the location. Ordered the New Air AC-10000E for its small size and convenience. When we first set it up and turned it on we set it on 69, did not take us long to realize this was too low. It is now set on 72 and that is perfect with a light cover over you. My windows are not taken up with a big unsightly air conditioner hanging out of it. Have already recommended it to some friends they are amazed how the unit works and how fast it cools the room. Will say it has been really hot here, but the unit can't seem to get the room lower than 92. Measured the room & went with the recommendation. Either need a bigger unit or what I'm not sure.

Needed a portable AC unit for my daughter's non-air conditioned dorm room. When we set it up it registered 95 degrees in the room. Set the thermostat to 78 degrees and turned the fan on high. Within a couple hours the temp had dropped into the low 80's. It's only been in use about a week now, but so far the only complaint I've heard is that the girls have raised the temp because it was too cold.

To whom it may concern: This ac unit works great overall. The only issue I have with this unit is the AUTO feature,the preset temp is to high and can't be changed too my liking,therefore I DON'T use it ! Noise level is better than most, but then I like white noise when sleeping. Compressor is fairly quite, except for sudden turn off sound. Unit has (3) intake filters which are easy to clean. Which means it has a lot of air intake area and that is a GOOD thing.

I actually purchased it for my son. He has a loft apartment, with A/C, but with heat we have been having here in S. LA., it was not sufficient. I purchase the unit for him and he installed it himself, a savings, and he is completely satisfied, even more so. He works as a welder, outdoors, and when he comes home, he needs a cool relaxing place to recover from the day's job's heat. He loves it.

We have been very satisfied with our NewAir air conditioner. It is just what we were looking for. We set it on a milk crate and put a bucket under the drain line so we dont worry about dumping it. It has worked satisfactorily.

After all the reviews (and complaints) about windowless air-conditioning units we decided to risk purchasing this model. Our two youngest sons are home for the summer and their bedrooms are in the basement where the central air-conditioning doesn't do an adequate job... After setting the unit up - reading the directions is very important - it has been running for several weeks without a glitch and brought the temperature down from 79-80 to 72 (that what it is set to). Most of the last 5 weeks, we have had high humidity outside and daytime heat in the low to mid 90's - the basement stays at 72. It was definitely worth buying - and the terms of the store were really very low risk...

I bought this portable air conditioner to be used in my POP UP soft sided camper during our County Fair. I spend about 10 days at the Fair, starting my day at 6am and ending after 1030 PM. I need to be able to rest at night so I can be focused and helpful each day. We had the hottest and most humid weather since the beginning of our Fair records. This air conditioner was able to make and KEEP the camper very comfortable, I slept well. I would recommend this air conditioner to anyone with pride. I'm 65yrs old and I was able to lift and move it around myself. A REAL plus!

I purchased this unit after reviewing several different portable air conditioners online. This one was selected because of the reviews, the price, and the ability to fit my taller-usual side-opening window (I did have to purchase an additional window adapter for about $20). The unit was shipped the same day and arrived in excellent condition. It took only about 10 minutes to install, and it has really helped during this unusually hot summer we are having in Northern Michigan! It cools our bedroom nicely during the night, and during the day we leave it on fan mode. We have not had to empty any water from it. What I really like about it is that we didn't have to remove our window screen to install this unit. Therefore, if we have a cooler day and we want to open the window, we can. In addition, we don't have to remove the window adapter to do so. When we want to go back to air conditioning, we just close the window and turn the unit back on. I highly recommend this unit!

I like my portable air conditioner and am thankful I got it when I did. The 'venting' apparatus is cumbersome, and the conditioner itself quite noisy; however, I sure have been pleased with the cooling!

The product works very well, however it is quite noisy. I don't use it often because I weather is not hot very often, but when I do it cools down the area very well. It would be nice if it were quieter.

The unit pulls the humidity out of the room efficiently. It does not make the room really cold but I use it in a bedroom when I sleep so that is O.K. because I do not like it too cold when I sleep. It can be noisy though.

This product definitely works well, however, it doesn't cool my room as well as I'd like. The BTUs should cover the square footage of my room, but for some reason it doesn't. I have to use a fan in conjunction with this product in order to achieve maximum cooling--that is a bit frustrating considering the cost.

My daughter is very pleased with the NewAir I had sent to her. It was easy to set up and cools her bedroom wonderfully. She works a night shift so sleeping during the hottest part of day has been hard.She can get rid of the two fans she's been using to draw air into her room from the living room wall unit now.

Since we live in Seattle the need for AC is very low. During the summer months, though, we occasionally do get temps in the upper 80's and 90's. On those days, the 2nd floor bedrooms can be very uncomfortable for our two young kids at bedtime. We purchase one of these NewAir AC units to test out, and we were very happy with how it worked and purchased a second unit. Obviously it won't get the room temps down to the 60's, but it definitely takes the edge off of an 85 degree room at 10 pm at night. Enough so that our kids are able to get a decent night sleep...which means that we do too! In our experience, these units dropped the temps in the bedrooms about 5-8 degrees, from approx. 85 degrees down to the 77-78 range. They aren't quiet by any means, but since we normally run a humidifier or fan on low in their rooms for white noise purposes, both kids had no problem with falling asleep with these running. They are easy to move and store and will work perfectly on the intermittent times that we will use them. Thanks Air & Water!!!

Using in an upstair spare bedroom. The room is an 8 by 12 about 720 square ft. It took running constantly for 4 days before it got the room cooled down to about 74. I thought it should have cooled it down quicker. I do love how quiet it runs.

Compressor is noisy. When unit switches from fan to compressor again for additional cooling the change in volume and tone often wakes me up. Installation in a horizontally openning window required duct tape ... but was easy.

This is the greatest addition to my household in years! With an internet job that had me on the computer for 10-12 hours a day in June, I was wilting and having to dry my hands to type. I now have the air conditioner right next to me, so even if it's in the upper 90's I am cooled off. When I close the door to my study, the whole room gets comfortable. Although it seems to default to 80 degrees, I can manually set it lower and it continues to cool. I have pulled it into the bedroom a couple of times, and found the noise was no louder than the fan I regularly run all night. It was easy to set up the exhaust hose, and it's actually easily transportable as well.

I bought this to use in two rooms - a bedroom and an office. However, it's not all that easy to move from one room to another - there is no convenient handle plus you have to take the exhaust hose and window insert along, too. It does a great job of cooling off the room, and the timer is really convenient. The noise level is about the same as a window unit. And I haven't had to empty it. It's far better than having a window unit since on cooler nights I can still open the window!

Our NewAir AC-10000E reached us in good condition on the East Coast eight days after we bought it. I was impressed with the careful packaging (double box). I installed it and had it going in our bedroom/study without much problem. It is indeed a very compact unit. It has helped comfort a lot this first week that we've had it. (Our weather here near the Atlantic ocean is only in the 80s, but high-humidity.) It seems more than adequate for this 12x15, high-ceiling room that has sun coming in through a large trapezoid window. At night, the Control Panel lights are quite bright for sleeping, so we cover them with a cloth. I haven't figured out what use to make of the Automatic setting. When in Automatic, it stays on fan and doesn't kick into AC, even when the room temp is above 80. The owner manual is a little vague. The person at customer service with whom I talked was able to say only that Automatic was factory-set to keep the temp at some predetermined level [75?]. The vent kit is long enough just for a window. Ours is in a slider door, so I had to get a 4" board to fill in the rest of the vertical space. It would have been nice to be able to buy an extender kit for the entire doorspace. Also, the upper extender part is narrower than the bottom part, so I've added insulation strips to fill in the gap. Still, overall we have a good impression of the unit and the company. We would go to you again if we have need for another portable AC.

I rent a garage-turned-studio that is poorly insulated and only has one window which is in the bathroom, so I keep the bathroom door open. To get cross ventilation I would have to open the front door too. In the summer I would have to turn on 2 fans, but the temperature still reaches in the high 80s. I knew a regular air conditioner was not an option and I thought I wouldn't be able to fit a portable air conditioner in my small bathroom, until I came across the NewAir AC 10000E in the internet. It allows me to keep the exhaust hose in the window and open it when the air conditioner is not in use. Although, due to the height of my window, I had to place the a/c on a stand so that the hose could reach it. It would have helped if the hose was 2 feet longer and the vents could also move up and down. In spite of that, it is strong enough to blow cold air from the bathroom to the main room. Now I enjoy my days relaxing and my nights sleeping like a baby!

We are absolutely thrilled with our purchase of your AC-100000E. It's whisper quiet and it's output of cold air is nothing short of amazing. The only thing we're not real happy about is the inflexibility of positioning the machine due to the necessity of keeping the exhaust pipe really straight. I'd buy it again in a minute and highly recommend it to anyone who needs really cold aid in a smaller space.

I have been using the NewAir AC-10000E since the temperature in Seattle rose to 95 degrees last month, and it has worked so well to cool my 250 sq ft bedroom. After ordering another panel to fit my vertical window which was 52 inches in height, the window kit got attached easily with the help of some duct tape. I like the compact size, and the digital display of the functions. It is not library quiet, and for me I always had problems with noise. However, the noise from this unit is comparable to a hotel air conditioner, and for some it is a tolerable noise. So far no problem with this unit, and I hope it will continue to run well for years to come.

I was looking for something to cool my bedroom. I'm renting a very old house with old window panes so this was perfect to pull out one big pane and vent outside. I'm very happy. And especially with no taxes and free shipping. Who could have beat the price. And got here in 4 days!! 8) and not to mention we have been having almost 100 degree temp here. I received this unit on one of the hottest days of the summer 97 degrees,and while it cooled the room it didn't cool the room cold enough .On other days with temperatures in the 80's it cools just fine.I don't find it too noisy as some critics have claimed ,in fact I like the steady noise rather than the window box it replaced cycling on and off.I use this unit at my seasonal home in Maine where in past years I have hardly used an airconditioner .This year I have needed it badly .I will enjoy just rolling this unit out of the way at the end of the season rather than struggle with window boxes.

I bought it to use in my soft sided pop up camper, I was advised NOT to because it wouldn't be able to keep up. Well, wrong, it worked beautifully. We had 95 to 100 degree temps with humidity to match, it dropped the temp 5 to 10 degrees and took out the humidity. I'm so glad I made this investment.

Son's room is above garage facing the sun, when the house is at 78 his room is at 86. This unit has made his room the coldest in the house. With over 11 eer rating this unit can run all day without power sticker shock. Been installed and running for 5 weeks now and still haven't had to drain it.

Unit seems to work very well and keeps us cool at night. I would recommend users to run a constant drain especially if it's humid and make to sure to use a good size bucket as I had at least a gallon drain from about 8 hours of use. I also propped the unit up on top of a milk crate to get a better exhaust flow and condensation drainage.

We are very happy with our New Air AC-10000E portable air conditioner. Installation was quick and easy and we were ready to go in less than one hour. We run the unit only at nighttime and the unit keeps the room temperature and humidity at comfortable levels.The unit is loud, but I don't think it's any louder than other A/C units. We drained the water from the unit after one week of use and there was less than one-half cup accumulated.

I would recommend this product to any one. We have the crank out windows and could not find a unit to fit the window. But, we were able to get this one to fit fine. It keeps our 20 x 20 foot room cool with not problem. We keep it set to 76 until we get home then turn it down to 72. When we are ready for bed the room is very cool.

Bought this in June 2010. It's been a very hot summer in Baltimore. This has been incredibly helpful in maintaining a cooler temperature in our main family room (where a window unit can't be used). While it's not going to make the temperature go from 95 to 75, even with high ceilings, it does a good job at keeping us cool.

I'm using this in a workroom that my dogs stay in during the day while I'm at work, so it really can't get to its coldest setting because a lot of air is leaking out of its many unsealed holes. However, even with these major room design flaws, and major AZ summer heat, the unit keeps the room at around 88 - 89 degrees, which is awesome for the dogs. I think it would be perfect in the house.

The server that runs our five businesses generates a lot of heat, but lives in a small, non-air conditioned room. Bought this to keep the room cold and it's doing the job perfectly. Easy to use - just plug and voila - cold, happy computer server.

It is smaller than our old one, and much quieter. WE ADORE IT! It has served us well during a declared heat wave, and the hot and humid days that followed that official heat. We love it. I wish you were available to places such as Home Depot and WalMart as you are so much more efficient than any others we have seen. We got one for our son and daughter-in-law as well, and they love theirs, also.

My wife and I purchased this unit to cool a small travel trailer, just 76" X 134" inside (just 70 sq. ft!) and thought this unit would be overkill. It wasn't at all. It did cool the travel trailer enough at night that we could sleep in comfort, but hot days were different. I admit it got up to the mid 90's to almost 100 here in Oklahoma but the A/C would only cool the small trailer down to about 90. It might work in a small room in a regular building but don't expect much in a travel trailer. And out trailer is pretty well insulated. It is compact, light weight and has a good fan and was easy to install. It just doesn't cool on a hot day!!

Have had a window unit that just wasn't cutting this heat wave. My portable arrived quickly and was put to use immediately. Easy to install window exhaust. Needed to do a little maneuvering for draining any condensation, but I am cool and happy.

We got this for your upstairs bedroom. It cools pretty well. Don't think the fan is any noisier than a reg fan. Which we use with it to get the room cooler faster. Very easy to install. I used the foam insulator stuff you use on doors to fix the window kit. (the adjust part does leave a gap.) Way it's made. Not totally waterless does have a small drain pan. In Colorado humidity is not a big problem so doesn't need to be emptied a lot. Very easy takes about 2 mins. Never a lot of water. Over all a good value and product. I didn't want to put something in the window. Kind of awkward to move around from room to room. Would recommend you just keep in the room you want to use it in.

The installation is simple; the window vent kit is well made and just takes a couple of minutes to install. The remote control works very well and is easy to use. The only drawback is that the unit is loud. How loud? Forget watching television or listening to the radio when it's running.

I actually bought this A/C for clients I work with but they all seem to really like it. They report it does really well cooling either one larger room or a small level in an apartment. It appears to be relatively energy efficient which is good since we are transitioning to tiered utilities. I would definitely buy this time again for clients in the future.

I purchased this portable AC this year after lots of search that included reading other people's experience and that is one of the reason prompted me to describe my own. AC has been working good and as I remember from other's review, it doesn't bring down room temp much but room sure feels cooler. I would recommend it to others who live in humid warm weather like we have in NJ.

Although I have not had this portable air conditioner long it does serve me well. I have a small rather open house, so it does not cool all, but my family room and dining room are comfortable. Also I have the option of moving it wherever it is needed. It has helped me through some sticky days and I wonder how I managed without it! It is quiet, fairly easy to move and satisfactory for my purposes!

If you are looking for a quieter unit, this is not the one. It is very loud and shifts to a very annoying high-pitch when the compressor is on. The other reviews read like this is a best-buy kind of product, but it is a case of getting what you pay for. Also, quite a trick to get in my window which opens to the side ... needs duct tape, extra bracing, etc. Does cool a room, though.

We love the portable air conditioner. I was very leery of one when my husband suggested it. We purchased it for our share upstairs bedroom. It works great. Runs very quietly. It keeps the room very comfortable. Glad we made the purchase.

I would have to say that this is a good value compared to other portables in the same price range. This unit boasts 12,000 BTU where other units are ~ 10000 BTU for the same price. This unit is a bit noisy, better noise insulation is required.

I finally had a chance to use the product as it was hot for several days. It did bring my bedroom temperature down about 5 degrees from 85 to 80 degrees. I had hoped for a little more cooling.

The unit performed great and the size is so nice. I had to order another extendable window kit to fit the 52.5 inches of my vertical window opening. Timing for this purchase was perfect as the 90 degree hot weather finally started to come to Seattle. Installing it, with a neighbor's help was easy. It is not library quiet, but the compressor hum is tolerable. I have used this unit for 3 days now and so far, have enjoyed the cool air in my bedroom. I like this unit and hope that it will continue to perform well.

I received the NewAir AC-10000E about a week ago and ever since then I've been sleeping the night through. Prior to purchasing the NewAir we installed a new HVAC system in our house which ran $6000. It still didn't cool the upstairs bedroom so I made this purchase. Now for a fraction of the cost we turn the unit on 30 minutes before going to bed and the room (250 sq ft) drops to 73 degrees. Cool!

I got this unit to help cool down a free-standing garage that I use as a photo studio. I just needed something to relieve the heat of the day and concentrated lights at night. I was concerned that the unit might be too small for a two-car garage with a leaky window and door, but it has performed really well. Drops the temp by about ten degrees! Window attachment was very easy, maintenance is a breeze since so much water is disposed of internally, and power consumption is very reasonable, something that was important to me with limited power in the building. Was shipped very fast too! Couldn't be happier!

I use my NewAir unit as a supplemental unit to cool the bedroom on my live aboard houseboat. The boat has two 16,000 BTU central units that can keep the boat cool but at a substantial energy cost. By adding this unit I am able to sleep in total comfort without running the big energy hungry units. Prior to adding your unit I had added a similar unit forward to help cool the forward section of the boat. While it too works well its larger size made it impossible for me to consider it for use in my bedroom. It is actually less BTUs than the NewAir but considerably larger larger/bulkier than the NewAir. I am totally pleased with this NewAir and highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you for selling such a fine unit at a most competitive price. Incidentally, by cooling with the two portable units I have cut my kilowatt usage by roughly 40 percent. Furthermore, I feel safer using these units while I am away from the boat because the two central units have water cooled compressors which means that cooling water (from the lake) must be circulated inside the hull and there is always the possibility of a broken line which could sink the boat. Just another plus from using the NewAir. Thanks again for making my life cooler, less costly and giving me greater peace of mind.

I'm not a handy person, but was able to set this up in 15 minutes (and only that long because the unextended window piece was too small and I had to jerry-rig extra filler). It's quite small, fits in a nook, and not unpleasantly noisy (but nowhere near silent, if that's important to you). Most important, it's very effective in my tiny bedroom (10X10). It doesn't seem to want to go down much below 73 or so (right now, it's in the high 90s and humid outside), but still, it suits my needs perfectly.

The one issue I have with this unit is its noise levels, which seem to be dependent on how level your floor is. A small mat under the unit provided the stability needed to quiet the unit. The cooling levels are sufficient for me as I do not need meat freezer temperatures to feel comfortable. I will either increase or decrease my rating when I receive my next energy bill.

I'm in a 2 story flat roof condo. The thermostat is on the bottom floor and thus 1 bedroom is about 10 degrees hotter than the bottom floor. Read the reviews and thought I would take the chance. Am very glad I did. Works like a charm and even I could install it which is something. Cooled the room very fast! I liked the size of the unit and as is on castors is very easy to move. The other units I priced at S.A. stores were a lot bulkier, more expensive and I also got taxed. Shipping was great especially with the tracking number. I am a VERY PLEASED customer!!

I moved this unit into our master bedroom and took out the old window ac .The New Air fits nicely in a corner of the room and takes so little away from the view from the window .What I like a lot with this unit is that I didn't have to take the screen out when installing the vent into window unlike a window ac it replaced ,so when it's cool outside I can just open the windows and get cross ventilation .After reading some reviews about this ac ,I read it was too noisy ,the green lights made it hard to sleep .I find it's less noisy than the window box it replaced ,and I hardly noticed the unit recycling. As for the green lights I don't see them with my eyes closed as I do sleep with my eyes closed .There is one thing that surprised me I was using a 6000 btu window box and replaced it with a 10000 btu unit ,I would have thought that 10000 would be too much air conditioner for my room sixe .Not so ,apparently it seems on this type of air conditioner the btu to room size calculations doesn't apply .I am thinking about replacing my other window box with this portable ac next summer ,I'm getting too old to keep lifting window boxes into the window and then getting my floors al wet from the water that pours out when I remove the ac in the fall .Being able to just remove the window panel of the New Air in the fall and rolling it away is it's best feature.

We received the air conditioner and set it up but when it ran it was very noisy. We called them and they sent a xmlnsnt right away that works great. We use it as a supplement in the master bedroom and it cools it great, but there is no windows only a sliding door, had to use a piece of wood to fill in the space and have to take exhaust out when not home. We are extremely satisfied with the ac.

We purchased this portable air conditioner for our son's room and he loves it. Summer time can get pretty hot in New Mexico so this unit is working great for him. He loves that it has a remote and a timer so he doesn't have to get up from bed in the middle of the night to turn off or start up again. Unit works quickly and efficiently. We couldn't have asked for a better unit.

I use this product in my sewing room. I do wish it had a lower fan speed and a lower decibel number because we are in cramped quarters because of the venting through the window.

They make a lot noise when the compressor goes on and off. They never seem to get to the temperature that is set and they do not make the room cold, but it is cool. The buttons make a lot of noise when you change the settings.

I purchased this unit for my tenants. I had previously purchased 2 Sunbeam Units for other condos and was very impressed with those units that cost about the same as the NewAir ac 10000E. The Sunbeams were only available through Circuit City online and Circuit City went out of business. The NewAir unit seems to cool pretty well but the construction is not as solid as the Sunbeam and it's noisier. The NewAir is easy to use and set up and I couldn't find anything else in that price range that had better customer reviews. Air and Water shipped quickly and the unit came in good shape.

I needed an A/C solution for a small two bedroom house mostly for the living room/kitchen space. My tenants had window a/c units for their bedrooms. Those two where not adequately cooling the rest of the house. This unit so far has been cooling the space. We where able to vent it out through a wall instead of the window since the window is off of the front porch and was concerned for safety.

The product does actually what it says. Installation was truly painless, took about 15 minutes. No screws or drilling involved. It's good enough to chill a small living room or bedroom, but not for more than one room.

We use one of our smaller bedrooms for a combination office and Ham Radio Shack. It contains computers, back up power supply's and many Ham radios and associated equipment; All generating their own heat. The room would reach unsafe temperatures, not only in the summer but also the winter months. The window in the room is a vertical slide and would make and ordinary window A/C a difficult and unsightly installation. After installing the New Air 10000 the temperature problem has been solved, the equipment runs cooler and so does the operator. A very nice addition to what was a growing problem. Thank You!

The product arrived as promised on the date it was supposed to. I hooked it up first in the mobile home a 63'x14' in Yuma, AZ. I was amazed how easy it was to assemble and the directions were simple to understand. It cooled a major portion in the house (outside temp 105) and what really impressed me was how well it pulled out the moisture. I am spending the summer in Oshkosh, WI and the humidity here is in the 60-70 percent range. There has been a lot of rain and when the sun comes out it's stifling. I have the unit in a 30 foot travel trailer and it does a wonderful job both for cooling and humidity...I am totally satisfied and would recommend.

Set up took 15 mins. It cooled down my 240 sq ft room in 10 mins (to 68 degrees). Love the small size and at a great price, Also it arrived in about five days. I LOVE it.

Product is all representative said it would be and functions meeting all our requirements living in an apartment. However, I would have considered a product wih a lower setting. Such as 70 degress compared to 74 degrees. Other than that I am very satisfied.

The first unit arrived damaged- you replaced it quickly and without red tape which I appreciated. The unit works fine. I was under the impression that "evaporative technology" meant little or no water in the pan. That was wrong. I have had to elevate the unit in order to put a five gallon bucket under the water hose. I cant leave it on all night in humid weather as it will fill that up before I arise in the a.m. This sort of negates the convenience of this unit as compared to a window unit.

Greetings from sunny and oh so hot Arizona. I am extremely happy with my New Air 10000E portable AC unit. I have been studying and researching these units for the past year before deciding to spend the money. Last summer, our home AC unit went out for the day on a 109 degree day. My mom and I as well as our pets all suffered until it could be fixed. Decided to not take that chance again. It is lightweight at 50 lbs. and does move easily on carpet as well as flooring. It arrived completely assembled with even the castors attached! All I had to do was insert the charcoal filter and inspect the AC filter on the side to make sure I could find it for cleaning. Also, my mom smokes 3-4 packs of cigarettes a day and this unit does in fact clean the air so it does not smell so smoky in the house. The unit is well built and it cools pretty good. The window exhaust kit is too small for our windows, but it will fit most windows. The controls/remote are intuitive and easy to use. The only negative is the noise - too loud to talk or listen to music while its running.

I bought 2 of these to get by when my central air died. These work so well we put off the huge cost of fixing the central air for now. They each run an average of 12 hrs a day and our utility bills are over $100 cheaper than the same time last year. I'm seriously considering buying one more which would I think equal what we got with central air.

Used to cool a very warm room upstairs. It keeps the temp below 80, but not a whole lot cooler. I am in a hot location, outside temp reaches high 90s most days, and I am satisfied with this purchase, just wish it got a bit cooler. I was concerned there would be a lot of moisture collected, this has not proved true. I've run the a/c for a couple of weeks and just tonight was able to collect about 1 oz of condensate.

Lights are too bright - bathes the whole bedroom in an eerie green glow at night. I now have duct tape obscuring the entire control panel save the remote sensor. Sounds like a commercial airliner taking off. Other than that it's great! Really, it functions very well otherwise.

I was looking for an indoor AC so I could avoid having to install a big bulky window unit. I also have horizontally sliding windows so not many window units are designed for such windows. I only have one window in my bedroom and I didn't want to block out all the light. After much searching I finally came across this NewAir indoor unit and it exactly fit the bill. It was easy to set up and the window exhaust kit was easy to install. I used some duct tape to seal the edges. I have a medium-sized bedroom and this AC unit cools it just fine. The fan is nice and strong and this unit can blow pretty cold air (which I like!). I keep my room at about 70 degrees with this unit. My only complaint regarding this unit is it is a bit loud. Although my experience with window units is that they are about as loud, so you aren't really losing anything by choosing this unit over a window unit.

I live in New York City and just purchased this unit. I wasn't sure if it would cool my bedroom. It gets pretty hot and humid here. It had been about 85 degrees and humid. I hooked up the unit. Using the window kit was a breeze. The only annoying thing was putting in the hose in the back of the unit and connecting it to the window. That was the hardest part because the hose kept coming out. But once that's done the unit worked like a charm. It cooled the room nicely. With the noise level no more than a fan on med to high setting. I would recommend this unit!

After researching numerous A/C systems this one looked like a good try. Well I extremely please with this unit. It is not that noisy, has a lot of air flow, and very easy to set up. For standard windows the exhaust plate is very easy to put in and doesn't require any tools or taking the screen out. From the outside no one can tell you have an A/C unit in the window. Two thumbs up!

The unit is extremely attractive, and on the smaller side of any free standing a/c I have seen. Found that it could easily cool a room of over 300 sq ft. I recommend without hesitation.

The unit arrived very well packed. It was double boxed. The hose and window adapter work well. The window adapter is 4" x 20"-40". I wouldn't describe it as quiet, but it's not loud enough to bother either myself or my girlfriend. It does have a water drain on the back that says it may need to be emptied. I drained a 1/4 cup of water out of it after a week of running. Might just need emptying once a season. The timer can be used to set it to run for a specific time from 1-12 hours in 1 hour increments, or can be used to turn it on after a period of time from 1-12 hours. I've been setting the timer in the morning when I leave so it turns on a few hours before I go to bed. Works great. Takes a few hours to drop my room from 75-78 to 70. It's a 14x14 room on the second floor. The only issue I have is that it pulls air from the room to run over the coils and pump out the window. That causes air to get pulled into the room from the hallway, which can be really warm. Sometimes it's fighting against itself to cool the room.

After reviewing several portable devices online this one had the best reviews on several sites. We are very pleased with this unit; it is compact but definitely puts out good cool air. The exhaust hose makes this a little unsightly but we do not want window units for this apartment. Even though it is for cooling one room, this unit will cool 800-1000 sq ft apartment to about 76 degrees. If you're looking for cooler you would need at least one small window unit. Very good quality, sturdy, works as expected.

This is a nice air conditioner. It works very well. However, it is quite loud. The low setting is still very loud. If you are watching TV or listening to the radio, this will drown out the sound. The fan is blowing very hard on low and high settings. Overall, this is one of the cheapest 10,000 BTU air conditioners around. It gets the job done.

I bought this unit to cool my master bedroom. I have central air in the house but unfortunately my bedroom does not get cold enough to sleep comfortably at night. Upon receiving the unit, I assembled the parts rather easily. Had a little trouble with the vent hose. A tip that I recommend is attaching the hose to the unit first and then to the window attachment when it is not in the window. The unit cooled off my master bedroom but it took longer than I was expecting. My bedroom is relatively small as I live in a historic home. Once it was cool, it stayed comfortable all night. The unit is loud and you will not hear anything that happens outside of the room that it is in. Make sure when you turn the unit on again that you check all the settings because it will default back to the factory settings which means it will be on 'fan' not a/c. I found out the hard way. Overall, good unit and for the price you can't go wrong. I highly recommend. :)

Nice cool air, but a very noisy unit.

I needed a unit for a small child's room but also one that was portable, after searching the internet for the most energy efficient unit I could I found the AC-10000E it had what I want in an AC, cooling power efficiency and it is relatively quiet, the only problem I had was adjusting the window kit for my vertical windows, but this didn't take that long. So all in all, a good product and an excellent value.

I'm not especially handy, but the set-up on this was surprisingly easy. The window piece was much too long with the extender for my sill, however; so I easily removed it altogether and filled in the small gap with insulation. I plugged the unit into a normal socket and within ten minutes after removing it from the box, it was pumping cold air into my room. It definitely makes noise, but it's a white noise like a floor fan; depending on your tolerance (mine is moderate), it's really not too bad. It's pretty small, too (although it does need room around it to circulate properly) and at $300, it was the cheapest portable AC out there by a mile. I do have an EXTREMELY small room -- maybe 10' square -- so the fact that the 10,000 BTUs cool it down very quickly is perhaps no surprise. Still, I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to others.

I shopped around for a couple of months before I purchased this model. I was a little reluctant to buy a portable a/c unit because a lot of reviews out there are not that promising. The main reason I wanted one is because I have a 44" high sliding window in my bedroom which is on the second floor of my house. The temp is about ten degrees hotter than the down stairs even with my central a/c running constantly. A window unit would have worked well, but I would have had to pretty much build it in with plywood, etc. I spoke to a customer Rep and she was very helpful. The window kit was not long enough so I purchased an additional kit to fit my window space. This portable a/c unit did the trick. My bedroom is now a comfortable place to both sleep in and watch TV, etc. The unit is not too noisy so I am not distracted. I was really worried about that cause that was a lot of the complaints I read in general about these portable units. All in all I am very pleased and the customer service was very helpful which made the buying experience very pleasant. Great unit for the price as well.

Living in New York, I had trepidations of the condition the air conditioner would be because of the shipping distance from California. When the item arrived, the product was extremely well packaged. I think that the package would easily take extreme handling without any damage. As to the performance, it is operating as advertised, and cools the room it is in very well. The portability of the unit makes it doubly valuable. The window attachment was easily placed in my double hung windows. I just had to cut an inch off it's edge so it would fit nicely in the windows. The cutting took me about 30 seconds. The control panel is very nice, with push buttons marked well and with pictures to describe the button's functions. The price was fantastic and the delivery was right on time. I am very happy with my purchase.

Just received the unit today. Very easy to set up. Only trouble I had was trimming the window kit to fit my window. A small knife was all I needed. Done in about 10 minutes. It's about 85 here right now, and have it running. No complaints yet. We'll see how it does when it really gets hot. But then again, how well does any air conditioner do in really hot weather? I really like the style. Kind of good looking. Like that I can still see out my window unlike a window unit. And those that say its noisy...sounds like a box fan to me. Not noisy at all. Like the instructions say "it needs to be on a level surface". I'm happy so far.

Easy to install, quiet, brings the humidity and temperature down relatively quickly. It keeps the room comfortable (not super cold as I was not looking for that). Order was shipped and delivered promptly.

This unit was easy to set up, is a very nice size and certainly blows cooler air. I have a small apartment and it does not reduce the temperature much throughout the unit, but it is cooler where the air is able to be felt directly from the unit. It isn't quite a miracle machine, but it will keep you from melting.

We purchased this product because we have odd-sized windows that will not work with a regular air conditioner that is big enough to cool our large room. This portable air conditioner does a really good job at cooling the room. The window kit was a little too big to fit our small window, but we just cut it down and it works fine now. My only complaint about this unit would be that it is pretty loud.

I purchased two of these units and they work very well. They are reasonably quiet as well. I looked at other units both online and locally and this was by far the best deal.

This unit is too loud to have in your home. You will not be able to sleep, talk on the phone, think, etc. Its like a vacuum cleaner.

This unit is nice takes up lil space is not hot enough for the AC but the fan is very cooling I would tell anyone 2 by this unit.

I'm very impressed with this ac as it cools our master bedroom within 10 minutes. I have used it 3 times so far as it's doesn't get very hot in Seattle but when it does we do need a ac and this year we won't be sleeping in hot nights. Thanks NewAir....

This product works well. It is suitable for small to mid size rooms.

It cools my 12x20 room with ease. A bit noisier than anticipated but got use to it. The portability is great. My only complaint was the window kit did not fit my windows. With a nip hear a tuck there and some insulation all is good. All in all a very good product for the money. Thanks Air & Water

This product was exactly what I was looking for. It is humid here, and I needed a unit with a strong de-humidifier, as my husband is hot if it's in the 60s but humid - so you can imagine how hot he is in the 100 degree humid summers here. We bought this unit for his office, which is in a separate building behind our home. He keeps it COLD in there in the summers (well, cold to me, but perfect for him). This unit had all the features I was looking for and it weighed far less than similar units. The price was very reasonable, as well. I only slip the window exhaust in when I use the air conditioner. I use the fan more than I expected to, and that's nice. I was pleased that it was so good looking. The matt silver finish is sleek and very unobtrusive in any decor. I was really impressed with the exhaust hose because I was expecting something ugly and difficult to manage. This one collapses neatly when not in use. I would recommend it. It set up in about 2 minutes. The window exhaust set-up was very simple (I just wish it was about 10 inches longer). It's light weight and handsome and the best value for the price anywhere.
