Duraflame 10HM2273-W505 Livingston Portable Infrared Space Heater

my 2 story, 113 year old farmhouse is heated via kerosene/monitors (2), both located downstairs. windows aren't too old, and insulation could be better. after three weeks during late march and early april, with outside temps ranging from 15 at night to 50 during some days the heater working alone, will keep the downstairs of the house at about 60, and this is with the heater set on the highest setting. i have the heater in the livingroom on the opposite side of the room from the heat monitor. i have the monitor thermo set at 58 and it never really comes on. only way this thing is heating 1000sq.ft. is if it is in a well insulated, house. for me, it has been great using this as opposed to expensive kerosene. the wood finish is nice however the overall look would be nice if it didn't have the cheap looking dials/screen on the front...but whatever, it is a space heater not a custom built end table. it has been turned on and running off and on without any problems since about one minute after taking it out of the box. i would buy one/another if my house was better insulated.

Unit is built like a nice piece of furniture. Very quiet operation. Heats your space in no time at all. Thinking of buying a couple more for my basement and sunroom.

I did a lot of looking over different web sites on infrared heaters and decided on the Duraflame 10HM2273-W505 model. It came in today and we are trying it out as I type this reply. We have been using a heater that was lent to us for a trial run to see if we might like this new technology. Need less to say we are hooked on this type of heating. The Duraflame unit is better than the one we used for our test source. The temp control is more accurate and the heat is better than others. I just ordered another one tonight for our home. I'm heating an old home built in the 1930s with very little insulation in the walls or ceilings. My home is 24' x 40' in length and just one keeps the temp at 68 degrees in New Hampshire.

We purchased this for our family room - 14' x 22' - with floor-to-ceiling windows and a high ceiling. It can be completely closed off for use of this Duraflame Infrared Space Heater. Beautiful furniture piece that blends in nicely with our decor. Very quiet. Did not know what to expect but am surprised at how it warms the room quickly and comfortably. We use this heater mainly in the evening when we watch TV. Also, in the morning for coffee. We keep the temp in the rest of the house with gas forced air heating at 60 degrees. The heater is set at 66-67. Our last electric bill was no higher than the month before w/o a/c in either month. Last month's temps were much lower - 30's and 40's at night - than the month before. We do, however, anticipate a noticible increase in the cost of using the heater in the dead of winter but so far it seems not to have much of a cost impact. We really enjoy the consistant comfort in the evenings with this eater. Also, so far it does not cycle on with any frequency. I should note that the heater came with a remote that did not function but the mfg is sending us a replacement.

I have been using the Duraflame for about three weeks. During that time we have had plenty of cold weather to test it out. I am using it in a home office that is roughly 100 sq. ft. It operates very quietly, with a well made, durable cabinet. The cabinet stays cool to the touch, and my teenage grandchildren can safely sit on it. It was easy to set up and learn how to use it. The casters make it easy to move around on the wooden floor of my offfice. Its size is a bit large, but I'm learning to cope with that. I was surprized to learn that it had only one output wattage level. For the price I would have expected at least two output levels (high and low). I got a second surprize when the blower turned off when the set point temperature was reached. The dead band is quite wide, about 4 degrees F or more, and thus there are long periods when the unit sits idle. The fan should stay on, or that should at least be a control option This problem can be overcome by rasing the set point temperature to a high level. But then the unit is on all of the time. Not efficient. The heat outlet is about 16" above the floor, and heat rises, so there is a cold area below that level. So far the unit has been able to keep the room tempearature about 2 F above the house temperature. I had expected to keep my small study warm, and let the rest of the house cool off at night. I can see that idea will not work, and when winter really sets in the cold zone near the floor may get quite chilling. No tip over switch? Not good. For the price of this unit I expected better heat distribution and better control design. I cannot recommend that anyone buy it.

This product has a beautiful case but cannot heat my 350 sq. foot room. It is very safe so I put it in a very small bedroom where our grand children stay when visiting. I did not return it because of the re-stocking fee return policy. I purchased a smaller, cheaper outfit from another vendor with no re-stocking fee and it heats as well or better than this heater even though it is only rated for only 400 sq. ft. If you want a small, decorative device that heats a very small room safely, this is the product for you.

I purchased two and they are perfect for my needs. I like that they are safe around children. They don't tip or get hot to the touch. The adjustable temperature and remote control features are added bonuses. Excellent product.

I love my Duraflame Quartz Portable Heater. I purchased it to use in my 34' Fifth Wheel Camper. I had the opportunity to try it out this past weekend. Our nightly low was 41 degrees and with the Quartz Heater set at 75 degrees, it kept the camper at 73 degrees throughout the night. I am very pleased with this performance. The heater is very quiet and very efficient for my application. I received my order from Air n Water much quicker than I anticipated I would. I wasn't sure if this space heater was going to work because we needed it for a room that was about 500 square feet, but has really high ceiling (about 12-15 ft.) and large windows (which we have placed plastic over). We just received the heater today and within 2 hours there is a difference in the room temperature! I couldn't even wear shorts or take off my shoes before because of how cold the room got, but as I write this I am in my shorts and socks! Definitely made a good purchase choice and couldn't have asked for a better price! (The only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 on Energy Efficiency is because it is too early to tell how it will change the electric bill.)

We just found out that our son is allergic to our 2 cats. So the cats now live in our two car garage, with lots of toys and such. However it wasn't warm enough for them, so after a great deal of research we purchased Duraflame from Air and Water. Air and Waters website was very informative. I called the company with a whole host of questions from safety to delivery. All may questions were answered with a clear knowledge of the product and they were very polite and professional. Air and Water delivered the product much sooner than expected. I do almost all my shopping online and I can say that Air and Water is an outstanding company and the cats and I are very happy with our Durflame. It looks great, it is very quite,the Duraflame is easy to use and performs as promised. Too early to rate energy efficiency and I'm not sure about the safety features. However, I have been impressed with this unit and my parents have an EdenPure, and so far I see no major differences. This unit is more cosmetically pleasing with the wood finish, but I'm more concerned about its operation. And, so far, so very good -- performs well, constructed well and noise level is very comparable. I would recommend...

The time of delivery was as good as I have ever experienced. It arrived as promised and was in excellent condition. Since we live on the Texas gulf coast we were not able to try the heater out for several days, but it is so simple to operate and the safety features are excellent and easy to follow. Looking forward using it and not have our central heat run so much. The price was much less than what I found locally. I would highly recommend the heater. Also it looks great with our other furnishings.

Heats well and is fairly quiet. The box it came in was very beaten up, but the contents were not damaged. The heater looks great!

My bedroom has 2 windows and a patio door and was always chilly but not after I plug this wonderful product...I love it and now sleep through the night without waking up because my head is cold!

Our house has a room attached to family room that was meant to be a "sun room." In the winter cold air flows in like the door is open and makes sitting in the family room almost unbearable. This heater has performed as planned and provides a buffer to the cold air we normally experience.

This heater works very well. I use it in my down stairs area and it warms the whole space with no problem. The product was shipped right on time as promised. I would tell everyone to get this item from this company.

As of now, it has been very good. Time will tell when the weather gets colder. Have been trying to reach the manufacturer to get some answers and was unable to reach them. The instructions stated not to use with extension cord and we wanted to know why. The extension cord would allow better placement of the unit. Was put on hold for 40 minutes and then cut off. Great heater but the customer service at the manufacturer is very poor.

So far I love this product. Winter hasn't arrived here in New Jersey yet, but we have had a few chilly night's. So far the heater has worked great and provides the extra heat I had hoped for in our family room. I would highly recommend this product.

It is way better than I expected. It will do double duty here in our Florida home, and it will go with us to our summer place in North Carolina. We will be in the mountains there, and it gets real chilly some nights, so will make our way of living very comfortable. I will show it to all of our neighbors as they will become buyers too. After doing some extensive web surfing and reading customer reviews, it was a no brainer. I ordered 2 Duraflame Livingston infrared heaters, one for my sons room and one for my basememt. Customer service rep was more than helpful better yet knowledgeable and courteous. Product shipped the same day and arrived within a few days, all the way from CA. These heaters are GREAT, accurate and cool to the touch which is a must since it's in my sons room. Needless to say, best choice I made. Go with Air & Water!

My heat pump was costing me a fortune to heat my 1400 sq ft home in N.C. I'd heard from 2 friends that they were impressed by these quartz heaters so I bought one. My electric bill went done enough to pay for it in 2 months and the bottom floor 700 sq ft, stayed toasty as compared to still chilly with my heat pumps. Will buy another for upstairs this year.

When first turning on this product you know it is of good quality, the quietness of the product is very nice, the heat output is another great thing about the heater. I recommend this to anyone that wants to be warm when its cold outside/in!
