Southwest Chicken Tenders
Cooking Time: 15-18 minutes | Temperature: 356°F | Serves: 3-4
- 1 lb Chicken Breast Tenders
- 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
- 1 tbsp Chopped Onion
- 1 tbsp Taco Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Oregano
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise*
In a shallow bowl, combine the Panko bread crumbs, chopped onion, taco seasoning, crushed red pepper, salt, and oregano. Make sure the ingredients are mixed well.
Add the chicken tenders to another medium bowl and mix in the mayonnaise. Once completely covered, begin coating the chicken tenders in the bread crumbs one at a time.
Place coated chicken in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the chicken. Add 3-4 tenders per batch. Air Fry for 15-18 minutes at 356°F.
*Please note that there is no taste of mayonnaise in this recipe. Personally, I do not like mayonnaise at all. Many years ago, I learned that you can make excellent fried chicken by removing the skin and using mayonnaise to adhere the crunchy coating. It works perfectly every time and keeps the chicken moist. I promise you will not taste it!
